I like the orb, and it is vital info in pvp to know that simply walking near someone is going to break your stealth as a visual cue, from a greater distance than most people. It's not like we have buffs/debuff indicators to tell us... we were told we should rely on visual cues. I don't care if they change it into a stationary pink teddy bear floating above people's heads with a rainbow unicorn hat on its head, but there needs to be some way to tell other than guesswork.
Why the hell should the guys that sneak be able to know that I can detect them? Really ? .When you try to surprise attack gank someone, maybe there should be a chance that you fail. Sneaking should be risky, The light effects on my arms and eyes should be enough if not to much of a give away.
It doesn't even play that way most of the time though. The inner light user will usually be hidden also and you will not see his Disco Ball unless you have your own. I had plenty of encounters where I detected a sneak walking by a couple of meters away oblivious to my presence (until my Ambush)
If you're that close other players can actually hear the soundFX of the magelight, so even though they can't see you if they're using game audio they can hear you. Just a heads up for those that don't know.
FixedThis is just false, though always in PVE situation you won't see the ball spinning around other players, likely it is because they popped it before you were within that zone. However in Cyrodiil I can never see the magelight circling around players.madstoogb16_ESO wrote: »If I see a mage/whatever with it on I tend to avoid them. If it had no animation.. just be stupid.
Fun fact:
You cannot see that ball!
Stop inventing stuff...
Only the caster himself can see it!
It is invisible for everyone else exept people who are grouped with him.

This. In PvP the orb lets me know not to get to close to that player as he can possibly break my stealth.

I foresee seizures in the upcoming patch.

Even if it did change to a shining light from within you, wouldn't you still have to produce as much light to get the same radius for "unstealthing" enemy players? If your character was glowing like a human lightbulb it seems to me it would be just as easy as if you had the "disco ball" orbiting around you.
I actually like the visual, right out of the original Oblivion and Skyrim games.
The only other thing to do to show you have a light shining all the time would be to make the character glow, and I tell ya, I'm freaking tired of Twilight. It's bad enough in the real world, the last thing we need is vamps running around glowing in ESO. <shudder>

The particle FX and light will be scaled down in both size and intensity so it will be a bit softer and less distracting overall.
