Disable all sound. I tested this, my FPS went from 2-4 to 22-30.

**** The lastest patch seems to have fixed this. You should be able to turn sound back on. ****

I have been theorizing there are serious sound sync issues for a while. Unfortunately I cant find a way to resolve them through adjusting sound settings in game or in system.

Its like sound get desyncd and never catched up. Did a PvE thing last night, Veteran FG and I was hearing sounds of my attacks a full 30 seconds after the boss died.

I will try this and tell you how it does. Does I disable game sounds or mute computer?

There are two options you can toggle off in the sound menu, I turned them both off.

Thats great but I would still be missing 70 FPS. This does not work for everyone as it was one of the first things i did. :/ Hope it helps some though.

I'm sorry to hear that man. I played at 35 FPS best case scenario, but I am a cheapskate and I dont even have an actual video card. Are you using SLI or crossfire? I know one of my friends had to disable his to get it to work right back in beta.

I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying you can't play without sound?

Lmao really you play without sound? That's desperation there. I would just assume not play but knowing zos they would think this is acceptable. Such a terrible company.

I play with death metal blaring in my office. Disabling sound really isn't an issue for me.

Wow! Looking good so far. Very small sample, though, now to test in questing. But horse appeared in <1 second rather than 10-20 seconds, and riding around town and zoning into locations everything was there straight away.

Edit - Looking good - now the ultimate test - Dolmens.
Edit 2 - Yeah, with sound off, performance is back to 1.2.2 levels in PvE for me, from unplayable.

Confirmed for pve. Disabled sound and could see mobs ahead as I rode and saw my spell effects again for the first time in days. Still felt choppy and less than optimum but its playable.
    Do you even backstory, bro?

Well, since ESO is setting my GPU into Standby Mode, it dosnt help me.

Still going down to 3fps and stand there as long as not relogging.

This is not fix! This is bullsh*t! Disable all particle effects, disable sound and pay us 15 bucks/month for this...
WTF? Is this 2014 MMO or what?

Playing BF4 until they fix FPS issue. At least, I have 80 FPS here at High settings...

Funny is on Morrowind if you turned music off game would start to lag all the time. So always had to keep it on or a notch before it off. And people say ESO don't feel like an ES game! Lots of bugs, lots of addons that can't be liven without. This is a ES game and we all should been prepared.

Well tried sound off in cyrodiil and seems it help little when frames drop only to 20 but it so dump play whit out sound! So need still wait for fix.

None of both. Just a single GTX660 OC.

But does it matter? Before 1.2.3 i got stable 30+fps in big PvP Battles.

Fixes are definitely needed, and from the sound of it, they are saying it will be fixed on Monday. But in the meantime:

I am testing a theory about this issue, so here are a couple of Serious questions:

Are the folks who are affected playing Night blades or Templars?

And: Are any of you who are affected playing Sorcerers or DKs?

I'm trying to setup a test run for this issue later tonight and this info would help a great deal.
  • Mad_Dog_Reno
Im playing Night blades and on cyrodiil my frames drops to 5 (tried whit out sound and it drop only to 20 (from 45-50). Well i played only half hour but in that time frames have usually dropped but can't stand playing whit out sound, so!

I'm playing a sorc, running with a full group of NBs, DKs and Templars. All of us had 3-10 fps in large battles.

Alright, well one part of that theory is shot then. I was thinking that part of the issue may have been the sound files / sound optimization on the sounds connected to certain templar and night blade abilities.

Personally, I am mostly unaffected by this issue. My sorcerer is completely unaffected, however, my templar and my night blade are both affected, but only, it seems, with certain skills.

It may be a melee only issue, or it may have to do with repeatedly pounding the same skill (spamming the ability).

It looks like I may have my hands full with my test tonight.

Another thread found that those with 1Gb memory on their graphics cards (like me) were worst affected. I also don't have a terribly modern CPU. You may or may not have those issues. Certainly with sound off I go from having two CPUs close to max to one close to max and another lower, and don't have the GPU load drops when the issues occur.

well, I'm running a destro/resto staff, the other members use a combination of all the weapons except 2H. As far as I can see, it does not seem to be a melee issue
