What next, update 4? and another load of bugs added. This is going to be an endless cycle of -bugs added, attempted fixes fail, investigate bugs
With respect solely to server issues (e.g., those fixed by a restart, or relating to server and/or network infrastructure), I agree - but it is the dev team that would need to address the OP's "maintenance for bugs that have been in the game for months".DieAlteHexe wrote: »I'm pretty confident that the team that is working on content/bugs etc. is not the same team that handles the servers.

In fact, with the growing trend towards mega-server technologies, which really are independent machines anway, it seems downtime for maintenances is more and more becoming a thing of the past.

Again, no maintenance ... what's going on?
We have the update 4 almost, but not quite, finished. All bug fixes go at the moment directly into the 4-patch version, so there are no intermediate patch this week.

Are you complaining about the word or the concept?

Literally, it would translate as "interstitial patch", which doesn't make sense from an IT point of view. I think the word he was looking for was maintenance patch, given a version scheme of major.minor[.maintenance[.build]]. I didn't get it right above as well, because I called it a "minor" patch. ^_^
Even in German IT terminology, in which English language terms are commonly used for the most part, "Zwischenpatch" doesn't exist (or is so uncommon that I haven't encountered it in 24 years of professional work). It's a valid word, because in German, (indefinity) concatenating nouns to form a new noun is a valid, if sometimes clumsy thing to do. But then again, mixing different languages in one word like "zwischen" (Ger, lit. "between") an "patch" (Engl.) is frowned upon. Well, it used to be. Seems like today, everyone can do to language whatever they damn well please... :P
