I know what you mean. This thread has been turned into a troll festival by a select group of naysayers. They refuse to accept the facts even though the evidence is right in front of them and continue to argue in ignorance. At this point I will let the poll speak for it self and chalk up any disapproval to incomprehension.

The people saying you can't see the ball aren't knowledgeable, they're confused. They probably play on high pop campaigns where the bug is more persistent.

You're supposed to be able to see enemy mage lights and in most cases you can. Here's some video proof:

You are wrong in saying that server pop is the cause of the missing ball. If you are not present when the light is summoned it will remain invisible to you indefinitely. Whether or not this is a bug does not change the fact that the ball is not visible to other players on a regular basis rendering your argument moot.

Remove it entirely. I'd like to keep my eyesight, thank you very much, and burning out my retinas runs contrary to that goal.

Just kill the Orb-Of-Blinding-Players-Permanently entirely and leave the rest as is. Simple fix.

Remove it or put it in the OTHER morph from Inner Light. It's made SOLELY to annoy player with it's sound, really really distracting character of the floating light ball and cutting a bunch of your FPS (getting from my low standard of 22 to 16 with it active, thanks to additional light&shadow effects)

Yup I noticed that too. Since the new lighting patch was added I loose almost 10 fps with mage light on. In certain areas with high lighting effects I get a significant fps loss.

It breaks enemy stealth, how fair is it to have a stealth stealth breaker? stealth would be useless in pvp

it gives you increased vision of stealth units and also gives you spell crit, If I see a mage/whatever with it on I tend to avoid them. If it had no animation.. just be stupid.

Maybe don't have it on all the time? there you go.

So the glowing eyes and hands arent enough for you? Are you people blind?

    previously on...
So apparently there is a bug? that makes the ball invisible if you were not nearby when it was summoned. Some say its due to server pop but it happens 90% of the time so that is unlikely but w/e. The point is that the ball usually cant be seen by other players and anyone who says they use it as a visual queue to know when to avoid players running mage light is talking crap as that only works in theory and not in practice consistently.

Now to respond to the quote above ignoring the bug. Why should you benefit from an enemy players mage light? PVP is about confrontation not circumvention.
If mage light is designed to reveal players in stealth and stealthed players avoid anyone using mage light then is mage light the equivalent of unflagging yourself for pvp?

Going to have to go with No on this one. First off, I play in 1st person so doesn't really bother me. Secondly, its a skill that has a PvP effect, hence it should be very obvious to everyone in sight distance that you are using it.

If the get rid of the special effect, then they would also have to nullify its ability to detect stealthed players... would you still go for it that way?

I've recently made the same poll about removing the orb from Inner Light morph and it also met with more of a success.
    70% - delete the orb
    22% - don't mind
    6% - keep the orb

but for some reason it equals 98% lol... Illuminati!
Anyway, yeah get rid of that ball and I might use this ability again, I hate that ball!

If it hurts your eyes, something I find very hard to believe, then you must have your monitor brightness set too high.

Absolute rubbish, people have different sensativities to different things.

Last year I bought a high end monitor and found it gave me awful migraines and at first I couldn't understand why. After a bit of research, I discovered while most people had no problems, many had the same problem I had, and people were having it with nearly all of the new led backlit monitors.

Turns out all but a few manafactures use a system to dim the screen called Pulse Width Modulation

    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/pulse_width_modulation.htm

Where to dim the screen, they are turning the leds on and off really fast.

For most people, they didnt notice.

Some noticed but didn't cause a problem.

Many migrain sufferers found them unbearable.

Thankfully there are a few manafactures who don't use that process (in some of their models), I returned my monitor and swapped it for one of those (Dell U2713HM) and haven't had a problem since, well that is until I started using mage light

Standard magelight - Summons a light that reveals hidden and invisible enemies within 12 meters. Reduces Max Magicka by 5% and increases Spell Critical strike chance by 7%. Toggle to activate. glowing ball

Inner light - Summons a light that reveals hidden and invisible enemies within 12 meters. Reduces Max Magicka by 5% and increases Spell Critical strike chance by 17%. Toggle to activate. REALLY glowing ball , smoky eyes, arms

Radiant magelight -Summons a light that reveals hidden and invisible enemies within 12 meters. Reduces Max Magicka by 5% and increases Spell Critical strike chance by 10%. Nearby allies take 50% less damage from stealthed attacks. Toggle to activate. wtf no glowing ball

It seems the graphics for Inner light and radiant magelight are swapped somehow.
The stealth breaking discussion is completely moot since it's radiant magelight that gives the big bonus and you don't see that ball.

I need my inner light for crit reasons obviously. I get an angrily buzzing mosquito that swallowed a lighthouse for free ...

I like it, its a sure reminder the buff is up, the other aura is hard to distinguish. It gives me more light to see in the dark. those that play in first person with problems should keep asking for a fix to the effect in that view instead of nerfing it for others that play otherwise
