Skyrims sales were 80% console so it would be a really bad move for zos to give up on consoles. I can see it being delayed another six months because we have not had any information on it for months and no beta test for console so far (as far as I am aware). But I can still see it being released on console.
Box sales of Skyrim was 80% console, of total sale it was around 60-70% as steam sales is not listed.
Anyway, ESO will sell well on consoles, combat mechanism and interface should be easy to adjust and unlike on pc its not an overflow of MMO for consoles.
It should also not be significant problems getting the game to run on them.

Then the console version was delayed they talked about Christmas 2014.
This has been more delayed or we had heard something now.

My guess is that they wait until the game is more complete, get in the champion and justice system completed and stable at least.
They have no hurry, game will be better so it will get better reviews and more consoles are sold.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I agree it will definitely still sell well on console.

Of my friends, 5 played morrowing/oblivion and skyrim on console. Yet not a single one other than myself tried the PC versions let alone ESO.

If it did release it would be a train wreck. Think about it a pc player can have there maxed out characters ported over. So day one you would have people in pvp getting stomped by v14. Also the economy would be a train wreck. Players who played on pc would be the only one with high crafting/crafting research. They would also have the zones that drop the high level motifs. I could go on but I think you can get the picture.

Isnt there VR only and Non-VR PVP campaigns though?

Also, the economy probably isnt a large issue with console players. Most will likely want to make their own crafters and be self-sufficient anyways. It would also make it easier for anyone looking for high end crafter items as we wont have to wait weeks for players to research the required traits.

I would love to, however I work at a PC all day and am really just looking for something to game while laying on the couch.

I did play through to VR12 on my sorc though entirely using my PS4 controller and loved it, but its just a large hassle to get everything configured/working everytime. Plus I had to run it on minimum settings and thats no way to enjoy Nirn.

Really looking forward to being able to just sit down, boot the PS4 and explore ESO in high settings from my couch.

I consulted my crystal ball and several newts are now blind. Fortunately, I can give you two dates for the console.

The announcement and start of pre-order will happen when they decide the date that the finished Champion System will be released to the PC/Mac servers.

The game will ship some time in the 4 weeks following the Champion System.

They do not want to start a bunch of Console players on the Veteran Rank system only to have them transition over to the Champion System in a few weeks.

While all of this is happening, the Console beta (of which I am not part of and have no direct knowledge of) is actually underway. It is subject to an NDA that prevents the participants from disclosing anything about it.

Rumor has it that the Console beta has all balanced classes, viable Stamina builds, no crashing in Cyrodiil, and they fixed the facial animation.

Ok, maybe not the first three.

Paul sage said it himself, they are still working on Console versions, and they still have things to work on.

I imagine they are going to release it after champion/justice/spell crafting, along with most problems being fixed. Mainly because it will take longer for them to fix most problems we are experiencing with the pc version at the moment.

Where did you hear that? I've never heard ZOS say it was in beta testing, and they're certainly not under any NDA. In fact, I myself signed up for the PS4 beta back when they first encouraged this. And I've certainly never gotten any invite (maybe they didn't want the other players to be intimidated by my awesomeness). AFAIK, it's still in alpha at most. I've never heard even an anonymous poster claim to be an active beta tester for the console version.

Probably an estimated guess, however its an internal beta, not an external one.
The console version was delayed after the pc launch and just two months before planned launch. its also pretty easy to port from PC to PS4/ One, think mac version rather than PS3
Concussion: they had an running version, they was however not happy with the state of game/ ratings, it might also be performance issues.

They decided to delay the launch. The server is pretty much the same except integrated voice chat who can run on separate servers.
The client need to be tested, even if the version worked they would use the time to increase performance.
However even large fights in cyrodil can be performance tested with mostly NPC bots set up as players in all sorts of armor and casting all sort of spells.

The console public beta would mainly be an demo to get people to try the game, yes they will use it for catching rare client side bugs, fine tuning performance and get feedback on interface and difficulty, but primarily its an demo.

Might be where they are having smaller groups like they did with the PC version. Have a handful of people test. Then another handful of people, then another until you finally do open Beta.

Yes, the champion and justice system is the sort of stuff who generates lots of critical bugs as we have seen :)

Stuff like new zones also have bugs, but the bug will only affect the zone, not everything else.

Like I said, I have no direct knowledge of a Console beta. I wish to amend that by saying I have no indirect knowledge, either. As a matter of fact, I am utterly clueless on the subject of whether it is in beta or not. On top of that, I do not expect to hear about a beta because I do expect that it will be closely guarded by NDA and armed security trolls.

The whole paragraph about the console beta was just to set up for the next paragraph, which is an LOL catcher.

Everything else is absolutely true, though. Particularly the part about crystal balls and newts.

No, scratch that. Actually, the entire comment was a wild guess with no basis in anything but speculation built upon conjecture.

EDIT: I should add that this is no different than any other comment in the thread. Sorry if I gave you false hope.

It could. Cause you can't talk about it in any way shape or form. But if people where invited it may be a small group and most likely it would be console players trying it and not someone who's going to be frequenting the forum. If they posted anything about it on reddit or Facebook it would be taken down quickly and they would be banned.

I have seen people on Facebook say they signed up but that the page you get sent to was screwing up and Zos was responding and helping them out.

Again not saying it didn't start but it could have and we just don't know it yet.

Even if there was an NDA, we would know about the existence of a Console Beta if it was public. People were allowed to state that they got invited but nothing else in the PC Beta. However back then, the NDA was more important as they were trying to keep the story under wraps until close to release. Now, anyone with access to Youtube can see the story, so who knows how restrictive the NDA would be this time around.

I agree with the others who have postulated that the Champion System is the big road block to getting this going on the console. It seems that it will be an overhaul of the character development mechanism and that would not do to start out on one system, then soon throw in another one that's completely different.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I was looking around on several websites last night to update my list of wanted games and to see what future new releases were coming out for the PS4 (I have a 4 game minimum before buying a new system), and I noticed the dates for ESO were changed to 12/31/2015, which is a generic IDK date.

I really don't think ESO is going to be released on the console any time soon.
How long did it take them to release Diablo 3 to consoles compared to when it was available for PCs? We're probably looking at the same time frame.

I think eso might be a different for timeline than diablo. ESO seems to have been developed with console as a major consideration whereas Diablo was more of an afterthought.

ESOs UI and HUD are designed to be more friendly for console, Im sure they have made other considerations during development as well to help the transition.
