Bot situation In game.

How's the bot situation in game presently ? Played for maybe a hour about a month after launch and it was crazy. In the one hour I played Had flying bot/ underground bots tapping all the resources nodes before I could reach them. In that hour of fruitless running to nodes ( all types) think I was able to get 6 ore and 4 timber.
Really want to give the game a second chance but rampaging bot swarms is a deal breaker.

✭✭✭Bots have been dramatically reduced, if not almost completely eliminated.
Have not received an obnoxious gold spam mail in months.
Have not seen Zone chat spammed with gold selling in months.
ZOS implemented a limit on character deletions, this feature has done much to help the game.
Hope you enjoy giving the game another go without the mess.

I understand that bots were a major concern early on (from posts like yours that I've read here on the boards) but whatever action ZOS took seems to have effectively eliminated the problem.4 -

seneferab16_ESO✭✭✭I saw a superspeed one in a VR5 area a couple of weeks ago and nodes have been behaving oddly in Cyrodiil so I suspect there's some underground botting going on there too.

✭They really solved that problem for the most part. It will always be an ongoing battle but ZOS has this particular situation firmly in hand.2 -
Gillysan✭✭✭✭You will see a lot more nodes now, huge difference in harvesting. However, now there is the problem of Emperor macro farmers. There is a loop hole of people sitting in a fort, aimed at a wall, repeatedly throwing an attack on it.
Weapon swapping is better, not yet perfected. Broken skills are being tracked down (the same issue that GW2 went through if you were there). Penetration trait appears to be broken as in OP, but being looked at. Quests are mostly fixed, have only encountered a glitch here and there that relogging fixed.
Server performance, getting better but if you ask me this is the biggest problem right now. EU people seem to have more problems that NA.
Then there is the dramatic discussions of the month, feel free to jump into any thread about it! The interface complaints, the vet level questing (my advice, don't level fast and let other people trouble shoot it

✭I haven't seen a bot or a gold spam in a few months. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have played many MMO's and all of which had a global auction house. Besides active devs ban hammering people, the fact that ESO has guild stores makes it harder for bots and gold sellers to make a profit. They can still spam gold regardless, but as far as gathering and putting it all on a global AH and locking a set price that no real person can compete with, it just doesn't happen with the current system. As much as guild stores can be a pain, I think of them as little mom and pop shops instead of the super wal-mart that is the global AH. Anyone who played FFXI should be able to agree how bots can lock down gatherables and crafted items and make it next to impossible for a normal person to compete.Edited by deepseamk20b14_ESO on October 9, 2014 8:41PMHey everyone! Evandus✭✭✭✭Trainer type obvious bots are pretty much non-existent at this juncture. Bots that mimic player actions are alive and well. Though not numerous enough to impact the play of others in any significant way.

Yes, I had observed MANY bots within the game within the first month of release. I believe I had reported at least 5+ one day alone. However, I don't believe I have encountered any for... I don't know... the last 3 months at the least? Yes, it was a problem at the beginning, but I have been playing just fine for QUITE a while. Many chests, mats to farm, etc...
Too bad you quit so soon buddy! It was "nipped in the bud" not too long after you decided to leave.

The breaking point for me was when I logged in to find 17 spam messages in my inbox at once.

Oh gawed buddy! You can't avoid that crap. Sorry. I know what you mean. Although it has lessened VERY much since first couple months... Inferior guilds still attempting to hit up all the newbs (or new alts) within banks and the like to join their guilds are still going on. I just ignore player. However, it would be nice to ignore guild too since they are a crap guild anyway if that's how they need to gain members.

✭✭✭✭There's enough of an in game economy now and assistance via player guilds that the market the bots had isn't really there as much now.
Too many other ways to rush to end game without B2P...not to mention the various CC fraud that probably took place shortly thereafter for anyone that actually got sucked in.Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS0 -

Not sure if it was zenimax or this game was not worth it to the gold sellers, either way one of the most bot/spam free MMOs I have played in years now. Can't speak for cyrodil which has some hacker issues. others can talk on that better0

I think ZOS did a great job eradicating them.

To be fair, with the recent wave of credit card fraud across the board, it's entirely possible the botters weren't the ones that got to the cards first.1 -
