Again, I don't care, so I have never asked for it. But I have personally seen it mentioned from time to time. What's ruined? How does people talking about an issue that you don't care about ruin anything for you? How does a compromise to make loyal customers happy ruin anything for you? The only ruining I see is coming from people who can't miss an opportunity to look down their nose at someone.
If someone wants to get information about the game and all he or she sees are complaints, don't you think that this might have some type of impact on this person? We lose a lot of people due this and sooner or later the ES forum might become like the LOL forum and this cant be what anyone wants.
Its also not the point of a forum that the whole first page is full with complaints, threads and insults. It makes our community look like a hostile group of people - this is just sad for an ES community.
And its not only the dog, its like this every time. If people would at least post in one thread, but no they make 10, 20 of those. This is just a real pain to deal with.1 -

Another user already said that the forum influenced him due all the negativity - it just needs to stop.

People are not asking to be catered, but if you'd actually taken the time to read the posts before making this thread, you would know this. Fact of the matter is, you're just seeking your share of the attention by starting this thread without making any attempt to understand why people are outraged by this. If by chance you do decide to take the time to understand, go read some of those threads you're complaining about.

You don't deserve to get everything you want, just like I don't deserve to get everything I want. The difference between you and me is that I understand that.

What you're seeing here is an entreaty to dis-involve yourself in attacking people for caring about a thing you do not personally care about. Says you. A lot of people have been busy, not just WANTing, but making a case for why it'd be a reasonable thing for them to have access to the same thing other people have access to. Personally I find that a lot more compelling than the case against, which is busy murdering words like "entitlement" into complete unintelligibility.
So what's your modus operandi here, besides just yelling at people for wanting things and striving to attain them?
To prevent the game from being ruined by people that think they know what is best i.e. starter island fiasco.
So you're being a jerk to people to prevent the game from being ruined for you. And people complaining about a dog is ruining the game for you. If Zenimax gives other players the opportunity to attain the same dog they're giving away to new purchasers of their game, the game is ruined.
Uh, okay. I'm not going to pretend that makes sense, but it...sure is...the way you feel.

It's time we nip this in the bud.
There is no conceivable situation in which a person who is not already actively invested in this game will stumble across the forum, see a bunch of threads talking about an imaginary dog, and this will cause them to not buy the game.
What they might do, this being an MMO, is come across the forum, and see you, Audigy, and some of the other forum lowlights, like SFBryan, and nereveraneseriesofnumbers, consistently attacking people, belittling their concerns, and say "gee, the community for this game is pretty not good."
So if this kind of thing--the talking of other people--is "just a real pain to deal with," then here's a novel idea:
STOP DEALING WITH IT.
You are not the sheriff of Paddy's Pub here. Nobody's paying you to do this. You, and the other dudes mentioned, have no incentive to attack people except that you want to attack people. So. Just. STOP.
