In Skyrim it didn't take nearly 26 days to research a trait for crafted pieces... and that's after the previous 3 weeks to learn the first 7. There are 7 armour pieces to learn traits for (or 14 if you're doing clothing) and only 3 research slots to do it in... and this presumes you have maxed out the passives necessary to do this. Aside, of course, from all the time spent levelling the skill and farming the materials.Kalann_Pander wrote: »In Skyrim, there was a good balance between crafted and uniques. No one said it was 'hard' but it does take an investment of time to make the best sets in game that need you to know all 8 traits on an item before you can make a set piece from it.
You won't find many people who can do that for you yet, let alone 15. Of course if you take a piece or two from each one....

- Yes , i'd love to see new items but they should be equal to crafted items.
Not stronger, not weaker, equal
There's a truckload of unique items available in ES lore, and quite a few players (me for one) I'm sure, would be quite happy to put their hands on one of these artefacts.

So allready 6 Players want to destroy crafting......what a shame...
Just hope ZOS never listen to them.
since you didn't put an option for crafted gear must always be better i'll go with this. the trend however in many other games is to make the dungeon gear better and make crafting a worthless thing to do. fortunately in this game they have moved away from that. if getting a shiny new piece of gear that makes you feel superior from a dungeon instead of a crafting profession is a deal breaker for you then go play something else.
having rare mats drop in dungeons is the same thing as farming/raiding for gear essentially. SWTOR and WoW did this just to name a couple games.
if you need some kind of incentive to do the content then have something that augments your crafted gear so that its only useful in those dungeons/raids much like pvp gear is good in a pvp setting only.
