ZOS, afaik has never stated that the result of the stacking was intended. I've only seen one forum post provided as "evidence" but it only addressed the fact that the stacking wasn't consistent; sometimes the bonus would not be applying, and that was the bug being addressed.
Also seen the same ticket reply which says nothing definitive and leaves plenty of wiggle room for devs. It essentially said that, at the time, current plans did not involve nerfs but that if that were going to happen, it'd be in the forums in patch notes.
Let the horse rest in peace, please.

Except it only says it removes the penalty once and that's for the shadow dancer raiment set bonus. Night's silence set increases stealth by 60%, and dark stalker says increases stealth speed and increases the speed to enter stealth. So do tell me about normal english usage.
In my mind, it is pretty obvious that Dark stalker should cancel Night's silence out.
Stealth speed is what? 50% of normal speed. So if you increase that by 60% you are making that, what? 80% of normal speed while stealthed? Dark stalker removes the penalty, putting you at 100% speed, so it basically eclipses Night's silence.
If you thought that it was the other way around, that you could remove the penalty and then ADD to your speed after that, then I guess I just dont think like you. Because to me its obvious stealth should never be that fast, and it was always kind of obvious to me that Night's silence was a way for humans to compete with vampires for stealth speed.

It's obvious to me that you:
1. Didn't know a thing about the Night's Silence set before the devs lowered its original advertised speed bonus and made the set actually work.
2. That you obviously know sooo much about what goes on in the minds of the developers that maybe you should be one. Of course, I'm joking. Go start your own game and quit complaining about the things other people enjoy about this game that you do not enjoy.
3. You are another of the handful of epeen waving, blubbering nerf-herders calling for bans/nerfs to every piece of game code YOU personally do not use, or like being part of this game.
Ouch. I didn't once complain in this topic, try again.
I also do have a crafted Night's silence set, and used it pre-patch. Try again.
You are so upset that you blindly insult anyone who even slightly disagrees with your opinion on the matter. Good luck bro, I guess you'll have to travel out in the open like everyone else now.

Uh, yeah Stx, you did. Not this thread perhaps, but you harp against EVERYTHING vampire on this forum.
And naah, I'll pass on the traveling in the open thing. What will probably happen is I will either decon my NS set and craft one to boost my weapon critical chance to over 70% like every other fracking twink NB out there, or retire my NB and level my sorc and twink that one out like every other twink sorc skirt/stick in PvP.
Do you NOT see what is happening here? Because of the e-peen waving baddies who just cannot accept someone having a build they don't use doing something they cannot do, we are going to be down to 4 builds/sets, 1 per class, and you won't see anything different.
Whiners who cry "nerf!" ruin MMOs. This isn't the first MMO I've seen it happen in.
OP has a point. Time to nerf magicka regen too.
indigoblades wrote: »With Seducer and other magicka bonus armors, I can stack magicka regin and spell reduction enough to spam anything as fast as cooldown. ................ Thats pretty OP in my opinion but stacking sneak speed for vamp with night silence is out of balance ???? That makes no sense, its an out of combat skill, yet i can stack other things that give me huge PVP in combat advantages ..... I really dont think they have a clue. People asked if the stacking was ok when night silence was released on PTS in 1.3 and Zos said it was working as intended and now they nerf it.
I will just post a question here, for all those who like the stacking of the set, how would you feel if everyone was using it for purposes that was proposed on this forum. Switching to it to travel long distance in stealth then switching out when you get to your destination? Wouldn't this cause a large hindrance for all the stealth attackers, as their will be drastically less visible targets to attack with stealth?

It's known as guerrilla warfare and is a time honored tactic. Used to be both sides of an army would dress up in colorful uniforms and go face off on an open field and just shoot each other. Then somebody got smart and said, "Screw THAT BS!" and started taking shots with their longer ranged squirrely rifles from the cover of the woods. Having to deal with stealthers is just part of combat. Just like those uber-stealthy vamps have to deal with being burned to ash in a matter of mere moments when they ARE caught.
As to switching gear when you get closer to the battle, well you have to let that gear take up space in your inventory AND you have to take the time to switch out at least 5 pieces as a rule. That is plenty of time for someone to catch you, wreck you, and send you back to the rez. I honestly don't see it as a big deal. BUT if ya'll cry about it hard enough I suppose ZoS could put a restriction on Cyrodil that, once you enter the zone, you are in the armor you're in and you can't change it anywhere but your area's stronghold or forward camp.

In pvp gear space isn't all that important, and with addons switching gear is fast, as long as you are out of combat. My comment wasn't about people going into combat, but more using it to get from base to base actually. There were people using the set just to get from one location to the next and avoid conflict on the road. If this got to be a big thing, it would mean very few people for stealth attackers to pick off on the road. I would be most concerned with the side affects this would have on cyrodil not as much as the benefits gained from the increased speed.
Like I said in an earlier post, I think they could of fixed the problem differently ( maybe make it like fiords set for stealth, reduction of sneak cost and a smaller increase in sneak movement), but looking at the longevity of cyrodil I could see this having drastic problems.

Zenimax, please change stealth mechanicsto the same status other MMOGs have. In stealth - 30% run speed. With a bonus either from item bonus or skill bonus stealther can bring up their run speed in stealth to a maximum of 100% of normal run speed. In a lot of other MMO(RP)Gs his works fine since more than 10 years. Period.
No sense and realism are *** excuses. One does not alter game mechanics over them.

Of course you do. Walking through walls/mountains makes no sense and isn't realistic, so they add collision detection. Staying under water for an infinite amount of time makes no sense and isn't realistic (unless you're argonian) so they add some sort of breath meter/system. Teleporting from harvest node to harvest node makes no sense and isn't realistic, so they fix the exploit and ban those who used it.
Sense and realism are extremely good reasons to alter game mechanics. Heck, that *and* balance should be the *primary* reasons to alter game mechanics.

My set is still working, but I'm not a vamp. Maybe your vamp abilities override the set. Or you might want to contact CS. Or you could cure your vampirism. Can't have both.
Firstly, you quoted the wrong person. No sense and realism are *** excuses. One does not alter game mechanics over them.
