Should the disco ball be removed from Inner Light?

Gosh yes, please get rid of it.

My eyes already bleed every day because of this god damned thing, I'm sure eye cancer will follow soon.

Or make it optional, so people can decide themselves whether they prefer the magical look of this thing circling around (hey, the first couple of minutes even I thought it was cool). I definitely despise it by now.
English is not my native language. Please bear with me if spelling, grammar or word choice is not correct.

I voted to get rid both because it blinds me AND because the droning sound it makes drives me mad.

Instead they should just make that aura/glow emanating from you a little bit more pronounced. You can always check your skill bar to see if it's on or not.

And please, please make it silent ....

Edit: Good initiative btw. I like :)

The eyes and your action bar are a dead giveaway. I doubt anyone gauges whether its on or not by looking at anything but the action bar anyway. There is no way that ball is good for anything.

    Fun fact:
    You cannot see that ball!
    Stop inventing stuff...

Only the caster himself can see it!
It is invisible for everyone else exept people who are grouped with him.

This is the dumbest myth surrounding this.

I don't see that this ball should be a problem for you because you must be nearly legally blind. Yes you can see other people's magelight.

It already needs a nerf to exclude NB cloak (a less than 3 second skill) and just apply to normal stealth. Remove that animation and I'd simply quit PVP. No question about it. It'd be the last straw for a lot of people I'm sure. So if you want to kill PVP quicker than ZOS is doing it themselves... keep demanding more ridiculous stuff like this for easymode sorc class (yes I know it's mage guild tree).

I hope your screenreader correctly translated all this from text to voice.

    This statement is completely false.

    Ah ok... trolling. Cool.

For those not in the know and being mislead by trolls.. yes you can see other people's magelight. Of course you can LOL. It's how I avoid being detected in PVP. It's the only way I avoid it. Remove the ball - I quit PVP along with most other NBs I imagine.

Don't let the trolls convince you to keep arguing for things that will destroy this game and drive entire classes away. I'm not sure what their motive is.

I shall perhaps post a screenshot to totally debunk the myth. We really don't need destructive trolling like this.

How about this; Keep the animation the same but remove the ball and apply the lighting effect directly to your character while leaving the hands and eye effects intact.

I'll swear I came across a couple of guys using Magelight yesterday who were not grouped with me.

I remember thinking how unusual it was to have 3 people with magelight sneaking about together. At that point I don't think I'd joined a group. Maybe wrong ofc

EDIT: - I just checked. Absolutely for sure, you can see another players Magelight (your side ofc) without being grouped.

For the people saying its not fair to stealth users because they need to see some indication that the player is using a stealth breaker... there is still glowing blue eyes and fists! You just need to look a bit more carefully. The skill is called Inner Light, represented by the glow. Why an (annoying) outer orb is still there, I have no idea.

Give it a toggle that you can turn on and off. For someone like me who gets migraines, well it will cause you do turn it off when you aren't actually going to be using it. I love the glow on the eyes and arms but the orb is a joke.

At this point its safe to conclude that anyone who voted no, with the exception of the extreme minority who actually like the disco ball for its esthetics have no understanding of the thread they voted in or the skill it discussed.

If you really can't see how a giant glowing rotating disco ball makes the skill easier to spot for enemy players who are trying to stealth, then I'm really not sure what to say to you.

I was doing some cross-faction fun with an AD guy I know the other day. He's a NB and he wanted to show me how hard his opener could hit from stealth (though all he said to me was "i want to show you something"). I had Inner Light active and he kept getting detected every time he came near me so he couldn't show me his combo.

He said, "I can't figure out why my stealth isn't working." I told him, "You should have told me you were trying to stealth. I've got Inner Light up."

But there was a bug (that happens most on high latency campaigns) where Inner Light wasn't showing up for him (he couldn't see the ball.) This made it incredibly hard for him to know that I had the skill active and if the skill always worked that way, Mage Light would be OP and stealth would be useless.

Guy i got it, let's make crystal fragments an instant cast, instant crit for 300% damage IF the target you are using it on is not a sorc.
and cost 5 magica and reduce the cost of the next spell by 1000 magica and increase magica regeneration by 100% in combat, while buffing a sorc. Spell damage by 100. Also While slotted does the same as magelight does WITH NO animation.

So magelight has to be only used by non sorc.

i think this will work, ZOS you have more work to do on the sorc, it's not nearly as good as it should be.

First, he was obviously a terrible nightblade if he was hanging around you having a conversation no less and did not notice the glowing eyes and flaming hands. On top of that he couldn't "figure out why his stealth was not working" lol. This is your rebuttle?
Secondly, as other knowledgeable posters have already stated, the ball is not visible to anyone but yourself.

Your premise that mage light is not used to turn the tables on stealthers by revealing them as they approach but is in fact designed to act as a deterrent, making you an undesirable target due to the large glowing ball floating around you is utterly ridiculous.

A smart player upon approach while stealthed would notice the glowing eyes and flaming forearms. This is how you detect players with Inner light because the ball is not visible. It is not a bug. The crit bonus on inner light is so good they had to nerf it so that it announces itself to other players with the glow effects.
