    This is across the board.

    Percent change formula:
    [(2582 - 2152) / 2582 ] * 100% = 16.65375677769... % less health

Great to see someone looking at the facts rather than pulling dodgy numbers out of thin air (33-50% REALLY??).

    16% less health + lets assume 16% less damage = 32% nerf

You never did well in math class, did you?

So maybe you can correct me then. They are 16% easier to kill and do 16% less damage to you. you will take 16% less damage and they will take 16% more damage.

    I'm all ears
    This makes no sense.
16% less health means they will die faster and deal even less damage, so even if it is just 16% damage nerf, a 35% overall nerf sounds exactly right
suppose a mob previously last 10 sec, deal 100 damage each sec.
now it lasts 8.4 sec, deals 84 damage each sec.

Total damage out put was 1000 before, and 705 now. So its a 29.5% nerf.

but remember you are being hit by a couple of other mobs to (3 groups was the main complaint) So taking out 3 groups is a damn sight easier when they are all doing 16% less damage and all are 16% easier to kill

    well, lets check

suppose you are attacking 2 mobs, just to simplify the calculation.

mob 1 lasted 8.4 sec, and dealt 705 damage. in this whole time, mob 2 also dealt 705 damage.

after mob 1 is dead, you kill mob 2 in another 8.4 sec, and received 705 damage.

so total damage from two mobs is 705*3=2115.

before nerf. mob 1 dealt 1000 damage, mob 2 dealt 1000+1000 damage. the total damage you received is 3000.

the nerf is thus 885/3000=.......29.5% exactly the same as if you are dealing with 1 mob.

It isn't terrible, but its pretty bad.

I fought an elite v10 troll as v8 this morning in all cloth, no ward, and let it stand there and slap me over and over again three times. I lost a third of my health total!

The LONG windup ranged dagger throws that you used to have to dodge or block? Yeah. They do 100 damage now! You can safely stand in fire and ignore them.

Want to solo that elite v10 Wisp Mother at v8? Yeah sure, no problem. The wisps she summons hit for so little I let three of them just gnaw on my cloth armor while I pew pew'd her to death.

They should give us a "Stands in Fire" title for completing Cadwell's quest now instead of "Hero of Tamriel."

    Hero my arse! XD

Cool, I guess I should try to finish the handful of outstanding VR quests I have tonight.
Life of a Nightblade (Screenshot Tumblr)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

Why do people who've already completed the VR content care anyway?

Because they had to walk up the hill backwards, on one leg, in a pink tutu, while it was snowing, with a blindfold on, with grandma on their shoulders, so everyone has to do it that way, or their willys will shrink.
    _______________

Nope. The opposing view is justified by many different reasons. Mine are varied, but primarily include the huge change in overall design and goals of this MMO, in addition to the consequences to V+11 and 12 and all upcoming content including the work on TESO's first expansion... that will be a result of the V+1-10 'just a tad' nerfing.

I have no willy, but my wanda is quite effective.
Solo-ability in TESO: all the time, all the way. :\

Vets in V+11 and 12 content don't have "grandma on their shoulders", but they have been notified about the others they are about to start carrying unless of course, Phase II of ZOS's 'just a tad' nerfing includes V+11 and 12 as well...

VR content was never hard, it was just tedious. Now it's tedious and easy. Should've just made a "Easy Mode" for the unskilled masses who just want to experience the quests and lore, adjusted the loot table to appropriately reward players for their effort (or more fittingly lack of effort) and left the Normal Mode alone. Then they should've made an actual "Hard Mode" where solo play is borderline impossible and is only suited for groups, again with appropriate reward adjustments to the loot tables.

You felt suitably rewarded by your pre-nerf experience of completing veteran zones and the Cadwell's Gold quest?

    I didn't.

I don't think the rewards would even reflect the tedium of going through the veteran zones again in easy-mode.

Same mod data, etc. as for my last post. For those wondering... yes, I did just stand there and let her ravage my sweet, sweet body. For the second time, anyway. The first, I didn't even realize she was a boss since I didn't see a shiny health bar courtesy of my addon. Oops.

Again: my spell resist, armor rating, and VR level all changed (I was wearing VR1 gear at VR5 or VR6, vs. now wearing gear at my level and softcapped), and I didn't think to record the decay level of my armor in the first image so I don't have that information (this would have affected spell resist due to the heavy armor passive).

    Before:

    After:

    [(1279 - 894) / 1279] * 100% = 30.1016419774...%

I can't check with the worm cultists in Vernim wood since they're cleared out of the area now that I finished the questline. So the only thing I have left for comparison are the boneshapers, which I'm still trying to find -- don't remember where they are. If I find anything else at VR level that isn't Fildgor Orcthane, I'll compare that too.

Sadly we lack full information...I am sure zenimax actually shows drops in log in and drops in time played to justify their actions...so for everyone upset at the nerf....well sorry your minority opinion lost this round...anyone with a brain knows this is about numbers...and changes to the game does not come from forum complaints alone. ..When you see your new vet levels only run 10% or less capacity...you have to do something. They did...I am glad they are responding to issues...sadly it also makes me feel more like a paid beta subscriber then an end user. Was this right or wrong? The numbers will tell. I for one will be happy to log in today and finish quest I could not solo before...heck now I might even play more then the Cadwell missions...I might even see more people at the bank today, in zone, for a change.

I think they could have 'fixed' the massive leashing issue and allowed people the option to run run run away!

Currently you will get hit by 100% of enemy attacks from a huge distance away, and they almost never reset unless you engage in combat with them (or allow them one melee hit)

Sucks that strategy and reworking load-outs has been removed. I agree that some places the VR content was insane. One auto/skill from a pack of 4 and you were taking a dirt nap. Every special did 1-2k. I do think it was tuned to a small party or mix/max with lots off CC as solo.

All this leads to are more incompetent max lv players, although Anoms etc created a fair few of those too

I am really finding it hard to get pumped to log in anymore. I'd love to run vet dungeons for a change, but there is zero reason for almost anyone to do it ... therefore they don't get run. Trials are decent, but the replay-ability is quite low, as are the rewards for doing so.

I keep hearing about people running naked and questing now in VR areas. Lets see them do it solo with a stamina build. I am sure you could run around and spam AOE with a destro staff, only because that is already OP (though, I don't think that should be nerfed). Put a few of those in a group and you can faceroll anything anyway.

That has always been the "easy button" in this game. Any player using it and complaining that things aren't difficult enough loses credibility.

This medium armor, bow/DW NB thinks the changes sound great. Now, if they could just allow us to group with folks that have already completed quests or not completed quests that we have (fix phasing), the replayability will be boosted and my biggest gripe with PvE would be fixed.

All this nonsense about people not learning how to avoid red aoe, to block, roll dodge etc... please, that kind of stuff takes all of 1 minute to learn and I am sure they will the hard way when they reach Craglorn.

The level up experience and the experience on max level is something you never get back.

We already learn nothing from 1-50, if people now also learn nothing from VR1-10 then I see a major outcry very soon at this forum when people are kicked for their poor performance from any group possible.

Elitism is poison to games, but Elitism is created due nerfs like this.

Why do you have to say some stuff that actually makes sense? It's so much easier if all you say it just elitist clap trap, we can ignore. Damn you!!!

there are for too many people saying the same thing for this to be an elitist opinion. The whole concept of elitism is that they are a small minority of the top performing players. You cant call everyone who performs better than you elitist because that line is redrawn for everyone.

Very much doubt he performs better than me. I have never claimed to struggle with VR content. I actually enjoyed the challenge. Then again after a decade of playing MMO's, I damn sure should know what I'm doing. No I just hate elitism, always have.

Not every one that calls others elitist is a mouth breather. Heck I used to have amazing fun in Arathi Basin, seeing all those raiders with their Asscandi's. I'd go and disarm them (since they all had crusader enchants) with my Arc Reaper (with a weapon chain) and destroy them. I have been trolling self professed elite players ever since.

I do fear for the quality of pug's at end game after these changes though. But it's better to have to suffer some clowns in pugs, than to have no players pugging at all.

They tried to get their point across in a civil and intelligent manor for the most part (there will always be those few exceptions tot he rule). Yet it seems on these forums that anyone not agreeing with someone's opinion is trolling?

Let me ask you this: How does being able to completely ignore game mechanics make you feel like a hero? Those long windup ranged dagger throws? You can completely ignore them now. The obvious fire? Go ahead, stand in it.

Running to home plate without being expected to hit the ball isn't my idea of heroic, nor should throwing a tantrum until they let you be a behavior we encourage.

But whatever. The next wave of threads will come a month from now when everyone that complained is bored mashing the same 5 buttons over and over and never having to think and still win, demanding they change veteran levels to be less boring and repetitive.

Meanwhile the people that enjoyed the game all along will be long gone.

The VR content was not so hard for people who understand wtf an mmo is and played through the first 50 levels, could it have been toned down by a maximum of 15% for players who are just bad and don't get how to dodge/block... sure.
THE MAIN PROBLEM WAS NOT THE DIFFICULTY BUT THE FACT THAT PEOPLE WOULD GET THROUGH THE CHALLENGE AND THEN GET A TOTALLY USELESS REWARD AND A SQUIRT OF *** WORTH OF XP.

Now the bad players will never get better, or learn mechanics that they need to use to survive... because you made those skills and the need to use them irrelevant.

Please, realize that now you have gone from a challenging grind that had bad rewards and XP....
to ZERO challenge that has the same lack of rewards and XP.

Hey, thanks for lumping us all into your prejudice man! It really means a lot!

What I have said sometimes may seem condescending and L2P, but my intentions have always been to try to encourage not belittle. It's amazing how hard it is to present that with text. Especially since the reader can put any tone to what he/she is reading, thus creating a bias.

You know what I have been doing in the month since I reached v12? Helping others through vet quests, traveling back to vet zones to help people (anyone who asks for it in chat) with bosses, dolmens, etc. I've beat em all, but I'll do it again to help someone out.

With text communication being what it is, people on any forum take things misconstrued, tempers flare. Those who have been posting a long time start to get ornery, or stop padding their posts. And even then, when they try to be actually helpful, people take it as either snide, or trolling.

If you are reading this with the wrong tone, I'm somewhat irked. :)
    (Not offended, never offended... Lol)

Anyways, there are other forums you can go to for help with a problem.

I have seen far far far more people calling anyone unhappy with the change things like elitist snobs etc than I ever witnessed the other way round.

But there are some on both sides that don't seem to be able to communicate without using insults, please do not presume most of us act like that, regardless of which viewpoint we hold.
