Is there any other Weapon Ability that is close to performing/outperforming Impulse and its morphs?

But why does that matter at all? When 3/4 classes have at least one strong PBAoE magicka skill? The only one that doesn't is the sorc, which is why sorcs use impulse and become batmen in droves.
NBs use Sap, DKs use Inhale, Temps use Blazing Shield & Solar Barrage. All of them are better PBAoEs in many many ways, for PvP at least. Not to mention that you don't have to slot a destro staff to slot these skills, so in fact by using impulse you sacrifice the survivability of S&B.

You must go back to the glory days of uncapped Inhale for it to compete and even outperform Elemental Ring /reminisce
