Please fix the LFG tool already!!!

I have been trying to find a group using the LFG tool since 1.5 was released and it keeps searching forever and never finds me a group.
Is it broken or people are just not using it?

I've not been able to find a group since 1.5 either. It used to be pretty easy for my other tank to get a group when he was at the lower levels. They made a change so that it now only puts you in a group once all 4 members are found but I would have thought that for the lower level dungeons that this wouldn't be an issue. They did say they were investigating problems with the lfg tool after 1.5 was released.

since you know the lfg tool is broken why do you even try to use it to get a group???

try using zone chat. if its pledges you want to do then try the zone where you pick them up. or try your guild(s). much quicker then a lfg tool that doesnt work.

its broken, got my char close to 50 now, and lots of dungeons to do, so stopped lvling so I can do them all once before Is time for the veteran version, and since I rahter not sit around town for ages spamming lfg in chat, I made an alt^^
but I hope they fix it before my gametime runs out

I spent four hours in the queue as a tank yesterday, and nothing.

*sigh* perhaps I should unsubscribe until this is fixed. Can't even do group dungeons without spamming zone chat. Drives me crazy... Thought this would be fixed weeks ago.

Anyone posting a variation of, "You have to use the tool for it to work." This says it all.

On the flip side @AlienDiplomat‌ would be grouped in five minutes or less, from zone chat.

you have been looking in to it for a month soon, and still no progress/update/fix for it,, and since you see this as a "priority" issue, its really sad, or not that much of a prio issue..

At the present moment, we do not have any additional news. A fix for the LFG tool is likely going to require a patch, meaning it will come in an incremental update. We'll do our best to keep this thread updated with the most recent information, but keep an eye on the patch notes as they are released as well.

its good that ZOS keeps us updated on the issue, but on the other hand, for me atleast, a month later and "no further news about the issue" is not acceptable. I dont want to sit around in a zone just cause I want to do a dungeon, or see nothing but lfg in the chat.

I mean... i am grateful, that you inform us, but tbh 1 month is a very long time...
And you didn`t state, that it will come with the next patch next week... or a hotfix anytime soon...
I mean... it sounds like Zenimax doesn`t want to improve the tool at all... just... make it work more or less... Not much programming... Or is it the other way around... like... its very complicated, because you have to alter a very critical code... ?

Do you guys have enough programming manpower/girlpower?

Sorry for my persistance, but i had to search for DD`s as a Tank, so i am pretty much traumatised....

This situation looks like a person was assigned the task of single-handedly rewriting the LFG tool as the last job before quitting for another job with a different company, ran out of time to finish the job and never documented their work. Of course, I am just guessing, but that kind of thing would be consistent with what we are seeing: dysfunctional code with no active maintainer and nobody up to speed on how it works, or rather doesn't work. The company being silent on what the real problem is would be understandable, because it would unfairly blame a person who is no longer around and reflect badly on their management process.

This kind of thing will keep happening as long as ZOS doesn't get their act together on code management and testing. After seeing their broken process in action for seven months, I fear that this is a fundamental structural problem with the company, and that we may never see an improvement.

In any case, I'm not expecting the LFG tool to work any time soon, and I can live without it.

well, we have been hearing that for a month soon, and no progress, I now have 2 alts, close to 50, cause I didnt want my main to hit 50 before I had done all the dungeons on normal, and Im not making yet another alt, so atm, I log in, start a new research, and log out, and tbh I doubt I will renew my sub when it runs out, rather wait and resub when its fixed.

I have never used the LFG tool. Seriously, if you are so totaly dependent on it to find a group, you need to rethink how you play the game. For all we know, the LFG tool may never work right. Find a good guild and raid dungeons with them, or swallow your pride and get over your distaste for spamming /zone with some LFG messages. It's not a pretty solution, but it works.

You do let out some thinking... let me explain.

Its easy to find a group for a daily during prime time... especially, if you are a Tank...
Nontheless... you have a distribution problem. You can not bring together the right ppl to the right place in an efficient time frame.
Plus: You have to be in one zone and spam a channel.

A tool could do that for you in no time, while you can gather up some herbs, make a coffe or doing a quest.

Many ppl are in different zones... farming, questing what so ever. In the morning, when there aren`t many players its even harder.
Perhaps they would join a group... enter a queue... but they don`t, because it takes to long/ to much effort for the manual search... You have to focus on one thing... And doing nothing for 2 hours isn`t it.

Remember... there are player runing multiple instances a day... Imagine the time we would gain to do other stuff...
With a proper LFG tool you have a very high frequence of dungeons.
You cut away hours of standing around and doing nothing.

Good LFG => More practice => More dynamic => More Trials => More Skill => Better community=> Go on, go on, go on...

This time, when searching a group, makes many of us thinking about life and leaving this game :disagree:

ofc its not a MUST, but, atm, if I want to do a dungeon, I have to be in that area, spaming lfg this and that, in an area where I completed everything, plus I hate that 90% of what I see in the chat is lfg, but just not the ones I need, so yes, I rather use the lfg tool, doing things in an area where I have stuff to do, then just stand around and wait. and its not just the fact that the lfg is not working that irritates me, its the fact that a month later, we still get the same answer from ZOZ, we are working on it, it does not take a month to fix a broken lfg, lots of games had that problem, and it was fixed in the next patch.

I agree that a working LFG tool would be good thing. However, the tool not working is not a reason in itself for me to quit playing. (It is one of the small things that add up, though.) Pardon me if I came across as rude or inconsiderate.

well, Im not quiting the game,how ever, I now have 3 chars lvl -40-47, all waiting to do dungeons, and I dont feel like sitting around for hours and hours spamming lfg in a zone, while I could ie gather stuff (love the crafting) and since all I do atm is log in and take care of the crafting, while waiting for a fix, now its a month later, and game time is soon up, so I had to ask my self, do I want to pay for another month of just waiting, not playing, answer is no. will I come back when its fixed? problably yes if I havent found some other game by then, so for me its more like taking a break from the game.

Fixed an issue that was reducing the effectiveness of the Grouping Tool. This will address instances where there were a large number of player characters in the Tool that had not yet been matched into a group.

kinda laughed when I read it, reducing effectiveness.. it was completly broken lol.

been using the lfg tool for an hour now "all" dungeons, havent found a single person so far, anyone else had better luck with it? or did the fix, fix nothing?

Not a single group found even after the patch. I would say it is still broken

I was happy when I read the patch notes, that the lfg issue should be fixed, but it was not, yet another we fixed it in the patch notes, but the fix didnt work, makes me question how much you really test the patches before releasing them, tbh its starting to feel a bit like, "we have to push out new content" and all the old bugs are sort of second prio to fix, since there are lots of bugs even from lauch, its just starting to get a bit frustrating, plus all the problems with the launcher every patch, pls sort things out, I want to keep playing this game,,
