I'm not sure whether you fully understood the whole potential of negate, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    1. It silences every unit in its AOE. - This can easily be avoided by using CC break-free or Immovable.

    2. When it's casted it removes all enemy AOE's within it's own.

Now the first part is ok, but doesn't actually make that much of a difference, the second one is what makes the impact.

~where not specified, assume it's a PvP perspective...

Overload - Probably a style thing, but I love having a 3rd skill bar. I prefer this, to having a better nuke-ability. Yes, if I were asked if I'd rather have the 3rd skill bar or Standard of Might, I'd take Standard of Might w/out hesitating. Otherwise, I'm grateful I've 5 more skills within reach than other classes (during combat & after charged).

Negate - Yes, a properly used Negate in group PvP is of extremely high value and I'm more than happy to be the negate-*** if that's my best contribution towards wiping an opponent. Having said that, I would certainly welcome a few small tweaks from ZOS to this niche-ulti such that it was more on par with the likes of DK's standard, NB's veil and Templar's Nova.

...Atronach - I've heard that ole stormy comes in handy for adding DPS for end game PvE. I wouldn't know =)

    Non-Sorc options

Soul Assault - Yes lots of damage, but it's also survivable and sends out a flare to all enemies saying please come kill me

Flawless Dawnbreaker - Very nice if you're aiming to boost weapon damage. This may work well for your build. I use this as alt approach on my NB when playing dedicated PvP DPS role in group and change it out to Resto when solo.
