Totally disagree. Those people who have unsubbed may have very valid reasons for doing so. As an unhappy customer (ex customer) its in Zenimax's favour to find out what they did wrong to make that person leave and to fix it.
Zenimax sends them a survey when their sub. expires, the player has no need to be able to post more on the forums.

that actually has been reported as not working, not everyone gets the exit survey

Still no reason to let them keep posting rights.

Ive been saying this for awhile now and agree if your not willing to support the game for what ever reason justifiable or not you should not be aloud to post on this forum because most people who quit paying for what ever reason just come on here to B.M.C. there are plenty of other forums and places where you can be a troll about ESO and B.M.C. If you still have current game time then fine what ever post while you can once your timer runs out you should be locked out from posting tell you renew your game time

Trolls is not a good enough reason to treat a at the time customer like 2nd class.

You will never get away from the trolls, accept it, they exist even inside of you. They are human beings and they deserve the same respect as you, despite your personal opinions

They don't have posting rights. How many times does this have to be said?

Those with no game time left on their accounts cannot post on the forums!

The op failed to research this before creating this thread.

It's fine the way it is. If somebody gets out of hand or is too disruptive the mods will handle it. It's also one other place if someone is having problems where they can get help. Like say if they can't renew their sub for some reason.

Remove unsubbed players from the forums and now not only are they no longer playing your game, they are no longer talking about it either. They stop talking about it, they stop thinking about it, they stop thinking about it, they start thinking about someone else's game. From there you just reverse the process: thinking turns to talking, then talking turns to playing. Congratulations, you've now decreased your own demographic and can no longer glean any demographic information from them in regard to how to get their return business. Less target audience = less customers = less money = less development budget = less content = less for subscribers to do = more unsubscribed. Ban the unsubscribed? May as well try to put out a house fire by lighting more of it on fire.

Greetings, everyone. As explained in this knowledge base article, all users with active game accounts can post to the official ESO forums. While a player may have unsubscribed from the game, that same player may still have active game time on their account and thus is still able to participate on our forums. We still expect all users (including those who have unsubscribed) to abide by our Community Code of Conduct and to ensure the feedback they provide is constructive.

thanks for response @ZOS_AmeliaR Question though: is a banned account not inactive? "I have been banned unfairly" post is what led me to believe that inactive accounts were still able to post. Despite @Vis and his ego determination to get me to acknowledge him.

usually i see those people claim, "my guild memeber has been banned", or "i'm on my friends forum account to post here"

Suspended players may still be able to post, but I don't think banned people can

Anyone who purchased this game has a legitimate right to post on these forums, and recent unsubs are probably still posting because they are hoping to be lured back. Luring them back is a good thing for Zenimax...and now that they fixed the weeks old bug that broke pvp, they might be able to do so.

um...no buying the game means you wanted to play the game, by continuing to sub you want to continue to participate in the game. No more sub no more participation.

@Phantax there is plenty of public information for someone to decide if they want to re-enter game. So what about the paying community? No private forums for them? A place that is free from nonpaying trolls?

Non paying trolls can't comment here anyway. Yes you can still use the forum/comment when you unsub, but as soon as any current subscription runs out you are unable to use the forum.
So anybody that is commenting here is technically still paying !

I agree with op, if you don't pay a sub then you don't have a right to give your two cents on any forum post.

Its like note voting, if you don't vote you don't have a right to complain about the government because you don't take part in the process.

That alone is a flawed argument. I even used that one in the past. But, I don't believe it myself now.

I did not think people who had run out of game time could post, and seems I was right. Also consider someone may have to wait a while before their sub time runs out.

On the plus side, we may see a few people stick around if the new patch worked well on Cyrodiil. Credit where it is due. Well done ZOS. Have so say you dodged a bullet there.

    1. I desubbed because I don't like the feeling of a loss of liberty involved in subscriptions. ESO will have to release game time cards to my local retailers or Steam to keep me after November.

    2. Voting doesn't actually change anything. If the guy you voted for wins you can't complain because you helped him, but if he loses you also can't complain because "democracy is fair." This argument form is a fallacy. There are also a lot of people who were 15-17 during the last election but are now 19-21 and you don't think they should have the right to voice an opinion.

i am at the stage where i think they should not allow subs to post in the forums either.

the fact this thread was created when, in fact, people cannot access the forums without an active account, highlights the level of discourse.

Disagree. Some sections should be locked for subscribers, while the general section should be left open for potential new players to visit and ZoS should just pay for moderation. Imagine all the console players reading all the hate towards their favorite systems and not having a chance to respond. Could hurt business.

The term is used by too many people incorrectly. It is also against their rules to accuse someone of trolling.
