[BUG] Dyes being granted by error

The Grand Overlord was one that I had noticed being granted but not earned. In addition, a guildmate claimed the Emperor dye but has never been crowned.

edit: Hey @Lionxoft, just to make sure we're on the same page, if you've completed the achievement on any character, then you'll have the associated dye on all characters (dyes are account wide). Could this be what's happening?Edited by ZOS_GinaBruno on August 4, 2014 5:45PMGina Bruno

✭✭✭✭I have the dye for having a level 50 character unlocked on the US server - my highest level character on that server is level 24.
Also on the same server, I have one called something like Master Adventurer unlocked (it's a purple dye, something to do with dungeon achievements), I certainly haven't done that. And Spriggan Green which is for getting the achievement for killing nature creatures. Nope, I'm miles away from getting that.

Korozenn✭✭✭✭I have about five dyes unlocked that I didn't even remotely get close to unlocking. Even a PvP one, and I haven't even gone into PvP yet.
I'm going to make the stretch and say that most players have these bugged achievements and dyes unlocked for them that they haven't earned as a result of that. ZeniMax should look into fixing this for everyone at this point, and I'm hoping these issues get fixed soon.

✭✭✭✭Right I have now checked the EU server and I have the following dyes that I should not have access to (no character has got the achievements):
Spriggan Green - Nature Collector Achievement
Captain's Violet - Alliance War Captain Achievement
Tombstone Gray - Dungeon Damage Dispenser Achievement
I should have access to all the dyes in the Recipe Card line of achievements, but like other people, the achievement is only registering 6 recipes learned even though I have learned over 160 on my provisioner. This cannot be repeated, so the achievement needs to be fixed and the dyes unlocked for those who already learned the appropriate numbers of recipes.

In order for characters to access dyes earned by a another character, you must log in that other character to activate the dyes it's earned first.Dyes are account bound? I have one master crafter on the same account as another toon who doesn't have the dye's available.
This is a good feature to have. Otherwise characters would just transfer their gear to the ones who have the achievements in order to dye it, then transfer it back. (Since gear is account bound, not character bound.) This saves us the headaches of doing those extra steps.0 -

Alliance War General = Centurion Metal
Dungeon Lord = Boss Butcher Brown
Vampirism = Noxophilic Black
Also, not certain which achievement Explorer Green is linked to since "view achievement" just opens whichever achievement screen you had open last.

I had initially assumed this was intentional on the dev's part - giving a few random colors to every account so they'd have some stuff to start out with. But by the sound of this thread, maybe it wasn't intentional at all.

I did notice there are several dyes supposed to be unlocked by crafting (decon, rune translation, refining) that I should have but don't.0 -

HeroOfEvbof✭✭✭I guarantee that we will have to re-earn the decon and refining acheivements. Those actions have never been tracked before. The acheivements did not exist and I have never ever seen anything to indicate that the actions were being tracked.
I dont know if the named dungeon bosses are bugged, but I do know that three dungeon acheivements did not exist before 1.2.3. If you havent gone into Bad Man's, Obsidian or Bonesnap this month, then you will not have those acheivements. Other dungeon boss acheivements were broken prior to 1.2.3 so those too would have had to be done during July otherwise we wouldnt have them.
