Everyone who doesn't brown-nose Zenimax is a troll in this forum. In other words, being labelled a troll has pretty much become a badge of honour.

Some people drop the 'troll bomb' on people just because they disagree, true.

I think for most people with at least a double-digit IQ, the REAL trolls are pretty easily identifiable, and thankfully there isn't really a HUGE number of them. Just because someone is angry or mad at the game/devs doesn't automatically make them a troll.

I disagree. You know what else gives better right and privilege if you pay more? a cashes shop...but you already know everyone would say no to it. That's what makes this "pay more for more forum-time" idea somewhat hypocritical, considering the fact that they already paid 60$ for a game they barely play or many other reasons they stopped subs.
Besides, people can "take part" in trolling with or without subs until they get suspended or banned.

I dont see a problem with letting as many as possible post? Without us (the unsubbers) this forum would be a graveyard really. Add the upcomming ignore function on top and you will have an empty graveyard aswell...

Why would a non-subscriber, who may never bother to actually buy the game, get to post on a forum for subscribers?

TF is out there. So are a lot of other forums if you have just general questions. Not to mention the knowledge base here that anyone can search, active account or not.

Bethesda unfortunately allows random people to post, whether they own a Bethesda game or not. Personally I wish they would start using game keys; you buy a game, you get a key for the forums. You disrupt the forums and act like a total ***, your key gets banned and you can no longer post.

You might also want to edit your post after you check the spelling of clever, unless you're talking about a kitchen implement for cutting, which is indeed, a cleaver.

Well, I disagree! If a person has payed for the game then I think they should be able to post. Just cuz they stopped there sub. dose not mean that they have nothing important to say about the game. They might be just waiting to see the game improve before they come back and so they wanna get there 2 cents in on topics they care about.

Most players have left because this game has not met their standards. This thread is suggesting silencing players who have higher expectations of this Elder Scrolls game. That is productive... how?

Zenimax already does do that anyway, since without active time we cannot offer feedback no matter how long we've been in the beta, how much experience we have with the franchise, how much experience we have with the genre, how much experience we have with developing mods or how much professional game development experience we have.

The game is fun, the game is exciting but the game has so much more potential. The direction Zenimax has taken the game is not going towards that potential, and the bugs have eroded most players' patience. With the combination of both, that is why most unsubscribe.

Zenimax is even distancing themselves from the Elder Scrolls franchise:
Hi there! If you all would like to discuss The Elder Scrolls series in general, there is an area which is more appropriate; the official Bethesda Softworks forums does have a Series Discussion section for The Elder Scrolls Series. You can find that forum here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/26-the-elder-scrolls-series-discussion/.

Again, it doesn't matter why people unsubscribe because Zenimax silences them all indiscriminately anyway. Zenimax's reluctance to implement changes in the Beta is obvious enough that they've grown tired of customer feedback, and now they are outright refusing to acknowledge the majority of player feedback.

Zenimax only wants to hear good things about their game now which is probably why this obvious flame-fest has not been closed while other legitimate discussions have been closed for presumed reasons that are a severe stretch on their rules.

    1) There are proper avenues to leave feedback on why a player is dissatisfied with the game...namely the /feedback command ingame. Before sending an unsub request...make LIBERAL use of that slash command, writing your complaint in great length and detail. GUARANTEED someone will see it, rather than make an angry "I'm quitting because" post on the forums.

    2) If you unsub, then you are effectively saying you don't want to play anymore, but expect to keep spewing negativity here. I'm saying yes, that shouldn't be able to happen. If you send an unsub request...you should have 24 to 48 hours of continued forum posting ability, but after that? Nope. Regardless of whether or not you have time left on your sub or not.

    3) Yes, forum moderators are here to police threads for violations, but why should we make their job harder for them? I guarantee it's hard enough as it is, putting up with the likes of me, much less someone worse.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

This is false. I am not subscribed, but still have 5 months of game time. I also pay for my cousin, who I unsubscribed and bought 2 months from g2a with a time code.

Subscription just means your billing is recurring. I personally only want essential bills to be recurring. Everything else, I like to purchase when necessary. It does not mean I don't want to play anymore. I just don't want to be subscribed.

I think the OP want those who have cancelled but still have active playtime left to not have access to the forums which is quite frankly a dumb idea as for the period of game time they have left they are still paying customers.

Just because someone decides not to sub the next month doesn't mean they should lose features for a month they already paid for (or few months if it was a long term sub that was cancelled).

Not necessarily, you could be cancelling because you are going to occupied IRL, maybe take a break/holiday or simply don't want to be charged for a certain period (i.e. issues with pay and such).

Not everyone that cancels a sub isn't going to return to the game.

Why you unsub is irrelevant. This is not a F2P game, so if you are unsubbed you are not playing, and thereby have no place in the forums.

so people forced to use prepaid cards.....basically [Snip] them, right?

if you want to look at it like that then yeah, you or they make think its harsh but that is the reality of it. If you don't pay the dues why should you get to post, now if its just like a month cause you didn't have the money at the time then that's a different story. But, if you just unsub for whatever reason and don't plan on coming back then or coming back at a much later time. Then yeah you should reframe from posting.

Yes prepaid subbers who may have a day or two lapse between the time your card runs out and when you put more funds on it/get a new one. The exclusivity here continues unabated seriously.

*Sarcasm on: Besides, if you are prepaid and have any unforeseen circumstances, you show your irresponsibility and therefore should not be allowed to exist here. Btw, it would also allow me not to have to read posts by those who may possibly mean one thing, but are unable to express themselves clearly and say something entirely odd or out of context.

Ie: if you want to look at it like that then yeah, you or they make think its harsh but that is the reality of it. Not typo's, but rather lack of knowledge of language and how to write. *End Sarcasm.

As per this threads' topic - maybe a two-week grace period of forum access for those not current on their sub could be considered or something else reasonable, rather than 'de shud haz no cmmnts here in dis forms.' And no more reframes, please.

I really hate this elitist attitude concerning subs and forum posting. It is great that people who have bought the game and have subbed in the past can continue to post (I didn't know that they could, but if its true I think its a great idea).

Go to the support page. Send an email or open a ticket.

People who aren't currently subbed or who don't have an active account don't need to post on the forums. There are ways to contact admins or customer support without having to post on the forums.

I canceled my sub today, I'm planning on returning but right now, the only type of character I enjoy is non-staff, and non staff is severely under powered on top of a lot of other bugs, so since I'm not enjoying the game anymore I'm taking a break, I'll be back when stamina builds are competetive and werewolf gets fixed. Just though I'd post that to rile up the haters, have fun! :P

If your account is still current, post away. Make sure you use /feedback or send an email to support to let them know in detail why you're doing what you're doing. Posting to "rile up" the forum really isn't that productive or helpful to the game.

Why would a non-subscriber, who may never bother to actually buy the game, get to post on a forum for subscribers?.
There are several reasons, mostly to do with people with problems actually installing the game, etc.

Square Enix has the right idea on their FFXIV forums, a few like Tech Support and New Player are open to all, the rest aren't. This provides a means for potential players to ask questions and get help. Yes, a few trolls post in those forums but they're quickly stomped on.

It's not ideal but it's better than a blanket ban .. and why would I post a technical problem getting the game to run on Reddit?
