I wouldn't mind seeing ZOS bring back levitation to Tamriel.

Heh, a few generic citizen quotes in Mournhold explain that as well.

So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I'm fine with levitation, but that would make the game more empty IMO... At least with mounts you're visible.

The game and environments are designed to be explored on foot or horseback. Flying mounts would not work and to be honest, if you are a crafter you miss so many spawns when on a horsie a flying mount would be completely pointless.

This is why we have the wayshrine system.

So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Not a single flying mount exists in lore, as far as I'm aware. Dragons aren't happening.

Actually your incorrect, The Dunmer have used Silt Striders for Riding and transport for centuries/milinia. And the Bosmer in Lore use a giant Bird for transport.

Pretty sure there are a few others.

Mainly though mages use portals. to go from place to place, which players... can not use or make.

So one or the other needs to be added, (regardless of lore) in order to facilitate this function of personalized travel. Which the NPC's seem to have, but players do not.

No please, it doesn't fit with TES at all (Dragons don't count seeing that TES:V is in the distant future and even so...it's not like anyone but the Dragonborn could pull it off...).

Edit: I'm also happy with Flying Pigs, big birds, Flying Argonians (NPCs we can mount ofc), Magic Carpets....

Off topic slightly but I just purchased an argonian family, I don't need all of them. Interested?

They didn't have flying mounts in Skyrim because traveling that fast over the games detailed terrain would've causes loading issues. So, you can imagine it would be even more unpractical on an mmo.

As much as I would love a Dragon, please no! The hold TES has always had on me is the look, some of these dyes are bad enough LOL. There are other games for people who want to play a literal cartoon.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Dragons won't be appearing, they are close to extiction, and only controllable by a strong Dragonborn(seriously, they won't even talk to most mortals let alone obey them), they will not obey us even if hatched from an egg.

Dragonknight has no actual connection to Dragons, possibly if the ancient past early Dragonknights fought them or learned from them, but that's tens of thousands of years ago.

Dragon eggs and dragonlings do not exist in ES lore.

hope you enjoy, its a decent read and very informative

That lore just says there are no known examples of dragon eggs or dragonlings, not that they don't exist.

In Skyrim several dragons are known to be younger than others, this suggests they did once reproduce, even if that was millenia ago.

It only implies that some were created later than others. Created how, it doesn't say.

Dragonlings and their eggs exist, actually. They were in Daggerfall. The problem? They're just overgrown lizards, not real Dov.

None of it matters though. It's mid-Second Era, most of the dragons are dead, seeing one is a very rare occurence and there's absolutely no way they could be used as mounts. Could we get other flying mounts? Possibly, in far future. I don't think they are needed and I'd rather see more land mount options first.

As long as anything they implement remains ``elder scrolls lore friendly`` , then i`m ok with it .

But if this games turns into a joke like WoW did or other MMO`s simply because the majority of the players are begging for non lore friendly stuff i`m gonna be really pissed .

Now i`m not aware of any kind of flying mounts in Elder Scrolls lore other than dragons and there doesn`t seem to be any dragons during the time period that we`re in , in ESO.

Might be difficult to get flying mounts . You need to accept that this is an Elder Scrolls game first and an MMO second .

I also wanna add , in Skyrim , the only reason why some of the dragons are accepting to even talk with you is because you`re Dragonborn . Since you share the same blood as they do, some dragons accept to see you as an equal but that is definatly not the majority of them. And Dragons are usually not friendly to humanoids.

Parthunaax was friendly but he was 1000 years old and he admited himself that he wasn`t always that way.

In other words, Dragons are supperior beings that would probably never accept to be treated as a simple mount that you can call with a whistle whenever you wish.

I don't think slit striders can survive outside of Morrowind, since they've developed to thrive in the ash and nowhere else. Can't comment on the birds.

As for the portals, that's a good point. Honestly though, what's with the demand for flying mounts? Wayshrines are all over every zone, and you can travel to keeps your faction owns in Cyrodiil instantly. There's no need to speed up travel more.

I personnaly agree with that statement 100% but i think the desire for flying mounts is probably for the simple thrill of flying rather than travel. I personnaly don`t care for flying mounts , i`m simply assuming that this is the real reason because as you said, travel has already been covered .

Oh and btw Mirmulnir and Nafaalilargus were alive and active during the early Second Era centuries. Ahbiilok might have been active around this time as well. So it's not impossible with the Lore to actually have dragons :).

Yes, they were. And their locations were known and remembered. There aren't dozens of dragons running around for random players to ride.

There was at least one other poster when the forums were on Bethesda's site who wanted hordes of dragons for mounts, fighting and anything else just because "dragons are cool". If they break the lore that badly to have everyone riding dragons, I'm gone. Besides the problems it would cause with lag and the rest of it when dozens of people are flying around, the world is set up for the ground bound travel systems they created. It would ruin the game one way or another; bad enough to run into boundaries/unclimbable walls on the ground, how jarring would it be to run into an invisible barrier in the air? Using Coldharbour as an example, how messed up would the quests and story be if you could fly from one floating rock to another, instead of following the paths?
