Status Update on Eidetic Memory?

I'm not seeing it in the known issues section, but I'm still not gaining eidetic memory numbers and many of my books still say 0/X. Is this still recognized as an issue for everyone or do I have a problem I'll need support to handle individually?

✭✭I noticed this the other day when I was looking at my book achievements and found that many of them that I know I've read were not counted. Not a game breaker to be sure, but hopefully it's on the list to be fixed at some point.0 -
Saerydoth✭✭✭✭There is an addon that displays which books you've read and which you haven't, and the fact that that works properly indicates that the ability is working properly and what you're seeing is a display issue. So I wouldn't really worry about it - they will fix it evenutally, and in the meantime you can use the addon to see if you are missing anything (I think it's called Librarian or something similar).Edited by Saerydoth on July 22, 2014 5:26PM1 -
FlamageSoul ShrivenI'm the author of Librarian, and it works a little differently to the way you describe. As you discover books, it records them in its own database, so it has a copy independently of Eidetic Memory. It also has the ability to import from Eidetic Memory. I can confirm that Eidetic Memory is in fact still broken, as my addon says I have seen 784 books, but Eidetic Memory only shows 367.0 -

✭It is quite obvious that a fix for this is low on their priority list. A shame, because I was hoping that Eidetic Memory would finally make it possible for me to read all in-game books later, instead of delaying my group in dungeons (which would annoy other group members to no end) and risking death from nearby respawning mobs when I run solo (which is an annoying and not very well designed aspect of the game).

Can I suggest my addon, Librarian, then? It was made for exactly this purpose. Notwithstanding the issues it currently has with saved variables of course.

✭Your add-on seems like a very nice fix, if I had only installed it before I found all those books that I thought Eidetic Memory would be saving for later.
Now, after a thousand clicks on bookshelves with two characters, all the time thinking that EM would probably be fixed soon, I just feel very late to the Librarian's party...
