Changing alliances, should this option be available at a certain point?

Yes, I know, there are other threads about this - but I failed to find a poll about it. See, we experience the other alliance's POVs. It makes sense, in my mind, people may want to change alliances: that she-elf queen is hot and not an evil monster as I thought, the Tribunal is composed by false gods, etc. So, what do you think?

✭I am not sure.Just chose this because of an absence of "yes - other". I think it should be a one time thing for each alliance - once you betray an alliance you can't go back, so essentially each character would get 2 betrayals. Have it be a questline, but once you betray a faction you should be unable to return. Imo of course.3 -

Faction pride was dead in this game from the moment they decided to make working for other factions practically mandatory for PvE-ers. I wouldn't change my faction, I'm happy with where my characters are, but having this option after completing another faction's storyline would make sense.5 -

Which only leaves switching for PVP, which I can understand, but would probably just mean people would shift to the winning side, making the PVP even more unbalanced.People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!

✭✭I wouldn't mind having the chance to join a new alliance / leave my own and become an outsider.
But this would need to have a really long quest chain and consequences. It shouldn't be something you can buy for money or do on the fly. I am thinking of several days of in game time here and this would require decision making and not XP from quests.
Based on how you perform - if you prove worthy enough to a new alliance or might do things that your old wont tolerate so that you are kicked out.4 -

Personally I have one toon for each alliance (PvE); PvP, just one alliance. At a number of points along the Alliance War quests you'll see your enemy -whoever it might be- doing some pretty nasty things. So, I guess players might want to say goodbye to their bosses after wearing their enemies' shoes - especially if the player enjoys the RPG part of the game and the toon has a certain set of inclinations (towards palladin, for example). All Alliances could be accused of war crimes (yeah, I know, its not realistic, its not nowadays, its Tamriel and stuff) but there's at least one episode that smells worse than the others, for example.
I do placed a "No. I'm afraid it could damage PvP even more." option, but IMHO its a weak argument. Troll camps and spies are already there; people just build an alt at another alliance, log in and do what they do. The damage is already there, I believe.
Audigy's "changing colors quest" idea seems good. Something at Cyrodill, perhaps like (killable) shady NPC recruiters giving you a "kill 50 players from your alliance" quest. Of course, you'll become a target for those at your side too.
What would be your reaction if you saw a toon at Cyrodill with a "Traitor of the [add your alliance here]" tag?
Hell, I even think players should have the opportunity to become rogue bandits or small warlords at PvP, capture something and build their own little kingdom. Play as you want, right?

Well I don't agree by paying gold but I like your statement. Maybe on occasion a few assassins from the faction you defected from spawn close by. Maybe not instant aggro though.

As long as PVP buffs can be applied on PVE, I'm voting no because everybody will move and I'll be the first one to do it.1 -

What I do see being a problem is people chasing the alliance that wins all the time to get better PvP bonuses.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

On the other hand, I am convinced, however, that bonus from PvP campaing A should not be ported to campaing B.0 -

I see it as an ok option but for some reason it doesn't sit perfectly with me. I don't really care about it and this is coming from a guy who made the character he had been wanting to while he was following the game on AD and had to made a completely different character on DC because it was were his friends were. I probably still would have made my characters on different alliances to play with my friends even if this dynamic was implemented; but I also have two DKs, one for PvP and one PvE in a game where I could easily do both on on character, I guess I just like dedication.Masters of the Imperial Harem

But once you decide your class... Something a bit odd, since a full (or mostly) stamina toon can become Master Wizzard. If the toon will be survivable / efficient, that's another discussion.
Personally, I would wellcome much more freedom of choices. Yes, I know, its easy to say. Implementing, bringing it to a game, on the other hand... But aniway, I would love to be able to become a complete rogue, for example, no alliance at all. Form a small group, conquer a dungeon or goblin/bandit camp. Or build a vampire or werewolf covenant at one of the undead spwaning sites.Then, attack everybody else or just try to survive as long as possible.
