Seriously Disappointed

We need better grouping options. Simple as that. A travel-to-player function, which automatically places one in the same phase of the group leader, would help tremendously with grouping efforts. Better rewards are a must as well, so the pool one can draw from increases to a workable size.

This is a new game with single server technology, grouping should be a non-issue, really. But it is, since every damn mechanic disincentivizes grouping from the get go. Most of the disappointment stems from the fact this has been an unadressed issue since beta and was made even worse in an effort to battle bots and exploits.

I know there's something planned for the next few updates, but here's hoping it's not going to be too little too late, because I fear a good bunch of group questers and dungeon runners aren't with us anymore, anyways.

But I'll keep my head high and get that thing done or die trying!:wink:

At the end of the day TS is not an option for many people who play late at night or need to be silent for any other reason.

So if all guilds are TS only.....how do you join a guild ?

But yes I understand elite groups could not function without teamspeak.

    Just listen? O.O

I suggest all that don't want to participate in TS coordination for PVP/PVE to start your own guild and improve your typing WPM.

Just adding to say that another reason I hate TS use nowadays is the prevalence of everyone cussing and the commonality of their drug use. I really can't stand all the cursing as it is, but the drug use comments are just immature.

I don't have any friends (save my husband and my son who don't play). I've never been good at making them or keeping them. Even people I know at work who game don't play ESO.

Well, that's obviously going to be a problem in a "multiplayer" game.

I'm no social butterfly either (and let's be honest, a lot of us in the online world are probably somewhat antisocial), but it's not hard to join guilds - there are always some recruiting in zone chat, and I'm pretty sure there are forums on this very site for that also. Join some guilds, say something friendly in guild chat once in a while, and maybe you'll find that making friends isn't as hard as you seem to think it is.

And btw, there are TONS of guilds that don't require Teamspeak (although I also see no reason why you couldn't wear a headset and just leave one ear out).

it's called a headset. And I am sure you know full well that that baby will get your attention even with it on. (Unless they are running around unattended, in which case, you need to get off the computer and watch them.)

I had to buy a headset for this, took a nice chunk out of my wallet.

You can't do trials or coordinated pvp without voice chat. It just isn't possible. I have left pug trials group because people were refusing to get in ts.

It's a win or lose situation.

Hey, message me in the game. I have not done any Craglorn yet, just visited the town with my VR3 soon to be VR4 NB. My VR3 Sorc should be ready to go over there. My L49 DK is parked under a tree in Auridon as I am not taking him through Caldwell's AD just after my other two AD characters finished it.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Answer: Headphones

If you are concerned that you won't hear your baby you might try headphones with one side slightly off the forward or back. Lets you hear what is going on in the house. ( I have to use this technique when listening to my Wife or I have to be 'present' with things going on in the house.) It works.

I've played since beta. Started my main at early launch. Played through all three factions on the same character. I though being able to do the other factions on one character was cool. Took my time. Explored all the areas. I've avoided PvP because of the imbalance issues, but now that I'm half way through VR11 I can probably survive enough to solo around Cyrodiil and find the things to do solo (dungeons, skyshards, etc.) So there's a little left to do there. Cool.

Having finished the primary game though, I took my first trip to Craglorn. I resisted the temptation to go when it was launched because I wanted to experience the intended (?) progression of the game. (At least the intended progression in the way I perceived it.)

After all this wonderful content that I could make my way through, mostly solo, but with the options of grouping up with nearby allies, I find Craglorn to be a huge disappointment.

I get all starter quests in town. I know Craglorn requires grouping. Ok. Hit up zone chat for a group. Grind groups and time trials. No one interested in running quests. No one interested in just exploring. No one having fun playing the game. But rather low level VR's running in circles between the same 3 mobs, in a group of 12, getting 30k+ exp every 5 minutes. I don't even see how a group running quests in that area could even get to the quest content. The grind groups were competing for the spawns.

This is endgame? What a let down. All that glorious progression through the 3 alliances at my own pace. All to come to a screeching halt, with plenty more road to be traveled, but impassable due to a drastic shift in how the content is presented. And the crappy behavior of the community.

Sorry, but this is hugely disappointing. I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears. I know most of the community doesn't suck. Only the vocal ones. But Craglorn was filled with it tonight. The way the community was acting was awful. To have that overlap with such a drastic shift in how the game is played is just saddening. Because there's so much more content to experience, but no way to do it for players such as myself.

I guess after I find the skyshards and delve the dungeons in Cyrodiil the game really is over. Sad.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I find your candor about the matter of ESO's endgame very refreshing, and the information you provide (as well as others in this thread) to be quite enlightening.

You may have saved me hundreds dollars and who-knows-how-many hours of my time. Thanks again.

I still wonder why multi-player online means forced grouping?
& forced grouping of whole maps/zones just seems designed to alienate or disappoint people.

I know Craglorn is probably off-map for me at this point, since I like to walk places & read books.

it depressingly reminds me of those stupid group instances in LOTRO where not only did you have to have the right number of players, they all had to be the right character classes too.

    @Super_Sonico,

If you want more options to group, message me in game (name's also @leeux there) or add me as friend.

I have a VR2 (halfway through to VR3) in AD alliance and I haven't been to Craglorn yet, but I expect I can be able to assist anyone that needs help with group content in the future.

I'm mostly enjoying the questing in EP lands for now, but I'm always happy to put that aside if favor of group content... I love group content :)

I'm not the best ESO player, but I can heal and do some light tanking when needed.

I normally play around 10:00PM to 1:00AM and on weekends starting at 3:00 PM and up until late night (all times in EST timezone).
