Yes. Dogs are way better than crabs or monkeys.

If Steam users got a new skill line that I don't get, then yeh I'd be upset. Really, are you people going insane over a cosmetic pet?

Because the vanity pets currently in-game are crap XD

I can almost guarantee that if a dog or cat was introduced on a wider scale, you'd see plenty.

Actually I never go anywhere with out my little buddy Hermit the Crab. Hermi I coo, and there he is, waddling along. I take him to the beach everyday for a little paddle with his friends. It's nice, you can talk to other crab owners and like hang out.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't get all the rage. It isn't a mount or a pet dragon. It's just a dog. Next you will see new players raging because they don't have a monkey.

Had two pets (beta thing and something else), deleted them both as two bank slots were more useful. That pretty much sums up what I think about in-game vanity pets.

I never made a game but i can honestly say I could promote one 100000x better just by NOT doing everything Zenimax has done.

its the point behind the slap.....you dont spit on the people that paid your check all this time...and provide arguably the coolest perk in the game at 1/2 price and then offer that to the "NEW" people.
So much hypebole in one small post.

Although the dog bothers me a lot less than the other pets.

At least it's vaguely realistic, unlike having each town having a higher daedra population than Oblivion itself. Why did 'Little Mo' have to bother with anchors at all ...

This. As long as it's just cosmetics, I don't care. If it's things that would affect gameplay, then it might be a different story.

    This.

Have those who are complaining never bought anything else in your lives? It is common practice for companies to release future versions of their products with added bonuses; that does not entitle you to those bonuses if you've already purchased the product. I suppose you are either a child with no life experience who does not know any better or an extremely sheltered adult.

I think that the majority of people upset by this pet thing are really upset about the perception that paying customers have been snubbed. It really is not about the dog.

The reason behind this is We feel betrayed for having faith and spending a *** load of money for them just to skip us for the new players it is just morally wrong on top of the fact many have asked for a dog.It is like the older brother always wanting a puppy but the parents say no but when he has a younger sibling and he gets one without even asking for one.

I am assuming everyone who purchased ESO was fully aware of what they were getting. Unless you purchased a version of ESO that granted you the bonuses to future ESO releases, you've no grounds for complaint.

I understand that some people might feel ripped off or have angry feelings towards ZOS about this. Whether you like the vanity pet or not, I simply boils down to the fact that this move of ZOS might not have the smartest thing to do at this moment. It's giving the wrong signal to dedicated players who have been working hard to give feedback, try beta's and have been around playing from day one. It's no secret ESO has to have significant updates in order to gain a bigger player base, but giving vanity pets away like this just gives out the wrong signal. I personally wouldn't mind getting the pet myself through a quest line or something like that in game, but don't make it exclusive for new players who didn't contribute to ESO in anyway so far. Just make it possible for all players, new and 'old' to get the pet. Then there's no problem at all.
