Dear Devs,

The above message is plaguing the restoration staff users especially.
Example: After a fight be it pvp or pve. If u fire off heals such as rapid regen,healing springs, etc. You will be stuck in the "unmountable" state for a very very long time.

Absurdly long. Sometimes till u have run to the next keep, totally NOT fighting whatsoever on the way-___-
Many ppl are experiencing this.

Please look into it. Thanks

Same here. Restoration staff user and cannot mount after combat for what seems forever. While in a zerg everyone else around me who participated in the same fight can mount, only me and a couple of other poor souls have to chase our own cavalry by foot. Maybe it is the long duration HoT (Mutagen) that puts me in combat forever, someone else suspected a bugged Rapid Movement..., I dont know, it is hard to keep up with a well organized group, sometimes impossible.

edit:
This only happens when actually fighting other players, not npcs like the ones guarding flags. And finally, I dont remember ever opening my map in Cyrodiil and not seeing it flash in red, even when out of combat for half an hour.

I'm having the same issues in PVE sometimes. I don't do any group heals, but I use a restoration staff.
Besides of being unable to mount, I also have the red frame arouns all menus, when this happens.

i get this on my NB all the dang time i usually end up having to go to a new zone to fix it as i cant even re-log when it happens because it thinks your in combat i have had this issue here and there since the game came out..

This is one of my favourite complaints against the game. Almost the only one.

There is no point whatsoever in preventing someone mounting even in-combat if he wants too - it would be suicide. You can't use any abilities while mounted and will just be pulled down and stunned.

Maybe this mechanic has a place in PvE but in PvP, it's nonsense.

Thanks for voicing out guys. I was beginning to wonder how come i hear ppl screaming about this everyday INGAME, but noone came forth to report on it.

The fact that we can't mount in combat...FINE. It's a mechanic...The issue is...like 5 mins after my last combat..i STILL can't mount, even tho, NO COMBAT has happened since?? Thats the "wtf" factor....

Also. Like i said previously. I never noticed this bug UNTIL i started using resto staff.
Also observed.
1: It rarely to never happens in PVE.
2: It always happens in PVP
3: It happens frequently to healers/ppl just fired off a group healing skill.

Please get your guildmates to spend 1 minute of their time to support this report.
It's really no fun watching all our mounted comrades rush off to the next objective, and we are stuck on foot(normally getting ganked when seperated from the pack)

At least in PvP you do eventually get back on your mount. In PvE on my NB, if I'm stuck in combat after a fight, I'm stuck permanently. I have to get myself killed (sometimes taking a painfully long run to find a mob to do the deed), or close game/restart in order to get my mount back.

Agree this issue sucks. Capture a resource and you are left standing there while everyone else takes off because you healed them lol...

Total pain in the azz, I take out a resto staff far from any battle cast a heal ( on none who are fighting) and bam I'm stuck in combat forever unable to mount!

If I want to mount in combat, I should be able to. The fall animation/stun is ridiculously atrocious and if i want to mount while getting beat, let me do it.

Hi everyone. When you are engaged in combat, you won't be able to mount a horse. There are ways to reduce your chance of getting knocked off a horse if you're already on it, and there's a chance you won't get knocked off while being attacked. The horse can also de-spawn during combat.
When this happens you won't be able to remount until the threat is gone.

the problem @ZOS_alvinM is that heals create a dot on other players even those that aint in your group, which is great we heal our group and friendlies.

But then after last heal and lets say farm is captured, everybody else except healers are out of combat, what happens then is we/they have to run like a whole extra minuet, while the others are already on horseback.

This creates some major problems with pvp:

1. Healers are soft targets, and if they get left behind, they might die to enemy ambush
2. If people wait, which they dont, the next mine/keep or what ever might be lost

Some how it would be great if like 10 people around you aint in combat anymore, you auto get out of combat as well, since then the dot is on someone that might be in a fight still, but far away from group, its simply not fair to healers

Thanks for the reply, however, I think you should re-read the original complaint. We're talking VERY long combat times. Running from one keep to another can take a few minutes. I don't think this is intended and your advice does not help in this case.

Yeah, no kidding. This has been an issue forever and many things known cause it, and it happens plenty often for no apparent reason. It also persists vastly beyond any reasonable duration.

The strangest to me is when in PvP, if in a large group (say running a Scroll) and someone quite far away aggros a mob it can prevent you from mounting and yet the character that drew aggro, who is far enough away that if not grouped it would never have affected you, leaves "combat status" and you can see them get to mount a full minute before you get to again..

Sometimes even after having killed people in a zone... it seem like you have to wait up to 30 seconds if not more to be able to remount your horse, itis not just a healer issue.

Keep in mind though if a member in group attract unfriendly attention no matter which, then it is only fair that everyone get affected for one reason... keep control on your group.

Please don't patronize us, some of us have been playing this game for over a year now.
And please consider actually *reading* a thread before replying to it.

This is about a BUG unique to healers. If you use a resto staff in a fight with other players you can *NOT* mount your horse for a very, very, very long time with the error message noted above.

Everyone else has already long mounted and left the battle field while the healer is still limping on foot, due to this bug.

The issue is the LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME that you are "IN COMBAT" after you spam healed everyone at a resource node (for example). As soon as the resource flips, everyone will mount up and ride away. If you are a HEALER you have to stand around like a *** for 60 seconds or so before the game will let you mount due to being "you are still in combat you cannot mount".

That is the problem, it has nothing to do with horse stamina...

If you are reading this thread and you are not a healer and you feel the urge to respond to this thread telling us everything is fine, we should check our horse's stamina/group mates' combat status or whatever wise counsel you may have, do something first please:

Go to PvP, capture a node, ride away, stop and look back: what you will see is half a dozen staff wielders running behind you like idiots. Hello, thats us, you call us healers. We are not level 10 noobs without a horse and we dont do this on purpose, We cannot mount and we may not be able to mount for another 3 minutes while every other person in and outside our group mounted a minute ago.

That's the issue and nothing else.

@ZOS_AlvinM - You might want to actually read post you're responding to before replying.

EDIT: Oh, and to add to the thread topic: I've played with a Restoration Staff in PvE a bit just to level it up. I have not noticed any issues at all. I haven't tried it in PvP (as I don't generally PvP at all).

I play a Resto Staff Templar and have only experienced this on PvP. Every night I log on my healer in Cyrodiil there are numerous occasions where I cannot mount due to "being in combat" when I am NOT in combat. I understand that I cannot mount a horse some time (like 5-10 sec) after combat has ended but there are times it lasts forever and gets extremely frustrating. Often when I respawn at a forward camp after death, I get the message that I am still in combat and cannot mount. GRRR! I cannot be productive to my teammates if I cannot get to them in time to help heal. Please fix this ASAP!

I some times used to go heal with my sorcerer for extra heals, but after a while, I just grow so tired of this issue thats involves healers cant mount 1 min after the others in group are all on horses.

Healers are getting punished for this in pvp

Dear @ZOS_AlvinM,

I think u have misunderstood what we are trying to say.

The issue is, when we use our staff to heal, and everyone else is OUT OF COMBAT and can mount and move off, we healers are still NOT ABLE TO MOUNT. with the message "u cannot mount in combat"
But we aree OUT of combat already!

So the in point form, the BUG is.....

1) Noticed after using heals from restoration staff line, player is stuck "in combat" status

2) Non healers are not affected by it(some are, but majority is healers)

3) It is a bug which keeps us from mounting LONG AFTER COMBAT HAS ENDED. Roughly a whole minute, sometimes even more.

Please look into this. It is a serious issue and causes unnecessary problems.
A whole tactic is formed around this bug.

EXAMPLE: Gank squads. These people wait in between resources or objectives in stealth to catch "stragglers"
More often than not people are FORCED to lag behind, due to the fact that their team has mounted and is galloping off to the next objective. So u are the lone(maybe 3 healers) left behind running and will be caught by enemies hiding in stealth just waiting for this opportunity.

U can see by the surge of responses over time. It was first a minor hinderance, now it's a PROBLEM as more and more people are realising that this is a BUG that has not been adressed for months.

Once again. PLEASE fix it. Before more people get pissed off and this starts to erupt more than it already has.

That's not the complaint.

It's after combat is over, usually in PvP, the game says you are in combat for A LONG TIME, often you can run on foot from one keep to the other with it saying "you cannot mount in combat" the entire time.

No offense to ZoS staff, I appreciate you guys doing all you can for customers in forums, but can we get Devs to answer questions in this section? - it seems we get way too many copy/paste answers to real issues.
