What is up with the download speed of the update? I have a 1Gb/1Gb fiber connection and always have the download in less than 30 minutes. I have been at this for two hours now and only have 10%. I've tested my connection and that is not the issue.

I could have flown to Texas, picked up the update on DVD and flown back in the same amount of time it's going to take for me to download this thing...ugh...

There are others in my guild having the same issues as me. Got a 5gig download, then a 20gig download and now another 5gig download. If this thing starts the 20 again I may cry.

Yeah, at 350kB/s it will take most of the day to download this. Fortunately, I only do it once and after that I copy it from one system to the next.

ZOS could save the network costs and speed things up by simply mailing us a Flash drive.

Oops. Launcher noticed I was writing this. Down to 220kB/s.

I suppose the good news is that it doesn't hinder my use of the internet.

I always get the patches, even large ones in 30 minutes or less. Something isn't right and why did I get another 20gigs? I think my game is toast..ugh. Not sure what to do now.

I started downloading the patch at 11 AM. After 'finishing' the download, I had to repair, and it seems to be re-downloading everything (after several variations of 'verifying' and 'checking' the game)... now the server is offline again and it's 4:30 in the afternoon.

My 'net speed is always kinda slow so I expected it to take a while, but.... wow, this is unusual, even for me. Heh. XD

I never got the chance to play or anything. I got a 5 gig patch then it immediately went into the 20 gig download and then another 5 gig which it is on now. I don't understand why my speeds are so slow. I have never, ever had speeds this slow. Now with the server offline I get to fight with another download? I guess I should be happy if that is all I have to deal with when/if this finishes.

I haven't been able to play at all today either, so I feel your pain. Haha.

Still looking forward to seeing the changes when I can finally get on, though I have to admit the downloading puts a damper on other online activities for me until it's done. XD

So after one 5 gig download, one 20 gig download, one 5 gig download, 5 gig download and then the last patch and 10 hours later I could play!

So glad I am paying for 1Gbps/1Gbps fiber and no it wasn't my connection.

it is a 5-6 gig download, then applying that patch to all the files is about 22GB(that is not a download it is un-packing and over writing files).,...but after that it wants to download 6GB all over again...very frustrating...if anyone knows a fix for this(ZOS seems to not care) please share it....it happens almost every single patch for some of us.

Hey there @justinbarrett,

Today's patch contains multiple updates, so you may see multiple downloads and applications occur when updating. In total, 1.5.2 is about 12GB, so going through the download twice makes sense.

There are three separate downloads, a 5 GB download, one that is a couple dozen megabytes, and another one that is 6 GB. I think the total Update size is in the range of 13GB.

Inbetween each one is an "Applying patch" phase that looks like a download but is not. The first one is around 22GB.

It was interesting the 20 gig download came in light lightning and I had it in minutes. The other 5 gig downloads averaged 10kB/s. Someone might want to see why the servers that fed these smaller downloads was having such a hard time sending them out.

It's embarassing how slow the internet in UK is. Now in London I have 600KB/S Down LOL. Thats like from 10 years ago

. Back in my old country, what you would call a third world country, the slowest and cheapest you can find right now is 100Mbps or 12.5MB/S and it costs 11USD or 6.8GBP per month while the fastest one is 500Mbps or 62.5MB/S and costs 25.4 USD or 15.85GBP

it amazes me how many people do not read what the launcher is doing....that 20-22 gb segment is NOT downloading but installing or applying the patch...but this patch is huge and should have been handled differently imo, maybe pre patching or something...I am still downloading.

I've seen "applying" on the launcher before and everything that hit my system yesterday said downloading. I know how the patches work so seeing nothing but downloading added to the issues yesterday because I expected to see applying at some point. When the game is applying the patch you cannot pause the launcher. All day I had the option to pause and could do so. Anyway maybe they will work out the issues for the next update so there won't be threads about it.

I had the "PLAY" button option available to me after it took nearly 11hrs I have a horrible connection in this area but the download finally finished and then applied... I watched it, but instead of hitting PLAY I restarted the launcher, to make sure it was all complete and check any news update, and then saw the EU server was going offline.. but then the launcher started to download another 4.4GB I think it was... I followed the help section tip and hit REPAIR and it verified and checked the download, but then it started to download 30G and that was over 12hrs ago.

Even if the patch is 12GB why do I have 17.6GB left to download?

i have like 300kbps speed
but when i turn off my router and put internet directly in the network card..
it raises like to 10-14 mbps and i download the patch pretty fast

Well, after 24+ hours, finally could hit "Play"

Got Error 11.

Sigh...

Tried all the "fixes", no fix

Tried repair.. against my better judgement.. just like last so-called update... entire effing Game starts to download.

So at least another 24+ hours to go...

Daoc launcher didn't have this type of problem, even AOC didn't, Warhammer didn't, SWTOR didn't.... etc ad nauseum...

Yeah I am doing a repair as my sounds are all messed up. Took about 10 minutes for me to verify, repair then verify again. Sorry you are waiting another day @Romo.

I have the same issue as Romo. I posted above what was going on and now I just cancelled the repair... hit PLAY get error (11) I was at 32% downloaded of the entire game before I just tried it and then after hitting repair again... I get to download the 24GB's all over again from the start, ignoring that I just downloaded 32% of it - and that was since I'd finished downloading and installing the patch last night.... wth?

I hit Repair:
-Verifying 30.5GB (100%)
-Downloads 2.19MB
-Checking Download 24874.19MB (100%)
-Downloading.... 24872.00MB (from 0%)

If I even download the entire game again, having lost it all for no apparent reason, how am I to be sure it will even work then? How is this even possible?

I was downloading the patch between 0-20kB/s.

And now I'm downloading at full speed and it doesn't do anymore "WebGet Request failed".

As most virus checkers will 'slow' a download as they want to scan it as its downloading.

So by telling your virus checker to 'not file scan' your ESO directory (you can turn this back on after the patch is down) this may help.
