1.2.6 Volatile familiar dmg nerfed to 12% max magicka

    The only childish whine I see is your quoted post above this. You should be sick to your stomach that they bandaid fixed something for PVP that completely neutered a spell. Imagine if some small subset of the PVP population found a way to make Dragon Blood heal more than was intended and instead of fixing the bug they just changed it to heal only 15% of missing health? If you aren't a DK then please consider if something similar happened to whatever class you play.

    If you could indeed breeze through that type of content using Volatile Familiar, then you were indeed getting much more from it than you should (double explosions).

    It never double exploded in PVE. I can see enemy HP and I can see what 20% of my magicka is.

    Proof? In PVE I know it never hit twice. I can see mob HP and I can see what dmg I'm hitting for. In PVP, I stood next to someone and detonated Vol Fam about 40 times the other night and he only saw one instance of dmg every single time. Oooohh how those 400 dmg non crits that take twice as long as an instant cast spell to detonate with a miniscule radius hurt.

    Im sure something else will become broken in the near future, theres a big patch coming. You can take advantage of something new then. Try to hang tight until then and use the pet that is still doing more damage than is intended.

    dk, sorc, nb. doesn't matter what class but so long you have people exploiting the *** out of something they have to do something. it seems they want to avoid the mistake they did with the bat swarm exploit, so yes, i rather have them place a temporary fix rather than letting people abuse said mechanic.

    if fact, i encourage them to take stronger stances against people who abuse the f* out of bugged abilities. currently, there is an exploit in eve with drones and anyone who get's caught exploiting said bug will get banned. i hope zos will do the same with their exploiters to repel such activities.

    I've used the Volatile Familiar since I started my character. I don't remember ever seeing the explosion twice, and I really don't appreciate having him nerfed. That being said, I usually don't explode him anyways. He's better as a distraction.

    12% from 20% with 2 explosions is still stronger than the 1 explosion @ 20% that it is supposed to be. Why didn't they go to 10% instead temporarily.
    Because it was not double exploding every time. For some, the double proc was quite rare. It's a nerf on the class because they were too lazy to fix the problem.

    I've said it many times and I can repeat again - devs don't like Sorcs. I mean game devs, not coders or programmers. Just remember with what zeal and love were classes made on start, and what we have now.
    No BE, useless CC (anyone really using Encase or Rune Prison?), after 1.3. patch there would be useless all Daedric tree with ult, exсept some passives.
    Yeah, as it said before - it's a "temporary fix", but you know - "There is nothing more permanent than temporary". :|

    If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.

    Write this on the back of your box and see how many sales you get!

    You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
    I for one won't resub until:
    1.) You fix lag.
    2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
    3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

    But that is using it in a way that at least in my opinion is unintended.
    700 AOE damage only when you turn it on and off, and it won't do 700 damage unless the person using it has a magicka pool of 3500 which isn't possible.
    I stand by my original statement and say that it shouldn't explode on unsummoning.
    The damage is only going to increase when the magicka softcap is increased in Update 3 next month.

    I haven't timed it myself, but if I had to guess I'd say using Elemental ring or whatever morph you choose is about twice or 1.5 times as fast as summoning and blowing up vol familiar. Add the fact that vol familiar radius is pitifully small AND we have to remember this radius is centered on a slow moving and unpredictable AI controlled pet AND that even with 15% max magicka rebate on detonation, it is still significantly more magicka than Elemental Ring and we have a far from overpowered skill as long as it isnt blowing up twice.

    Also as someone else pointed out, with 2000 max magicka your vol familiar is blowing up for 400dmg and that is without considering spell resist. Hilarious that people complain about this skill (that was only bugging out and blowing up twice for certain people) when it takes longer than elemental ring to cast, has a smaller radius, is more difficult to use (centered on pet instead of yourself), and cost more magicka.

    If this is the case maybe they should increase the difficulty of group content or have better rewards for people in a group.

    I'm VR12 I didn't really try soloing group content, except for a few times which didn't go so well. Maybe its just me but I enjoy playing with other people more then just doing everything by myself.

    I'm not being hostile, just sounds to me like you are trying to point the finger at something else cause you cant accept a little nerf to an ability.
