Make Imperial city need Tyro rank to enter

zdkazz

I think the Imperial city should require at least tyro rank to enter, this is due to the fact that it is a pve zone(with some pvp in it) that is earned through the capture and owning of keeps by your alliance. No one should be able to ride on others coat tails into this zone, If you wish to enter it you should have to earn it.

There-fore the tyro rank should be required to enter the city, this discourages those that would just hop into cyrodill to participate for the imperial city and have never actually fought to get it, tyro is the third rank in the pvp acheivements and is not to far up in the list of ranks, but you still have to do a good ammount of pvp to get it.

If you want this content you should have to earn it like in craglorn where to get there you had to be atleast vet 1. Pls Zos dont spoon feed this or just hand it out make us earn it .

the imperial city is the crowning jewl of cyrodill no one should be able to piggy back or ride coat tails of those thet earned it to enter.

Yeah because having less Cannon Fodder is a good thing for your Alliance.
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

no, because it needs to be earned, the people who just show up for the imperial city and leave when it is lost or we need to fight to hold it should not be rewarded with this, would you like to open up craglorn to all non vr players? this is end game pvp, and just like end game pve you need to get to a certain lvl or status to access it.

I actually like this idea, tbh. Make it a reward for those that regularly pvp. Tyro is not particularly hard to get either.

I picked one of the lower ranks so it would be accesable to all, a little effort needs to be made but then again a little effort needed to be made to get to the endgame pve area aswell right?

so everything should just be handed over then? why not just hand out purple equipment or rare motifs to everyone who starts the game then? after all there is arbitrary gates to get into craglorn(you have to earn vr1)

Yea and "arbitrary" gates to get into the second and third faction, as well.

It's not like there's no precedence for it.

how is this any different than accesing craglorn, vr1 is needed to enter, tyro should be needed to enter the imperial city

look this is the pvp ranks
    1. Volunteer
    2. Recruit
    3. Tyro
    4. Legionary
    5. Veteran
    6. Corporal
    7. Sergeant
    8. First Sergeant
    9. General
that is not very far up on the list and can be earned in a day or 2 of pvp

Disagree. Let everyone enter and start to do content. Then, when it gets taken away from them, *maybe* some will be encouraged to partake in PvP to get it back.

Plus, I do think there is some PvP in the sewers getting to the zones, and in the zones themselves. At least that's what I gathered from the event and transcripts.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

you and I both know those that dont want to pvp will just sit and wait for others to earn it for them and then they will hop in and will never help with the keeping or retaking of the city, thus making the fight to earn it lessend, why do people feel like they should just have everything handed to them, with that mentality Zos should just hand people vr12 right out of the gate.
some things need to be earned

It's not pve content. It's pvp content that has pve in it. It has to be earned, why should people that refuse to help earn it have access to it?

Nope , i do PvP , im just not a PvPer.

I will be one of the PvE players more than happy to join the zerg , like i for the most part do now.

PS: While now that i stop to think about it , i dont remember my rank , but i do think i already got past the 3 for sure.

Well the idea behind this PVE / PVP dungeon is to attract PVE players aswell. You want them helping you to get it. Once you do gain control, you get to clear the enemy players out, then the PVP is pretty much over, you will then leave unless you want to stay and PVE, there will probably be some good reason like unque gear and sets and such to farm for.

You want enemy 'PVE" players in there for you to kill when you gain access because enemy PVP players arent gunna be a big population inside doing PVE they will already came back out to Cyrodiil.

So in short you dont want to bar the PVE players as they are like the targets for the PVP players. gaining control of the Imperial City is mostly a PVE reward. With no PVErs inside there wont be much to do and kill when you take control

we don't really need their help. PVE'ing isn't exactly challenging. I'm sure the pvp'rs of the game can handle it. thanks though.

I assure you, pvp'rs will hang around for the pve, the rewards will be worth it. I know I will personally use the crafting stations as soon as possible, and will happily do the dungeons.

if you unlock the imperial city to everyone even people who have never set foot on imperial soil, then you need to unlock craglorn to all non vet chars, its exactly the same thing, some requirements need to be meet to enter the area(and craglorns are actually harder to get)

First of all, nice bump on your own thread.... second of all just because you PVP more doesn't mean you "earned" it. Maybe you weren't even the one that helped captures the surrounding keeps to gain access. Lets everyone go into it. Seems like a bad idea to alienate people from it.

That would make sense if he was saying only legates and above could enter, but really if you pvp at all you are going to be a tyro. It's extremely easy to obtain.

Just curious if you played Darkage of Camelot? they added a dungeon named Darkness Falls which is almost idenicle to this Imperial City system. when ever another alliance took control they went into to clear out the enemy then 90% left back to the frontiers (Cyrodiil). The dungeon was still fun and worth the clearing out rush but only people leveling up, farming for gear, or PVE style raid people really used it for PVE, the majority of PVPers went back to the main war outside.

Sure there is stuff to do, but trust me, you want the PVErs in there because they are most of the kills when you get to clear it out.
After a while when most of the PVPers obtain what they need from inside there wont be reason for them to hang around and miss the PVP goin on outside so you need a PVE population in as targets or there will start to be no excite ment to take control of it because noone is inside.

I watched this system for 10 years on DAOC

Yeah I played DAOC and it felt wrong when someone who had never touched pvp got to experience something that I fought for for days, its like someone hitting a boss once that you had been wacking on for hours and they also get an achievement and loot for killing the boss even though they only hit it once.
