The humorless people are definately the best in this thread ^^ .

Especially their solutions, "get drunk" , "get layed" (with being married *lol* XD) a. s. o.

What I think could help, would be if you explain to her why gaming is just so much fun, and if you want, there are studies that say that gaming stimulates intelligence, in contrast to i. e. watching TV :) .
Should you ever get too intelligent, you can still use the methods of the earnest people ^^ .

Thx to Giny, Sarana, Thaili, Derra, Cherahim, Gloy, Raweelz and Drimacus, you make the game worth playing even with AoE-caps, no usefull progression past Assault / Support Rank 10, and with PvP being not even close to balanced.

I'm with @Obscure‌ on this one. starting out honest is the best bet. I'm a lifelong geek and I made good and dang sure I not only made that clear to the boyfriend from the start, but also chose another geek to begin with. Who needs the hassle of racial mixing? (Yes, I consider non-geeks another race, perhaps even another species, unworthy of my time and attention. :p ) Granted, he's an MMO gamer while I'm far more into any other other kind of RPG, but because I don't expect him to to whine at me when I'm playing, I don't whine at him while he's playing. The only exceptions to this are when he's playing his alt when we are supposed to be playing together, or he wants his dinner cooked when I'm in the middle of an interesting quest line or important crafting.

Indeed! Honesty, and mostly honesty with yourself.

No need to fake being anything other than what you are. You're a nerdy gamer? Be a nerdy gamer. Embrace it openly. Let the world know and pay no mind to those who don't like it. You are the only you there is ever going to be, so just be that. Life is way to short to waste time bull ***ing around with someone who doesn't get you because you never let them know. Show them up front and let the chips fall where they may. They don't like it? Move on. Billions of options out there, and there's no need to fake it with any one of them.

Complete useless waste of forums space and a tosh sarcastic topic, does it get closed by forum mods? Nope. Commented on and moved. Yet countless threads pointing out the utter crap state of the game and lack of useable mental facilities by the devs, are closed nonstop with mods commenting on them: this doesn't pertain to game discussion, closing thread.

Knee deep in fail. GG on the topic that points out what an inept partner you are and how lucky we are to have you off the market, so we don't end up stuck with a hot pocket devouring pop swilling basement dweller :)

Me thinks someone needs to get drunk, layed or both. Lighten up just a tad man, this is just a game. If it is dragging you down that much then I strongly recommend you move on. Life is way to short to go through it bitter.

Wow a 11 years as bf/gf well gratz. I don't have same issue so I don't know. My wife bought me what I needed to build my system. My daughters get in a chair to watch me play. The 5 year old tells me not to kill nabees(butterflies) or she will be angry(in hungoul). I go out around the world and when I am home it is either barbies or ESO. Tip: no clue ummm say she is beautiful? The sex is the answer? Marathon? Sounds like an exercise. Truthful your game needs to come last. If u truly care.

A 50 inch tv in the living room, a lap top with about 100 mystery novels, a full size sound system, with the kitchen between there and my computer room. Hardly even know that they are in the house and all is happy. Of course having been married for 40 years also helps.

My wife never cared. She even tried to spoon feed me about six years ago when I was raiding. I asked her wtf are you doing spoon feeding me? All she said was.. You need to eat. To me it was creepy. It's about as funny as really having one of those toilette chairs at your desk.

Even with my wife so accepting of my gaming.. Mmorpgs take up a lot of free time if you want to get anywhere. I could have went on being selfish. Spending all my free time online gaming. Not doing anything with her. So I made her a character she could follow me around to heal me with and showed her how to collect stuff and make potions for me.

It's about compromise. Next time your wife complains you don't do anything with her. Agree with her. Tell her to game with you..

    @‌ OP

Perhaps its time to share your life with her in a more balance way; gaming time, gf time, kids time, and just blend it together ... and if she's your GF for 11 years, perhaps its time to make your marriage with her official, lol. If you can't love her, respect her, and work out a good balance, than you two should move on without each other.

Dear Sir, :) I advise that you should actually take a month off from gaming. I realise this will be painful but it could be in a good cause - for two reasons.

Firstly, spend this month helping out around the house - everywhere, all the time, in the way. Clean out the spare rooms or garage, if you have them, taking care to be creative in placing things out of your way while trying to bring order to the room :).

Secondly, you have a six year old daughter, the time you spend gaming is time you're are missing watching her grow up. Spend time with your daughter, and her Mum (I assume the GF is her mum). The first activity, if done "properly" will impress your GF (either with you or with keeping you occupied so that she doesn't have more work to do), the second activity might make you less regretful of what you might have missed, later in life.

Either result can be good - from a certain POV.

    Congrats to your husband :)

My wife is cute and hot and everything, but she's a concert pianist. So she practices all the time - meaning that she doesn't understand why anyone would waste their time on games. So...yeah...point of contention in our relationship, too.

Fortunately, she practices all the time...

Use diversionary tactics. Shopping trips, day spas. Bombard them with kindness.

Give the 6-year-old her on computer. Introduce her to gaming.

To add to that go buy a bunch of med evil outfits for entire family...goto a ren fest together...or a comic con....get them evolved with off screen enjoyments of gaming....A good ratio is 3 hrs gaming to 1 hour not....lol

I've heard stories like this before and it always makes me feel a bit sad. If couples don't have shared interests, they should at least try to understand and respect the ones of each other.
I consider myself a lucky one because I have so many similar interests with my boyfriend. We have been playing other MMO's together but I think ESO is the first one we really, really, really enjoy together. There is no nagging about gaming because we both know how important it is for both of us.
If I wasn't into games, I would honor my bf's decision to play rather than spend all his free time with me. Sometimes it seems like the people who like to nag about everything don't really recognize their own desires in life.
That's what a dose of reality does for you. Never touch the stuff myself.

I've tried all my agro reduction skills/spells, deflections, distractions, and diversions, but it seems like 11 years of overuse on my part may have inadvertently built up my girlfriend's racial immunity passives. Now I'm continually hounded to be more sociable, to engage with family and friends (offline!), and to "leave the house and get some sun, for christ's sake." I've used up everything in my arsenal, including pulling out the trump card -- a study demonstrating that female nagging kills men (Study: Nagging By A Spouse Could Shorten Your Life) -- although I'm not sure if that was an intelligent move on my part; her complaints have only intensified.

Obviously if I'm forced to choose between on the one hand, ESO, and on the other, my gorgeous, young (she's 30, I'm 43) girlfriend of 11 years and my 6-year-old daughter (her birthday's today, btw), ESO wins hands down; but is there anything left at my disposal to make sure it doesn't come to that? I really do love them, sort of. When they're not nagging me.

    Tips welcome!

guyz look how hot my girlfriend is. Too bad I can't just wire her mouth shut because she's only there for one thing rite? *nudge nudge wink wink*

Considering men live 9 years longer and women 9 years less when married, you are actually the one sucking her life away.

    Dames, though, amirite?
