Just this but I don't believe that either.
    A. He said Bethesda's MMO
    B. He said confirmed but ZOS hasn't said anything yet
    C. He brought up Tod Howards name. I don't believe Tod Howard had much to do with this game and not sure if Tom Howard is the one to go to, to confirm anything (Although maybe he is I dunno)

I believe more that they will release information when they are ready. Just like they said they would do.

The guys at Podcast Beyond (IGN's Playstation podcast) are saying it's basically been defacto cancelled:

I don't know about that. But MS and Sony stopped talking about it last summer, and it hasn't appeared on any of their "Upcoming Releases" lists or presentations since then.

No news doesn't necessarily equate to canceled. ESO is undergoing a massive overhaul of it's core systems. Releasing a console version, of what is essentially beta, would be unwise.

Which is okay, but when their last update stated the console version would be available next month, it would be nice to hear some news. Even if that news is that is will be delayed further.

Honestly, love your console or not, the amount of gamebreaking bugs that you couldn't work around without a console command on the PC in Skyrim should be a cautionary tale about ZOS/Bethesda and consoles. I had fully cleared skyrim 3 times before my buddy got a patch that allowed him to finish at least 4 or 5 quests that bugged on him on his PS3..........

While all of this is happening, the Console beta (of which I am not part of and have no direct knowledge of) is actually underway. It is subject to an NDA that prevents the participants from disclosing anything about it.

Where did you hear that? I've never heard ZOS say it was in beta testing, and they're certainly not under any NDA. In fact, I myself signed up for the PS4 beta back when they first encouraged this. And I've certainly never gotten any invite (maybe they didn't want the other players to be intimidated by my awesomeness). AFAIK, it's still in alpha at most. I've never heard even an anonymous poster claim to be an active beta tester for the console version.

If there is an NDA then they can't talk about it on here or anywhere else. I signed up but have not gotten in so not sure if it is underway or not but I do know they had sign ups for it. Might be where they are having smaller groups like they did with the PC version. Have a handful of people test. Then another handful of people, then another until you finally do open Beta.

    Also signed up, nothing yet.

Does NDA prevent players from stating they were invited?
No it did not for the pc version, and yes you would anyway get leaks like
    "Playing ESO on PS4 :)".

Console beta will be different from the pc one, it will go from small group to everybody who want very fast.
No need to test server system as they are the same as on pc. They will test difficulty, it might be different with an controller, they will test performance in crowded settings, Cyridil and starting area at launch.
After this they do straight for demo/ semi open beta.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

So basically the guy who wrote that article did not even read the blog he linked to. Todd Howard was talking about the impending release of ESO when he wrote that blog a year ago, not the The Elder Scrolls single player game series. So, I would have no confidence with what that writer came up with.

As you say, ZOS will tell us when they are ready to release on the consoles when they are ready to release that information.

When I clicked on Tod Howards name thinking it was a reference it sent me to elderscrollsonline.com lol. I saw some other sites saying the same thing but they all sounded like bollocks. But if it quiets the console players for a few weeks it would be nice.

That article.. wow. lol For one, they'd have less than a month to market the game for console players. They likely wouldn't be able to open and beta, close it, and go gold before that time frame either. If anything, I could see the beta opening up in December, not the out right release of the game. I played the PC version, but am too set in my ways to continue using a keyboard and mouse. Plus my PC only runs the game on low quality. lol Hope to hear some news soon. Any nugget of info to whet my appetite will be appreciated it.

I think that Blog was more Todd giving his "Blessing" to the ESO game. I am just surprised that Aira Quintana, who wrote that article for Ecumenical News did not read the blog he linked to. Where clearly Todd is talking about the new game that ZOS was making (at the time) in a blog reflecting on the history of the TES games as a series.

If one were to look back at the replies ESO has given to questions about the console versions, you'd think they had a robot replying. They all look like this:

"Please rest assured, we are still hard at work on the console versions of #ESO and look forward to sharing more information soon."

Just noticed there are still PS4/XBone logos at the bottom of the website. Some hope has returned as they have not removed those yet.

No need to remove them when they are still going to be released on those consoles. :)

I'm going on a limb here and guess that it is only going to be released when the Imperial City and Justice System are released. After they iron out the tweaks of course.

It could be as simple as trying to give the game an ideal amount of content for console players. Or it could be that they really are having trouble with the major overhaul of the game system in order to make it compatible with consoles...

Seems like a logical release window. I think the biggest hurdle for them was the UI and controller setup for consoles. I don't think the UI worked too well on the console version so they scrapped it and are overhauling it to be more console friendly. Just a guess of course.

would you like to play the console version of the game as the same state as the PC version?

Im okay with waiting, but there has been no real update since September. Considering that the original pushback date was December which obviously isn't going to be met, some form of update would be nice.

Actually last update on a date was in may when they said six months. That puts it at end of November early December. The most recent update wasn't a date or confirmation of further delay but rather reassurance that they are still hard at work on it. I'm not saying you didn't pay attention to live streams from zos or official news...but have you? I see this too often. People either lack information or are fed wrong information and then pass it on to everyone else. It has been my experience with zos through beta up until now that they give information when hey have something to announce. So rather than beg for info and make assumptions people need to learn patience and learn that the last info they gave is the most recent update. Now if you guys asked for something more practical like what's the status on console's graphics MD of you could get a trailer or something that would make more sense to pass time with than repeatedly asking them the same question that has already been answered.

XBox users already have a subscription fee to play online games, so I don't know how well another $15 a month fee will be received. All console manufacturers have a lengthy certification process that can take several months.

The console players that I know are wary of buying buggy games and ESO doesn't have a good reputation in this area.

In my opinion, I think it would be wise for ZOS to wait until the champion system and the new solo and group zones are online.

So I'm thinking if a console version does happen, it will be late spring next year or possibly summer. The developers already have their hands full with the current version.

I played ESO from lvl 1 to VR12 using only my DS4 controller. I even managed to complete AA and participate in PVP regularily.

Im assuming that if I can set up a half decent controller layout that didnt even utilize the touch pad, then ZoS should have no problem doing it for consoles.

Same here, although I use a PS3 controller and only use the keyboard for pressing #4,#5 and toggling the UI on and off when I want to take a screenshot. I otherwise don't use it.

Ditto. I used a 360 controller and Xpadder. Can do pretty much anything except chat (have a wireless keyboard for that). Never had any problems in PvE or PvP. If ZOS wants any insights on a good controller layout, I'd be happy to send them my xpadder profile. They really just need to add in some good voice chat capabilities to replace typing, and it wouldn't be that hard to port ESO to console.
