I also agree with you, I was in your guild for months in closed beta.... played the game for almost a year giving feedback.... finding bugs and I'm still not upset I didn't get a pet. Would have been cool but its not a big deal, there are bigger more important things to be upset about.

You aren't rewarded with new content because that is standard content for new accounts. You did however fix issues at double price....just saying....

Loyalty by definition is a strong feeling of support or allegiance. Just by playing the game and paying a sub you are showing loyalty..... they reward you constantly with new content.... not only that but they are looking to improve content that you have already reached.... new players aren't getting that improvement to the beginning areas or more content.... they may in the future.
Thus a loyalty program is a program the rewards people who have shown allegiance to the game...... by releasing new content they are doing that. By fixing bugs they are showing you that.

I hope this pet will be unlockable in the game some day. I'm sure that would be my favorite pet and I would really like to use it."

So yes, I am a bit disappointed right now (particularly so because I hate Steam and Valve ever since I bought Half-Life on CDROM and it permanently erased not only the Half-Life directory on my hard disk when I uninstalled it, but also the next higher level directoy including all sub-directories! So many Klik & Play games I had designed were forever lost ><).
I will get over it. The pet thing I mean. I will never forgive Valve for deleting so many things on my Harddisk with their malicious software

Didn't even bother to look at what an actual loyalty program is. We pay a sub which pays for updates fixes new content so that we do not have to go and buy separate expansions etc. A Loyalty program is meant to be an extra thank you to show that the devs appreciate the support of the player base. It doesn't have to be anything huge, most games have used cosmetic mounts, cosmetic armor/weapons, or vanity pets. Instead of doing this they dangle vanity pets in front of potential subscribers instead when the 50% off probably would be enough. This is not a F2P game we pay a fee to play that helps pay for content rather then having expansions and cash shops etc.1 -

I don't go around trying to convince others that what they hold is insignificant, if I disagree, I can always look the other way.
