npcs and players teleport around me

If the issue with lag in pve and pvp have been fixed today, I've probably a problem: when I fight mobs, I often see them teleporting: they are a few meters away and suddenly appear elsewhere around me. It does happen often, even if it's not every mobs in each fight. It was not the case before 1.2.4. It's also the case with players: from time to time, one of them teleport a few meters from its position..Am I the only one with this problem?

Sounds a lot like packet loss to me, your connection is slowed/stopped intermittently for a short period then everything 'rushes' to catch up.

Probably yes, I'm currently investigating to find the reason. It's probably on my end. I wanted to know if it was just me before doing anything ^^ thanks for your answer.

I saw an amount of 'micro-teleporting' last night on the EU server I've never seen as badly before which was clearly internet latency or packet loss.

packet loss is usually caused by a "dirty" connection.
This can be caused by using Wireless internet or damaged lines outside.

to eliminate any faults on your end make sure to connect the computer via cable to the router.

www.pingtest.net (requires Java and flash) is a nice tool to check the quality of your connection.
if you use a cable to connect and the results are bad contact your ISP to get the line checked.

Yes, it CAN be caused like that, on the other hand it's far, far more likely to be caused by congestion somewhere on the route from one end of the connection to the other.

I was seeing this big time with the fps issues/memory leaks the game now has. The hot fix yesterday fixed it somewhat. I sent lots of documentation in with issues just like the OP. CS has acknowledged the fps issues as well as memory leaks. There is some freaky thing going on where the game just stops using the GPU, memory goes nuts, fps freak and you see all kinds of freaky with NPC's and players at that point. Not saying your connection isn't the issue but I showed my connection was not the problem and backed up system info to show the game IS the problem, for me anyway. It is better now but not 100% for me. Hope you get things worked out.

    Concerning the pingtest.net:
I did the test a few times. Each time the result is "excellent" with 0% packet loss.

And that's with a wireless connection. But a good one and only a few meters away from the Internet box.

Anyway, I can't be sure that my wireless connection is always perfect. Maybe my computer shortly struggles to use it (USB ports..) in some specific case. Or it could be (more probably) the connection from EU to the US server who is not good enough from time to time.

That said, It's not all the time, it's short and not game breaking.

This is going on my nerves. I can't play anymore

In each fight, mobs just teleport around me half the time instead of doing their animation. It seems to be mainly npcs. WHen I get out of an attack red zone, I'm often hit by the spell anyway...It's like I'm playing with half a second of latency, permanently. My skills are more reactive visually but they don't seem to hit in time my target..it's some sort of permanent desync between me and the server.

I think I've tried all I could do on my side. I'm about to give up and come back later to see if the problem is solved. But I'm slowly loosing faith to be honest..

Have you tried being directly connected to your internet connection and not use wireless? They are going to pin it on wireless since it is not a "perfect connection" and there is always room for it to drop for any reason. If possible try being directly connected instead of wireless and see how it goes.

I'll try to find a cable long enough to test it. It wouldn't be easy for me to have this cable running in the middle of my home but I'll do the test if it's long enough ^^

    Anyway:

    - The problem appeared after 1.2.5.
    - My ping test show that there's no packet loss and a normal ping.
    - It's almost permanent (no lag spikes as it can be the case on week-end).

I think that they have changed something that my computer doesn't like. It could be the netcode or the way things are displayed on screen (CPU/GPU).

Or lag. But there aren't so many people suddenly complaining about the lag. It looks like it's corrected since 1.2.5 for everyone.

I should not complain since I use a wireless connection with an old GPU. But I used to be able to play for a long time without any problem with the proper settings (firewall adjusted / custom GFX settings / no other programms running etc..). It's just that It looks like it's not the case anymore ;(
