demonlkojipub19_ESO✭✭✭✭✭I have different idea.ZoS had a video of crafting in tamriel, and stated within that video (and probably elsewhere) that crafters will make the best gear. I expect them to hold to that and not have dungeons and trials dropping better gear. If anything, they should instead drop recipes, either piece by piece or just set bonus recipes, that take 7 or 8 traits researched, and even that recipe has to be researched.2 -

Shals curse is a crap set if you want a good crafted set for dps get a 6 trait that you can make with no problems now and of you want to tank there are better sets also. So again crafting is ez if you want a useful set4 -

There needs to be drops that are desirable, that's the bottom line. That's what will get people to repeat content which is what makes a successful PvE end-game. To keep crafting viable, what about drops that modify your existing equipment. Special glyphs that allow you to add a secondary enchant to your existing armor or weapon. Or, how about unique motif conversion kits that allow you to change your current armor or weapon's style to something unique for that dungeon (one kit would convert one piece, so you'd have to repeat if you wanted your whole outfit converted). Dyes, pets, mounts, etc. would also give people incentive.0 -

That it wouldn't be like other MMOs where crafting went to the wayside for dropped loot.
Please ZOS honor you earlier statements and allow crafting to remain important to the ESO experience.2 -

It doesn't need to be overwhelmingly better than crafted gear. Certainly not so much better that it gates players from content. But it should be aesthetically more pleasing than crafted items and it should have unique enchantments or set bonuses that are more desirable than their crafted counterparts. It devalues the actual content there is no skill or challenge involved . Its just time sink crafting . If they are gonna go the route of best crafted . Then all rare mats should be dropped inend game boss loot tables. As well as 8 trait sets being one use reciepes dropped from end game encounters. That way truly skilled pve players have value to thier time . They can sell their unwanted mats and reciepies to Pvp'rs and money grubbing market dominators.2 -

No one is forced to grind for gear drops this way and PvEr's should be happier.1

Not true. Nightengale 'windshear, several irems were far superior to what you coyld craft. I would be for crafted be best if crafting required skill knowledge and was not just f fest of time sinks. Had crafting been a slick system like eq2 that required actually playing the game. This game is dancing the line dangerously so.2 -

In Skyrim if you wanted the very best gear in the game you crafted it. Also this is not Skyrim this a game that advertised the importance of crafted gear.

Zorrashi✭✭✭✭✭No , those items seems good enough for PvE End Game Content!All of those skill points, and all of the deconstructing, all of the researching....I wouldn't want all of that to be for naught just because they want to cater to the 'fighting-style' player.
I'll admit, people need to get rewarded with something more when they get to end game bosses and whatnot, but I don't want it to be at the expense of crafters. Give them more money, soul gems or even unique pieces of gear that look cool and/or have unique enchants, but I don't want it to be superior to crafted items.2 -

I have different idea.I think that unique materials should be used that make better items than normal mats for that zone level instead of gear as this would keep crafting alive in the game & still give players an incentive to run dungeons/trials. If you don't want to craft the mats could then be sold on for a premium price like purple motifs & if you don't want to run end game you can buy mats again for a premium price to craft gear that will sell for more like imperial motif. This way it creates a better economy, keeps crafting superior & also make dungeons/trials appealing to re-run. If you like to craft & do end game you'd be on a winner no cost 100% profit plus best gear2

Zabus✭✭✭✭They should be equal in my opinion. Crafted takes forever to research, and they deserve to be worthwhile. With the announcement of a new trait being implemented this will only introduce longer research times.
I also do believe players should be rewarded with better loot, so that everyone who doesn't want to be a crafter or pay for sets be left out. This is where Trials and Delves come in to balance that out.

✭✭I have different idea.I want trials, dungeons, world bosses, and random drops to drop items (like trophies) that can be used to make sets. Not sets themselves. They have really backed themselves into a corner with the philosophy that crafted items will always be better, because they gave no incentive to run the content due to the rewards being inferior. If they actually made the crafting system have value for motivating content runs, it would remedy their problem. (I believe a few things were mentioned in this regard during the panel)
As it is, you can craft something with very easy to find stuff, or you can upgrade a set. That's pretty much it. the concept feels hollow. Where's the motivation? Players feel their dropped sets are inferior, even if they have good bonuses, because frankly they are in several respects. And there is no real rarity or incentive with crafted sets.
Now say we found a 'gem' or 'shard' or any sort of item of say, the warlock set, which we would then use to craft a set piece using those items. It could even have requisites like number of traits researched to use. It would give incentive to do the content, while still having crafting be on top.
As long as sets and crafting remain as they are I see many things fall off in terms of lategame content and motivation.
