Honestly I'm indifferent, there's no point making a lowbie quest insanely difficult but she was watered down a bit too much.
Give a person a reason to complain, or not and they will, apparently.

That said, not sure if a nerf was necessary, I think a lot of frustration could have been avoided by not having to fight her in such a small area and maybe having the orbs spawn a bit further out.
That way, the player would have needed to figure out the mechanics of the fight but be in a better position to counter them regardless of whether they were melee or ranged.
Did you fight her during the beta? Originally the orbs were also smaller and harder to both see and hit. That change was certainly a welcome one.
I fought her during beta, and I never had a problem seeing or attacking the orbs. That's why I never understood those threads about that problem. obviously some people did just don't know why.

You didn't need up to date gear, you didn't need to out level the encounter, you didn't need some special strat or specific skills or weapons. The only thing you needed was the ability to focus for an entire 30 seconds.
But bads are bad, and bads cry the loudest. Can't afk your way through a fight while getting hit by every move the boss uses? Too hard, nerf pls.
Just as a reminder - 2 of the 3 versions of Doisha are very hard because just can't kite her out of littler area - therefore its very hard to get the spheres if you do not have an AOE.of course I take pleasure in watching people fail over things that just take a bit of thinking to get through.
When I first fought her it was in the early days of full release (not beta), so I gather that the orbs had already been increased in size, and she had possibly already had her difficulty adjusted. ESO is my first MMO, and frankly I don't play a ton of games, so I'd never encountered any mechanic like this before.Depends on when. I'm talking last July here. The orb size and the overall difficulty of the character was changed sometime in November-January. Frankly, on my first go-around with her, I wasn't aware that the orbs were even there, and it was the first time in the game when I found myself wiping over and over again. That was pretty upsetting, actually. I found out about the orbs, and first heard about a good strategy for dealing with them, by coming to this forum. I may have actually seen the orbs, but had no idea what they were or even whether I needed to do anything about them. If you've never encountered a boss mechanic like that before, how are you supposed to know? It's not obvious at all what to do, unless of course you have the advantage of similar experience in other games, which I obviously lacked.
I'd have to say that my game play was pretty naive in those very early days. I didn't know yet about how to use food and potions to build sustain, nor even much about blocking/interrupting. 2 days of gameplay just wasn't enough for me to get over the learning curve.
And here's why I totally disagree with the above. If you don't start introducing difficult fights and quests early, players will be totally unprepared for them later. If someone has facerolled the whole game, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere he starts running into epic battles, what's going to happen? He's going to quit. Doshia was probably too hard before, but now she's way too easy. Now you can stomp her without thinking about it and without using any tactics. She's not even a boss anymore.I think it was a good call to nerf her to Oblivion. This is just a stupid little side quest that is part of the Fighters Guild story line. It shouldn't have ever been an epic battle. Those are for later!
I've since taken three Alts through post nerf. It's stupid easy now--like it should be.

The first few times I fought her I got slaughtered. I came back a couple of levels later, and that's when, rather than just being frustrated with the fight, I took the time to actually pay attention to what was happening. That's when I noticed the orbs, and that they were healing her, so I stopped to think about how to prevent that. My first thought was to try to kite her in the hopes that she would come after me faster than the orbs would follow. It didn't work. My next thought was to try to attack the orbs. That worked.
I got a real sense of accomplishment out of beating her that time around (especially since I figured it out on my own), and that experience, more than any other, taught me to pay attention to what was going on and adjust what I'm doing to the situation instead of just spamming skills. Much like you, I wasn't over the learning curve yet, but I found that Doshia made me accelerate my learning. And here's why I totally disagree with the above.
