I am not a social butterfly, nor do I rely on others to create for me the things I need in playing this game with each level I gain. I don't like grouping with others and I don't like PvP. Maybe long ago, but not anymore. I'm a loner, I like it that way. Keeps me from getting pissed off with others that do stupid things without thinking. Seems that everytime I purchase a really good game I like, it goes all out PvP or Grouping in order to get anything decent. Excuse me developers.. NOT EVERYONE is a pvp'ing groupie. Now that you've spent so much time in this area, please spend the same amount of time in the Single PvE area of the game where we too can get some decent stuff? Every danged treasure chest I come across is simple only and I'm in VR levels. Everything is simple with crap for loot.... what gives? Ok, I've ranted which I normally never do. Doesn't mean I feel better for it though.

    You're kidding, right?

    PVP has... Cyrodiil.
Solo PVE has... several hundred hours of questlines and 18 zones (including coldharbour and lower/upper craglorn).
Group pve has.... 7 vet dungeons, a bunch of craglorn delves, 3 raids, 2 challenge 10-stage 10-boss arenas, and for leveling a bunch of worldbosses and dungeons, dolmens, delves, etc.

And you think solo pve is the weak link in here? If you want more than that in an MMORPG (online multiplayer game) that you can do solo, you might want to go grab a bunch of singleplayer titles off of a steam sale... because solo PVE has an enormously disproportionately high amount of content here already for an MMO. If all you want to do is stay alone and never play with anyone, why are you even in an online game in the first place?

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

I am also looking forward to solo content, but I have discovered, that with the right build it is possible to solo many parts of Craglorn as well. So that's actually nicer, because it is more challenging to do solo than dedicated solo content would be.

What I am really hoping for is something like the Dragonstar Arena for solo players.

Once they get PVP balanced, I think an Arena for PVP would be much better than an Arena for solo. However, I doubt that this would hold the attention of the PVP players for very long.

I think they could adapt Dragonstar to allow individual characters if they wanted to. It would have to be a separate experience, though.

Why not both? Arenas for groups, pvp and solos? :-)

Well, to be honest, I think a separation is needed for Achievement purposes.

Also, when I think of implementing Arenas, I am really thinking back to the original concept for TES 1. It was a gladiator game, not a roleplaying game. The concept fits well into ESO as a series of PVP tournaments that roll up into a final tournament.

As a solo PVE, I fear that this would come off looking like a single player game feature. I fear it would look like the ESO version of the Oblivion arena.

Aptly called Arena. And yes you are right, that is the most TES thing possible.

I suppose something like what you want is inevitable, even if I want all pvp to be AvAvA.

I have to say that I somewhat agree with the OP, however I do enjoy PvP and would like to do Dragonstar Arena at some point with some guildes, and do enjoy doing group dungeons from time to time. However with that said I do find the lack of end-game solo content to be annoying. I realize during QuakeCon they mentioned the next PvE zone Wrothgar but from other interviews stating they are going to focus on group updates first only tells me that Wrothgar is far away. Don't get me wrong I like the changes that this new update brought and I really do enjoy the changes to WW, it made me play my DK again for the first time in a while soooooo much fun, but overall I just don't find much exciting about Craglorn... you HAVE to group to do it... (enter people who say this is an MMO stop crying).

I have to say that if this game doesn't get some new solo content soon then I'm going to take a break from it... (not rage quit... not unsub but just take a break) in order to play other games coming out and I'll come back when we have new solo content.

My main gripe is that the PvP'ers have caused Zen to nerf my Storm Atronauch.
It was hard enough for my sorc taking down multiple opponents (AoEs not withstanding) but losing taunt from the Atronauch just blew my strategy out of the water. I still manage a public dungeon now and then, but the cost in soul gems is steep.

Exactly why do you think that the Storm Atro losing its taunt was due to PvP?

Taunts don't even work in PvP...

This was 100% a PvE change. PvE'ers got your Atro nerfed, silly.

btw this whole groupers vs solo'rs debacle could have easilly been avoided,
if Zeni just implemented a simple (knock on wood, knowing how Zeni implements new stuff and fixes) scaling system based on your party size, If you do it solo, it will be a bit harder, and you get the regular loot, if you group, there will be a bit more adds spawning, health of bosses adjusted, but it will still be a bit easyer then if you do it with less people, and the loot could be a bit better, so the same zone can cather to solo'rs and groupers, and then there wouldnt be such a roadblock as there is now (aka craglorn)

and open world events (such as anchors, and wich are otherwise completely missing, wich could keep the other zones alive combined with character scaling) should scale with the amount of players arround/participating, that this was not in from the start is beyond me

I will never say they shouldn't focus on the Multiplayer aspect of an MMO, but I agree with the OP to the extent that I will always want more PvE content, whether intended as for groups or not.

My playtimes can be limited (my problem, not theirs) which often dictates (my own enforcement) how I play or what I can participate in. I've never been much of a PvPer, but even Group Dungeons can sometimes be challenging when I often have to leave the keyboard at a moment's notice, and often without one at all. Small children can do that for you, lol

I like to play solo and take my time. The few times I played in a group they ran through so fast I could hardly keep up, it was NO fun to play like that.

Prolly wasn't fun for them to have to wait for you.

This game is a solo player's paradise, so far as MMOs go.

Name one other AAA MMO that has forced-solo play as part of the main quest.

    <crickets>

lol I solod GW2 to, only grouped for group dung or WvW
thing is, they had a SCALING SYSTEM, so you also could do it in groups

I'd imagine that they didn't even notice.

The hard part of grouping is finding a group that will tolerate different play styles, particularly people who like to, you know, read stuff and listen to dialog. Funny, though, "speedy" people always have time to fiddle with treasure chests... Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that people have different priorities; if possible, find that out up front, save everyone the headache.

The other problem is that sometimes without knowing it you group with people who have run the dungeon before and so aren't interested in lingering. Make an effort before you start to talk to them and find out. Maybe it's not the group for you. Nothing wrong with that, either.

Granted that "group" ideally implies some commonality of approach and purpose, unless you're with guildies or friends, you're unlikely to get that with a PUG. The best thing to do is just go with the flow and not have unrealistic expectations.
