I myself just want lvl 50 to be max lvl. idc for vet lvls at all:/. "vet zones" should just be something for PvE focused players to do if they want, not something to do to be top dog in PvP and 3 shot almost everyone you face:/

Cadwell's quests are simply here as a way to allow questers like me to see all of the quests. Nothing more. The reward is the quests.

I appreciate your opinion however wouldn't the option to either "defect" to another faction at Veteran Rank(lose the freakin levels already!!)or an option to role an alt at Veteran Rank be a better way to experience the quests? I say this because the questing, in my opinion, is the strongest part of the game. But I and probably alot of other players, burned through and wasted a lot of these quests just so I/we could get to max level so I/we could do all those end game things(err turns out theres not much here).

I don't really get your point. Granted there's no way to change your character's faction at the moment, but you can already roll an alt on another faction.

Unless you're saying you want to do other faction's quests on your main with "normal difficulty" and not "VR difficulty"?

(If so...wouldn't it be kind of silly for a VR1+ character to do quests tuned for level 1?)

You guys know you're supposed to take that to a NPC in your faction's starter island right? For AD it would be khenarthi's roost. Forgot the name of the NPC but you're supposed to talk to her and an option to show her the necklace will be available, she then tells you about how she knows cadwell and gives you a story about who he was before becoming soul shriven. After that you get a skill point, some gold and a trophy, geez hope you guys didn't sell that thing already

do you recall which part of Khenarthi? How did you come to know of this? I suffer from ADD, so unless it's big flashing letter like something from Vegas, or an NPC tells me to go there, I miss small directions and details.

I would love to track this NPC down...

What is the point about it... what you get when you finished it all (vr1 to 10+)... a puny necklace...

Think an appropiate reward for going through it all would be like let us say 1 attribute point per VR or something... and maybe +2-300 to all stats or something... to make it more worthwhile... likewise hammering all the freebies to vr12, it is not to much to ask to just go through the story part each area either.

Even a free respec would be nice

Yes I posted about this end reward some time ago in another thread as it has been talked about at length but it is good to see it continued as maybe the devs will get the hint. This end reward is an INSULT and heck I was not even aware it was once only lvl50. Whether it is optional or not the players should be rewarded for completing this with an equitable reward for the time spent. Yes I enjoyed ALL the maps and the quests and I will run yet another alt through it all but the end reward was one big fat disappointment . I don't even think we get a title for completing all these quests, short of the ones we earn for running the quests in each alliance. There is so many ways they could have done this better but I doubt it will ever happen.

Maybe put a unique and cool "clicky" on this otherwise worthless necklace you can hotbar that would actually be of some use in end game content. How about a costume unique to only those who completed the Caldwell quest lines. Maybe a racial motif that is bound to character that can only be acquired from Caldwell upon completion. A gold weapon of your choice, similar to the purple one we received from the Fighter's Guild with a unique enchantment / affect on it. A unique horse and perhaps one that you can then level up beyond 50. Some attribute points would be great but I understand this is already in the early stages of development (attribute points per VR level or something). So many good ideas have already been added to this thread so I won't go on but something needs to change with this and here is hoping it gets addressed. Sure it isn't game breaking but it is certainly morale breaking in it's current state.

What a cast of voice actors they assembled: Malcolm McDowell as Molag Bal, Lynda Carter reprising her role as Azura, Bill Nighy as King Emeric, Alfred Molina as Abnur Tharn...

...And Kate Beckinsale as Queen Aryenn. Holy crap that woman's voice is even sexy. Yowza.

Same for me. I should know that voice I totally missed it. :s

yea how could you not notice that? That's part of Cadwell's awesomeness. Only voice actor they used that I really cared that he was in there.

I don't think a skillpoint or two would be too much to ask for gold and silver really.

Yeah, I had replied to that guy's post as well, and doesn't seem that he has returned. I do, at this point, suspect he was trolling. Having more time to play this game than some divine consciousness at the moment, I have been all over Khenarthi and I can't find anyone who wants to talk to me about that neck piece. And no one in any of the guilds I have been through knows what I am talking about when I mention this. And these have been some pretty knowledgeable people to. Though he seems to be a little too detailed about it to be trolling, so I don't know.

I have finished Cadwells Gold on my Templar now, and I will not turn it in yet. In the Quakecon panel they stated they will be improving rewards, as they have listened to people's disappointment. I don't know if that means Cadwell's will get a better reward eventually, or what. When other games have done that kind of thing in the past, it's usually retroactive for characters that had already completed the quests. Still, it won't kill me to carry that quest around for a while just in case.

Y'know, I see things like this in game development-- y'know, legitimately offensive things like this-- and I'm just amazed whoever thought something like this was a good idea isn't either on a respirator or at least reminded constantly to exhale after inhaling. This is just tremendously stupid design. I could imagine if it were a pre-release placeholder, but those aren't supposed to remain in place months after launch; that, unfortunately, leads us to conclude that it was a deliberate reward. Somebody said, "Yeah... this is an excellent idea" and is just ignoring that people are actually going to stop playing just to recuperate from the sheer absurdity of rewarding players with the equivalent of a cheaply manufactured, dollar store consolation prize for completing what is unquestionably the most daunting quest one can undertake in-game. I needed to log off for a week after beating Molag Bal just to reconcile how cheap the game felt after realizing it's less a full-scale MMO and more a glorified, multiplayer RPG with tremendously buggy PvP, poor single-player content, and watered-down ES elements and aesthetic tacked on. I should be visiting these zones furthering my faction's interests, not embarking on a poorly written and ill-conceived, conciliatory sojourn into the single-player experiences I carefully chose not to play to begin with because I wanted to fight for Ebonheart Pact. Faction fidelity is an element about MMOs that fans obsess over, it can contribute enormously to an MMO's success and marketability-- why would they fail to exploit that, let alone implement, instead, a system that just makes the thing feel a lot cheaper than its budget and retail value after buying the game and subscribing?

    Unbelievable. Just... wow.

i could be wrong about this but i think that players mistake a veteran rank for a lvl.

You are still lvl 50 as a veteran, only you are a bit more powerful. I think Zenimax made it this way so that players who hit lvl cap can still experience the feeling of being able to progress but without giving them too much more power in the process.

I think it might have something to do with them wanting to allow players to do both PvE and PvP with the same gear . Plus the fact that players can join PvP at lvl 10 and fight along side Veteran players, if Veteran rank 12 was equal to lvl 62 , the difference between lvl 10 and lvl cap would be too much. It actually currently is ,even though the stats of each characters are being adjusted as you enter Cyrodiil.

Now it is fair to think that a person who spent the time to lvl up to 50 before entering Cyrodiil will have a certain advantage over a person who entered Cyrodiil as soon as he hits lvl 10. Same can be said for a player who put in the hours to become Vr12 over a player who stopped lvling at 50 or Vr 1.

I really believe that they made it this way so that Vr 12 gives you a bit of an advantage over lvl50 players but not too much to turn you into a god .

Personnaly i like it that way. Outside Cyrodiil, Vr players are gods next to lower lvls but inside Cyrodiil no one gets to be a god . I think it`s fair and it should remain this way.

So yeah back to veteran ranks, you still get to craft better gear , better foods and drinks and better enchantments as you progress through veteran ranks and you still get to find more and more skyshards resulting in more skill points , plus they give rewards such as costumes , plus some quests still reward skill points as well.

So yeah, maybe you no longer gain in the HP/Stam/magicka departement but you still gain in certain areas and considering that you are lvl cap from the time that you hit 50 i think that is good enough. If you actually want more than maybe you`re just a greedy person and if they give you more than they simply enourage people to be greedy and if they start doing that there will be no end to it .

Which brings me back to what i said in the first place. A veteran rank is not to be mistaken for a level up.
