Here's a chart of similar MMOs sub numbers.
Wikipedia for information.....lol
Lol, you can all word it how you want. For a brand new AAA MMO only 3 months old....it's bad.

Don't be so naive, mmo's grow, what were the figures for wow in month three? Swtor? Linage?
If these figures are correct you can bet that ZOS are delighted with the progress and will no doubt double their effort to get even more.
With the console launch around the corner, steam just out, things look good.
This comment belief that mmo's just pop out and draw millions of players instantly is ridiculous.

The real issue with this post is not even that , the numbers are good.
But they are as real as santa to me.
I wil believe it when zen says it.

Where does ESO stand? I have no idea as I haven't seen a reliable source with numbers. But considering the level of players I see in game at any given time I would be surprised if it is anywhere near 1 million. If I had to wager a guess I would say it is between 500k and 750k subs.

uhhhhhh , that santa , only appears during a certain time of the year , but this game is around all year around , we need number that show many months in a row not including only the one day of one month...
Yeah that is it

If it's true, then that's actually quite a fantastic number. Especially considering how much ESO has gotten drenched in bad publicity.

Edited to add - my maths looks totally screwy here. looks more like $135m which would be great.

I agree, if these figures are accurate than the game is doing well enough that there shouldn't be cause for concern about the game going far into the red financially that it would impact the players that are heavily invested into the game.
However, I would be curious to see how these number compare to the number of subs at launch and then again with numbers in 3 months and 6 months out from now.
I don't think the game has been bleeding subs, but I wouldn't be surprised if 20% of the subs have been lost since launch, and I wouldn't be surprised if 20% of what the game has right now is gone 3 months from now.
And didn't TOR have somewhere in the ballpark of 1.2 million subs during the 3-6 months post launch period?

Notice that it doesn't say "current subscribers". Just "subscribers", which could include canceled subs.
