Curing Vampirism, No Skill-Point Back

Jorvag_Black_Briar
Hi guys,
This night I had a problem with the Arkay Priest (Cure for Vampirism).
I had 34 Skill Point left and the Vampirism Tree completed (level 10) and fully skilled, except Mist Form.
When I cured myself, I did not receive back my Skill Point, because now that I'm again mortal (:P) I have still 34 Skill Point left. (I remember the first time I did the cure, with the same character, that the points returned in my Skill Points left withouth issues)

You don't get them back, because they're still invested, you just can't access the skills anymore. Become a vamp again and you will have all your skills still there

try a skill point reset at the shrine. this should bring back all of your skill points.

When you become a Vampire again, you need to invest Skill Point again. You have the Tree at the Level you had last time, but you need always to put Skill Points back to it.

@Daenerys @seanolan So, we have a problem here! Seems an issue that's need to be investigated?

/bug report it in game....supposed to still be there
  • Jorvag_Black_Briar
Oh yea, I did not remember about that. I'll do that then, hoping for a solution ( @Daenerys I'll tell you if there will be some news in my mail
    about this issue! )

thanks for the tip! unfortunately, I did not know that I had to respec while I was still infected (so to speak /giggle). I did submit a bug report, but never heard anything back.

You need to reset the skill points BEFORE you cure the vampirism. Now, you need to achieve to be again a vamp, then reset skill points and cure the vampirism again. I had to do this approx 1,5 months ago.

The /bug command just puts the issue on some list. If you really want an answer, you have to use the /feedback command.

I cured myself from vampirism, too and was surprised to not get the skillpoints back. On the other hand, I don't need them and I still have the "Feed on ally" counter. So if I get bitten again, I might just bite back right away :D

Yea, but the first time I cure myself I did not need to respec my SP. I just went to the Arkay's Priest and pay for the Cure. After that, the SP I had invested in the Vampirism Tree were back in my pool.
  • Jorvag_Black_Briar
Heya! They were right, I received my answer just minutes ago.
    @Daenerys @Cathrin here we go:

Vampire skills are treated like other skills - when you spend points on them, they are permanent until respec'd. The points are not meant to be given back automatically when you get cured. That is that you can have your skills the way you made them should you decide to be a vampire again.
If you want the skill points you used for vampiric abilities, you will have to go to the appropriate rededication shrine and get a respec. You can find these shrines in the capital city of your faction.
