Who cares about winning, to be honest. It's like everyone here doesn't PvP for fun, they just play to have their faction win at the end of the campaign or they didn't enjoy themselves, and furthermore their lives are ruined; they're unsubbing; and the state of PvP as a whole is garbage; an entire race of people need to barred from playing the game-- All because they play at a different time then you do.

I honestly could care less which faction took the other's keeps during what time of day. The only impact it has on me is a month down the road it determines how much gold I get. If that's the driving factor in why you PvP, I feel bad for you.

Says a person on the winning side o.O isn't that a tad dis-ingenious?

I stopped playing on Thorn for Chillrend, last week.

Then I commend you :) I bow to a noble spirit

My solution is that EP and AD stop PvDooring to win against NPC's and fight each other.

So again, your solution is to make other players play the game the way you think is best, not the way they enjoy, to maximize your fun?

You just keep asking everyone to change and offering nothing other than "This other team should play the way I like".

I dont know how you cant see the arrogance in this logic.

YOU keep bitching about others "PvDooring". They might like this. Who the F are you to suggest they play the game your way?

LOL @ you for even thinking this is a solution and not random bitching.

Maybe you missed the memo but it is a PVP campaign, try it sometime. For those who want to PVE and NOT PVP there are other places for them.

I'm not the one who missed it. I pvp every day on Thornblade and sometimes Chillrend when my PvE guild is.

You want to tell other people how to play the game, that's fine, but expecting them to instantly adhere to your requests is a good way to set unrealistic expectations.

Easy Fix; remove Emporer buff remove rankings turn champion system into Ap system. Make 2 large PVP areas one for non vet one for everyone, remove guesting, remove the PVP specific armor which would be the only other reason
left to farm AP points. And if thats not enough turn the flags into Keep Bosses just to give the PVE crowd something to shoot for as well.

Its really hard to believe that some of the Old Daoc People created this mess of a PVP atmosphere but they did or were told to whatever the case theres too much reward catering to a PVE mindset in a PVP environment.

Copy Paste Old RVR rename it whatever, you got it almost perfect once before so its possible to again.

Personally i dont PVP for rewards I PVP for the excitement of fighting other actual humans in a environment we all enjoy.

Actually, it is an AvAvA campaign with optional participation by any of the three alliances. The objective of playing in Cyrodiil has absolutely nothing to do with PVP and PVP is not required in order to accomplish the ultimate AVA goal - placing someone on the Ruby Throne. PVP is merely a side activity along the way. On some campaigns, that side activity is largely avoidable. On other campaigns, not so much.

This happens EVERY cycle.. The bottom 2 jump ship to a diff camp to get rewards and when it resets they come back. EP only left for Chill cause there was 0 competition and a few DC guilds were rumored to be playing on the non vet camp which explains why its blue now instead of red as well as the Vet only camp. So EP only really has a chance at winning Chill until AD and DC chase them.

I normally don't say anything about this, not even when the AD oceanic guilds were able to steamroll both factions at night (every night) because no one was on, but this has gotten entirely out of hand.

I logged on today and behold what I saw:
    Screenshot_20140825_154658_zps750c4153.png
"Surely, this must be a mistake" says I. "There must be some kind of bug with the scoreboard."

    Screenshot_20140825_160109_zps104c7721.png
    Nope.

I think we have reached the threshold where some balancing is in order.
Some US guilds, which fled from US-Megaserver presumedly because of lack of skill, now 'steamroll' [EU]-Thornblade at night too. Untill they hit our server, EP has been in a small lead of some hundreds to one thousand points and now, well, see for yourself

    ohfmocwo.jpg

The consequence of that is that DF and AD are losing players by the minute. I totally agree with you that this has gotten entirely out of hand and that Zenimax has to implement some restrictions.

    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand

IMO it shouldn't be allowed for US players to play on EU megaserver and vice versa. Or at least when making an game account they have to decided to which megaserver it will be bound, so players can play on the other side of the atlantic, but cannot change this anymore.

Disclaimer - I am AD and these thoughts are intended from a point of view of making the campaign 'healthy' again in terms of leaderbords, scoringthe campaigns are open 24/7, i don't see that changing - ZOS isn't going to deny access to PvP content to those of its subscribers that either cannot, or by choice, play at 'off peak' times

this particular point is a player situation that ZOS can do nothing to address or balance - you guys need to sort that out for yourselves

and trust me, our AD zone chat/lack of cooperation on Thornblade is every bit as bad or worse - so many egos, so many armchair generals who don't have the skills to coordinate forming a 5 man guild, yet feel self-empowered and entitled to tell everybody in zone what to do

DC seem to have the best zone coordination, at least looking from my AD point of view - hitting many objectives at the same time, many of them 'fakes' and then quickly blood porting to the main objective etc

DC Zone chat can be just as bad sometimes.

What I think happens with some of the DC (at least the group I run around with which ranges from 2-8 people) is that we just want to fight people and move to the best objective we see. We don't 'farm' AP. We go after objectives that are going to give us a fun fight

Well Pixysticks...I'm on two sides on this statement.

One I'm glad I won't have to be hit by your crazy damage. I haven't seen any other Sorc hit me as hard as you did and I never could get my damage that high either  . I did once manage to beat you in a 1v1 fight. It was only once though haha.

Which brings me to point two because fighting players like you make me a better player in the end. That or I just keep dying. So maybe I'll still see you around!

But like this? It just feels like the AD are using exploits to win. (Which, admittedly having a higher population at night is not really their fault, but it definitely means there is a balance issue)

How is having a night population exploiting? Did you seriously just say that? What did I just read.....

I play mostly evenings to midnight/1 am est, and it is a constant dc/ep against ad. If two factions can't get their poop in a group against one, then oh well.

Explain the logic in this statement plz.

The logic is that it is wrong that those points earned by pop locked AD versus 1 bar DC and EP while North America is sleeping or at work are worth just as much as the points earned during prime time while all three factions are pop locked. While I do not agree that PVP should be restricted to 12 hours a day, I do think that potential points earned should be scaled directly with how much competition you currently have on the server. Taking over the map versus two pop locked factions should be worth way more than taking over the map versus two one bar factions and I don't know how anyone could disagree with that logic.

Do you mean like last night's AD and DC joint attacks against EP at Ash while a different DC group took three keeps, an outpost and several resources from EP in the north?

Joint attacks as in anytime I went (DC) to Ash we just ended up fighting AD outside instead of even getting a chance at the Keep  As for EP losing several resources...that was explained in a different post about the fact that EP wouldn't defend it and just stayed at Ash.

I think its PvP thats gone off the deep end, not thornblade. Its because there are no reins whatsoever that allows for easy night capping.

Asked for time-zone specific servers, at least in the way of bonuses for prime time play or penalties for extreme off-time play, but they insist on leaving it to the players to properly spread themselves out. Thats just not going to happen. Each and every server is currently weighed heavily in favor of one alliance. Its probably only the Non-vet only server thats not the same way, but I don't have any non-vet characters so idk.

The state of each PvP server on NA is probably an indication that this PvP system is failing... maybe.

it's funny how some say AD steamroll during the night, we usually have to give up arond 2 or 3 am cause we're getting our asses handed to us.. we give it up for the night shift whomever it may be and our population drops dramatically.

What i'm stressed about lately is the freakin EP zergs or trains or whatchamacallem.. talk about steamrolling, that really takes the fun out of it. no strategy, no skills, just mowing the lawn with a helicopter.. overkill

talkin bout thornblade.. left chillrend cause it was so boring
