Bots have been dramatically reduced, if not almost completely eliminated.

Have not received an obnoxious gold spam mail in months.
Have not seen Zone chat spammed with gold selling in months.

ZOS implemented a limit on character deletions, this feature has done much to help the game.

Hope you enjoy giving the game another go without the mess.

I've been playing ESO since late July and haven't seen a bot yet.

I understand that bots were a major concern early on (from posts like yours that I've read here on the boards) but whatever action ZOS took seems to have effectively eliminated the problem.

EQ2 still has bots. They'll continue as long as they can get away with it.

They really solved that problem for the most part. It will always be an ongoing battle but ZOS has this particular situation firmly in hand.

You will see a lot more nodes now, huge difference in harvesting. However, now there is the problem of Emperor macro farmers. There is a loop hole of people sitting in a fort, aimed at a wall, repeatedly throwing an attack on it.

Weapon swapping is better, not yet perfected. Broken skills are being tracked down (the same issue that GW2 went through if you were there). Penetration trait appears to be broken as in OP, but being looked at. Quests are mostly fixed, have only encountered a glitch here and there that relogging fixed.

Server performance, getting better but if you ask me this is the biggest problem right now. EU people seem to have more problems that NA.

Then there is the dramatic discussions of the month, feel free to jump into any thread about it! The interface complaints, the vet level questing (my advice, don't level fast and let other people trouble shoot it ), the pvp balance, stamina builds. Take your pick.

Gold spammers need people to sell gold to. The demand has probably gone so low it's not worth it.

Yes, I had observed MANY bots within the game within the first month of release. I believe I had reported at least 5+ one day alone. However, I don't believe I have encountered any for... I don't know... the last 3 months at the least? Yes, it was a problem at the beginning, but I have been playing just fine for QUITE a while. Many chests, mats to farm, etc...

Too bad you quit so soon buddy! It was "nipped in the bud" not too long after you decided to leave.

Oh gawed buddy! You can't avoid that crap. Sorry . I know what you mean. Although it has lessened VERY much since first couple months... Inferior guilds still attempting to hit up all the newbs (or new alts) within banks and the like to join their guilds are still going on. I just ignore player. However, it would be nice to ignore guild too since they are a crap guild anyway if that's how they need to gain members.

the gold selling/bot population very minimal now. Not sure if it was zenimax or this game was not worth it to the gold sellers, either way one of the most bot/spam free MMOs I have played in years now. Can't speak for cyrodil which has some hacker issues. others can talk on that better

Too many other ways to rush to end game without B2P...not to mention the various CC fraud that probably took place shortly thereafter for anyone that actually got sucked in.

To be fair, with the recent wave of credit card fraud across the board, it's entirely possible the botters weren't the ones that got to the cards first.
