Yeah, that part of his post was completely off.wrlifeboil wrote: »skwornub18_ESO wrote: »Yes I mean it. I haven't had this much fun playing an MMO since the early days of EQ1. Here are the reasons why.
1. Solo play actually means something, 1-50 you get an awesome story line with A-list voice overs and nearly everything is voiced. Add to that a quality narrative with great humor and inside jokes, for those paying attention, makes for a blast of a ride to 50.
2. Solo VR content is actually a challenge, not the hardest but definitely a challenge, some content more then others but there is usually an in game work around. This has allowed me to be very creative with game mechanics and often receive a feeling of accomplishment when I finally do find success on the "over-tweaked" mobs. Though I would like to see a little more XP gain for VR solo content or at least more quests options to allow better solo VR gain than grinding mobs.
3. The population is thriving. I don't know where those "who see no one play" are but in the VR 1 through 8 zones I have been in there has always been plenty of players, such that when I do a world mob call I nearly always get the support I need. In fact I usually don't have to ask because there are groups asking already in all the VR zones.
4. The ADDONS are amazing and well supported, again I see many say they are dead but the addons I use are nearly all updated and the old ones still work so they do not need updated. Oh, I should add I currently have 34 addons installed, I think that makes a pretty good sampling.
5. PVP rocks, ok, yes some FPS issues and some farming / nightcapping going on but the PVP and campaigns in TESO are the best I have played imho. Hell sometimes I just watch the map to see all the action going on in Cyrodil. Wabba is the place to be! I should note here that I do agree some campaigns are a bit light so fewer might be better or some new structure. Will wait to see what the next changes bring.
Seriously I could go on but this is enough wall of text. I have seen several very negative posts that I just do not agree with so I felt something a little more positive was warranted.
The game to me is honestly one of the best I have played and brings back old memories of the "wild west" days when MMOs were new, bugs and all. Some of these bugs just add to the charm. Learn to enjoy the ones which are not game breaking, they may end up being your best memories. For example silver bolt, people will be laughing about that for years and telling stories for just as long in game. Why vamps just didn't get cured was beyond me. I refuse to use either vamp or WW, all human for methat is my small bit of RP.
Lastly sorry for the wall of text.
Which megaserver and what time do you play? I'd like to see what a populated VR zone looks like.

It's the strangest thing.
I read a lot of the forum posts, and I've started posting some discussions. Everything you see on here is laced with hatred for the game and the developers. It's almost like there are so few people who are actually enjoying the game. It makes you feel depressed that the game you were looking forward to for so long came out in such poor condition.
Then you close out of the forums, with a heavy heart. You log in, bracing yourself for bugs/breaks/imbalances/etc. You traipse along, expecting the worst. Then it happens. You start having fun. You start getting enveloped in the amazing storyline. You do some crafting, planning out the exact style, trait and enchantment you want for your gear. You go find a dungeon that nobody asked you to go to, and you delve into its depths for no reason other than adventure.
And then you log off and go back to the forums, and you make this post. One accepting that the game has its flaws, but at the end of the day, it is everything that a game I want to pay for monthly has to be: fun, engaging, deep, and evolving.
I, for one, am absolutely loving this game.

Arsenic_Touch wrote: »You were dead on until you got to player population, addons and pvp.
The populations are not popping in the VR content, especially cadwell's gold, it's quite dishonest to say that they are. Which is really funny because you have posted about how low the pop EB is in cyrodiil, which is even more apparent in the higher veteran zones.
The addon support? those that actually develop addons would beg to differ with the constant api changes that constantly ruin their work with changes that have very little effect on the game and it's quite funny to say that out dated addons work. You'd be hard pressed to find an out dated one that doesn't give you errors galore or completely break other parts of the game. So unless you're using like 1 or 2 addons, that point isn't true. Quite a few addons authors abandoned their work out right.
PVP? FPS issues be damned but the population imbalance do not make it fun at all, the emperor trading (this is due to a crappy system) the exploits that still aren't fixed, the rewards were and are a joke. (it's funny again because of your post about cyrodiil)

Yes, some people have skipped all this content and went to Craglorn. But Craglorn isn't exactly the bustling metropolis you would expect it to be if everyone was there instead of in the normal Vet zones.
1-50 was amazingly fun and active. V6+? Not at all.
TESO is a blast with a thriving community!
It's always nice when Zenimax staff post on the forums !

Again I see people post this yet every time I go to Graglorn I have no problem getting into a tower group to XP grind and I see all the other camps running for grinds as well. We just have different experiences. I can only go by mine as you can only go by yours.
One of the things I love a lot about this game and hate too lol is going out in the wild towards a quest and then I see a crafting node and then another and another...oooohhhh and there's a side quest....ahhhh and another farming node till like two hours later I'm still farming and haven't done the main quest I originally set out for lol.
THEN....after all that time spent farming, I don't want to crafting anything cause I don't want to deplete my resources yet they just keep building and building lol.....its a strange stupid vicious circle....but oh how I do love it
