Why do i have a good, excuse awesome computer and $90per month super cable internet, if im going to be in the same boat as all these people with bad computers? This has been a problem for me since April.

Are these patches some kinda "game will be only as latency free as the weakest computer" methodology?

My middle of the road I5/7870 rig runs this game just fine.

Our computers have probably learned to /facepalm at the coding they're being asked to execute. It's evolution, they're developing a sense of humour out of necessity.

It doesn't take a $2,000 rig to run this game. I run this game just fine on a rig that I built 7 years ago. Yes, this game has some issues, but I'd wager that a lot of players who are getting bad performance probably have 200 things running in the background or have other programs open at the same time and still trying to play.

I don't care if you have a 16-core processor, this game isn't coded to run on more than 1 or 2. Also, having a $1,000 video card doesn't mean much either because, again, the bottleneck is at the CPU.

The card does help making it look purty though. All dem polygons gotta get rendered somehow.

It's because the game/servercode fails to cater for all hardware combinations and is why some players get better or worse performance with a certain build regardless if they have the best gaming rig or a mediocre one. Personally I get roughly ever second build working good, which of this last one, my performance went down again.

I played another mmo where they really put effort in optimizing the code for the majority of players and it worked just fine. Whether Zenimax does or doesn't have the knowledge of how to do it, or the code itself simply can't be optimized more - who can tell...

I built a top of the line computer for this game. Best of everything. I am so disappointed in what I refer to as Elder Loading Online. All I do is watch the load screen. All I do is crash and have to watch the load screen. Generic. That's all I can say for this game on every level. Generic.

Not really. I can OC my i5 750 to pretty good speeds and it makes little difference. My GTX 780 has to feed a 2560x1600 display, and really that's why I have a GTX 780.

I'm really curious about what all the crashes are about. I have yet to experience any. The only time I've been kicked from game is from the AFK timer.

Not saying this is a non-issue, just wondering why I haven't experienced something many others have? Anyone know where the server are located fro NA?

Most of the bad performance is from PVP not PVE..... This is lag is not related to the computer ... Its the game servers...

What you see on bad computers - the good performance - is an unexpected behavior, a bug. This bug is being addressed with every patch. So don't worry, your good computer is just fine.

I have an awesome computer, but $200 internet (700+ms latency FTW)...and my game runs fine. Maybe you just need to spend more $$$ on internet.

700 ms latency?! Some EU folks were raving at the 140-160 ms latency it took them to reach the EU server back when it was still in Dallas, TX.

Anyhow, having a "fast" computer and a "fast" and expensive internet line doesn't mean squat when the peering (data exchange) between the customer's ISP and the ISP (Level 3) of ZOS's data center is FUBAR. A saturated router port leads to packet drops, which in turn leads to TCP connection latency, Level 3 said so themselves.

I would say, compared to some games, that the client is fairly well optimized for high latency connections...

It's all about driver comparability and not so mush hardware. So when it comes to avoiding most bugs in PC games is to use "standard" equipment as games are optimized after what most players use. That is way it can be a problem if you build your own super gaming computers with odd hardware choices. Just because the game engine is not optimized to the new very rarely used drivers.

PS: Your latency have more to do with where you physically live then the speed of your Internet connection. So if you live (your IRL house address) far from your ISP's hub (network backbone) it does not matter if you have a 10 MB/s, 100 MB/s or a 1000 MB/s connection as your ping will suck anyway.

PPS: Maybe it would be a good idea to see if you can change ISP. That could give you a better ping...But test how good your latency is first at www.pingtest.net/ for an example to see if the problem is on your end first.

No need of a really good net connection for this game. I live in the middle of nothing and the only internet connection we have here is a 2mb!
I still got 60 ms ping on the server (EU)and i can play even in large pvp battles without lag....
Actually i use a vpn to prevent my isp to throttling my net but that' all....
my rig even it is pretty old (3 years) i've got an i7 3820 with 2 gtx 660 and it is enought for the game
