I spent a couple of hours searching to tank when I hit the low 40s yesterday and didn't find anything. So I had tank selected when I started the search. I managed to get a group by responding to zone chat spam. When I entered that group I had no preferred role set and someone else that joined the group also had no role. Could it be that the group finder is clearing the selected roles?

We are currently working on a backend fix that will ensure you are placed into a group faster if you meet all requirements, without having to wait for other players in front of you in the queue, and are aiming to get this fix out in the next incremental patch. The actual design of the tool will still remain in that a player searching for a group will require 4 players for the group to form - one tank, one healer, and two DPS - and be within 5 levels (or 5 Veteran Ranks if applicable) of each other.
Which thing are you referring to, @Garbrac? The fix or the design of the tool itself?ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Hey guys, we’d like to give you an update as to what’s going on with the Grouping Tools. So just out of curiosity, does this also apply for Vet City of Ash or for the future, the most recent group content? If so, does that mean newer level content will be designed with a 5 level buffer concept?

This design is why I will never get a group for Craglorn at VR1. It makes sense to limit the range in the 1-50 zones (although I think 5 is too short - maybe 8 would be better), but since everyone is Level 50 at Veteran, whether they are VR1 or VR14, there should not be a five-rank limit on Veteran groups.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Which thing are you referring to, @Garbrac? Mostly the design. You made mention of how the tool works, and it will group you with someone that is within 5 levels or VR of yourself.
New content is typically designed for max level players, for example Vet City of Ash is more for VR 14 players. I just wanted to clarify that, if queued for that, I will be grouped with VR14 players and not a VR9 player.

Alternatively, since every Group Finder section displays the level on it, allow it to group anyone in that level range, and then go 5 either side for anyone who wants to group outside of that range. So Craglorn would find groups of VR1-VR14, Tier 1 Vet Dungeons would find groups of VR1-VR5 (or VR6-VR10 for Tier 2) as standard, but it would find groups of VR9-VR14 if a VR14 used the tool.

Yah always good to give people a little thing fore using it. Give people a small exp reward or an small items, fun token, gold or better drop rate or something for forming a groupe this way and not by spamming the chat. After this fix goes in, we need something in game to incentive people to use the LFG tool. The game thus far has done an excellent job of training people to not use it, so we need to undo that problem.
