Great post. I really hope we get down to two 30 day campaigns. This PVE call for a buff server is bs... Get your pve out of my pvp!

I agree. How ZoS can be so blind and not see a thread like this and realize their PvE buffs are ruining their PvP. Leave the buffs to pvp home campaign only, no where else.

On the surface this looks like a nice post, but it is not. It is a post about some personal butt hurt that happened that has turned into a very public *** measuring fight that affects everyone that wants t PVP. All it will do is make ZOS implement more rules and restrictions that will limit and water down PVP to the point till all the campaigns will be empty.

This is why I refuse to join and remain loyal to a pvp guild. The fact that I can login and choose where I want to play regardless of which guilds are where makes pvp so much more enjoyable for me.

This whole guild soap opera and dictating where I play would just give me a headache.

After a few days of farming EP at their home keeps, I got several tells from DC pve leaders about getting our alliance a buff server because they had trouble completing trials hard mode without it. So we went and took the buff server, spent a few days defending it, and the EP completely left Thornblade save a few small groups.

And people have scoffed at my suggestion of giving each faction their own locked campaign to use as a buff server in order to eliminate interference from the PVE crowd. This change and its mandatory (?) companion change of buffs not applying to guest campaigns would do wonders for the legitimate PVP campaigns.

Glad guild politics don't effect me.

    Good post OP.

    Thanks :)

No Mercy actually started as a small friends guild from another game. All I did initially was gank and duel. But ganking and dueling with no arenas to test my skills against everyone got boring.

Guild politics is actually a surprisingly fun social aspect of mmo's and the desire to win a campaign or stuff it in another guild's face adds excitement to every keep capture or failure to defend a keep.

It is bs. I really wish buff campaigns would end by cutting down the number of vet campaigns to either 1 or

On another note, buffs from the campaigns are bugged and you get 20% spell crit/weapon crit instead of just 8%.

The reason DC pve guild leaders asked my guild No Mercy for help is because they had difficulty clearing hard modes without these buffs. It's pretty indicative to me these pvp buffs in pve are overpowered as Ive had EP friends tell me that their EP pve guilds have had lots of trouble clearing hard modes since we took bow of shadows. And my DC friends have been clearing ever since without much problem.

Solution, get rid of buffs outside your home campaign. It would make hard modes actually hard. And people would commit to a campaign for real in pvp. And while you're at it reduce the number of campaigns down to 1-2.

    Great post.

It's sad that NA Thornblade primetime has locked AD, locked EP, but 2 bars DC. During that same period, DC has 2-3 bars on Chillrend. Things would be best if DC was able to pop lock Thornblade primetime as well.

Wait, what did I just say? Pop locking all three factions would just bring about the lagfest! Nvm, DC you stay on Chill.

From an EP side of view, I see EG as a very organized guild when it comes to move discretly around the map and hits where it hurts the most. They know how to siege efficiently a keep in no time and make it flips.

Downside is, when they decide to actually follow their own zerg, with amount of players they have, they can easily crash the server doing something that I won't discuss here because I don't want to encourage anyone to crash a server.

In theory, it's not even their fault if the server crashes. It's just a lack of ressources or performances on the server side.

And I think EG is definitely very productive in terms of what they do. I don't run with EG but I worked with them on Thornblade before. And people seem to misunderstand that EG is about 20-30 some Guildies + all the DC pugs online atm. There are level 20's-vr12 pugs with them. So their speed and efficiency is impressive with what they work with.

The reason EG has such a large number of pugs to organize is actually more indicative of the DC side for a failure of more guilds to recruit and organize players.

I admit, NM doesn't recruit much and we're strict on recruitment. So we actually don't organize pugs at all. I appreciate eg's effort in grouping and organizing the newer players and Unaffiliated.

Maybe the problem is DC guilds aren't recruiting enough to spread the numbers out.

Real Timeline of events on Thornblade/Chillrend:
      • Thornblade1.0 starts, balanced fun fights for 2 weeks.
      • 2 weeks later AD/DC grapple for 1st and EP is too far behind to compete.
      • DC takes the Bow of Shadows buff server away from EP
      • Major EP guilds leave Thorn to turn Chillrend into a buff server
      • Without the EP players to keep AD's night crew in check, AD pulls ahead of DC on Thornblade.
      • Much complaining takes place about AD nightcapping the entire map on Thornblade, and EP nightcapping the entire map on Chillrend.
      • Alacrity leaves Thornblade to help AD on Chillrend, since it is now an EP buff server.
      • 1 week passes with much complaining from every faction.
      • Thornblade 1.0 ends in victory for AD, Chillrend 1.0 ends in victory for EP
      • No Mercy goes to help DC on Chillrend
      • Hijinx leaves Chillrend because they cannot pass Crystalized to get Emp.
      • Thornblade 2.0 and Chillrend 2.0 start
      • Chillrend 2.0 is fun and relatively balanced, Thornblade 2.0 is all AD
      • After a few days DC's population grows very high during the day and they start to pull ahead of EP.
      • Venatus comes to Chillrend from Thornblade to help Alacrity and AD.
      • EGL comes to Chillrend from Thornblade because they can't fight the remaining AD on Thornblade, severely tipping the population balance of both servers.
      • Major EP guilds leave Chillrend for Thornblade because they cannot pull ahead of DC or even pull a single Emp.
      • EHJ leaves Chillrend for Thornblade because they cannot pull ahead of No Mercy for Emp.

As of now the major guilds that remain on Chillrend are:
      1. No Mercy [DC]
      2. EGL [DC]
      3. Alacrity [AD]
      4. Venatus [AD]

As of now the major guilds that remain on Thornblade are:
      1. EHJ [DC]
      2. IR [EP]
      3. Hijinx [EP]
      4. Vokundein [EP]
      5. DiE [AD]

Not completely accurate. EG moved to chillrend right at 2.0 launch. Didn't follow anyone. Wanted good fights during NA prime time. Otherwise accurate.

This is why I refuse to join and remain loyal to a pvp guild. The fact that I can login and choose where I want to play regardless of which guilds are where make pvp so much more enjoyable for me.

This whole guild soap opera and dictating where I play would just give me a headache.

This is kind of a misrepresentation, at least some of the PvP guilds go to where the fight is or where there is something to do (like take away a buff server from a faction or whatnot). I can only speak for myself, but I do not feel restricted to a campaign, if anything i/we want to win them all :p but we will go where we expect to find the most enemies to fight (and preferably where there isn't some unstoppable AD zerg already rolling over things... makes it boring). I think for now (as an example) chillrend has been our home because when many of us get home from work the map is mostly blue, with a large blue force on it that we basically always have a target rich environment. Although on occasion things have quieted down, some of us have gone over to Thornblade to mix it up as there can be good fights there as well, its not necessarily set in stone. What makes this whole musical servers annoying is that there are sign

EHJ and EG leadership have bad blood between them. I think that had something to do with EHJ leaving once EG showed up. Its unfortunate that some of the DC leadership holds grudges for months still. Although I was glad to see DC day/night cap guilds finally unite for a few days and make progress in a meaningful campaign. I hope the DC leadership can work together in the future as they did in the beginning of Chill 2.0

To be fair I think the only people who like EG are EG.... :|

This, DC zone chat in both Chillrend and Thornblade is full of EG hate... No one likes them.

Is there a reason for this? I normally run with the EG crew, and the group seems to be pretty productive in the war effort.

A lot of the hate in \zone seems to be because EG isn't everywhere at once. I don't get it. We're all on the same team, right?

From an EP side of view, I see EG as a very organized guild when it comes to move discretly around the map and hits where it hurts the most. They know how to siege efficiently a keep in no time and make it flips.

Downside is, when they decide to actually follow their own zerg, with amount of players they have, they can easily crash the server doing something that I won't discuss here because I don't want to encourage anyone to crash a server.

In theory, it's not even their fault if the server crashes. It's just a lack of ressources or performances on the server side.

Regardless of the benefits EG brings to their realm, people tend to hate EG (myself included) because wherever they go they lag the eff out of the server and tend to be what causes it to crash. Before some EG players freak out, I am not commenting on intent, whether its on purpose or not is not an issue I am trying to make here (it doesn't matter), the fact of the matter is, however, that once EG shows up, the game becomes unplayable. That is *mostly* not your fault, but you do choose to zerg up so there is at least a portion of the blame to go on you and the way you play exacerbates the issue, but in the end most of the portion is likely on Zeni. Choosing to zerg up to that extent knowing it lags the server and tends to cause it a crash is a choice that you are allowed to make, and we as other players are allowed to choose to loathe you for it.

So like I said, regardless of intent or where the blame is, I and many others hate EG because when you show up, the game is no longer fun because no one can play due to game breaking lag. Simply put, that is the result and because of that correlation.... you get this result. Wiping zergs is fun, but at some point the lag is so bad I want to throw my fist through a wall and its fun for no one. I honestly don't understand how people in EG actually enjoy playing like that, it boggles my mind, but its their 15 dollars.

100% truth. The day of the reset I logged on to PvP, and they were telling me to head to Chillrend. New home campaign.

Buff servers are bull. Buffs should only apply in the campaign where they are maintained. I believe that's what's causing all of this mess. Haderus, bow of shadows and now chillrend are abominations. Is it really fun to fight 500 to 75 odds?

Also, we noble Pact have taken to instructing our soldiers to NOT take all the home keeps of blue, and are only doing it to yellow because apparently they did that all last campaign and need to be taught a lesson.

The more gates are camped the less people come to play with us. And we don't want to play on an empty or imbalanced server.

almost everyone hates EGL on our own faction due to them lagging everything out as well, so its everyone not just AD and EP that hate them. they make the conscious decision to group up in groups of 100 in order to wipe things
