TESO is a blast with a thriving community!

Yes I mean it. I haven't had this much fun playing an MMO since the early days of EQ1. Here are the reasons why.

1. Solo play actually means something, 1-50 you get an awesome story line with A-list voice overs and nearly everything is voiced. Add to that a quality narrative with great humor and inside jokes, for those paying attention, makes for a blast of a ride to 50.

2. Solo VR content is actually a challenge, not the hardest but definitely a challenge, some content more then others but there is usually an in game work around. This has allowed me to be very creative with game mechanics and often receive a feeling of accomplishment when I finally do find success on the "over-tweaked" mobs. Though I would like to see a little more XP gain for VR solo content or at least more quests options to allow better solo VR gain than grinding mobs.

3. The population is thriving. I don't know where those "who see no one play" are but in the VR 1 through 8 zones I have been in there has always been plenty of players, such that when I do a world mob call I nearly always get the support I need. In fact I usually don't have to ask because there are groups asking already in all the VR zones.

4. The ADDONS are amazing and well supported, again I see many say they are dead but the addons I use are nearly all updated and the old ones still work so they do not need updated. Oh, I should add I currently have 34 addons installed, I think that makes a pretty good sampling.

5. PVP rocks, ok, yes some FPS issues and some farming / nightcapping going on but the PVP and campaigns in TESO are the best I have played imho. Hell sometimes I just watch the map to see all the action going on in Cyrodil. Wabba is the place to be! I should note here that I do agree some campaigns are a bit light so fewer might be better or some new structure. Will wait to see what the next changes bring.

Seriously I could go on but this is enough wall of text. I have seen several very negative posts that I just do not agree with so I felt something a little more positive was warranted.

The game to me is honestly one of the best I have played and brings back old memories of the "wild west" days when MMOs were new, bugs and all. Some of these bugs just add to the charm. Learn to enjoy the ones which are not game breaking, they may end up being your best memories. For example silver bolt, people will be laughing about that for years and telling stories for just as long in game. Why vamps just didn't get cured was beyond me. I refuse to use either vamp or WW, all human for me :) that is my small bit of RP.

Lastly sorry for the wall of text.

well I like and agree with your post op.........but unfortunately the haters, doomers, and the gloomers well be following shortly. But, again I couldn't agree with you more. Heck I'm not even doing double xp week in TOR because I'm enjoying myself playing

I agree. Solo play is amazing. The only MMO comparable is SWTOR. The voice acting, diversity of quests, and impact of finished quests is great!

Im enjoying it too! Ive pretty much done all the content and just working on achievements now, but excited for new content to come. Crypts of Hearts is a blast (despite the loot being meh) the challenge is fun.

Thanks for starting a positive thread.

I come to the forums and see people complain about the game. I go play the game and people are running all over the place (usually in my way).

Owner sponsored forums in most of the MMOs I have played (which is a long list) are usually very negative.

I just remember that most players never even come to the forums who play the game.

Also people are usually motivated to complain much more easily than to compliment. Add to that those who are neutral and one would expect the forums to be of a more negative tone regardless of the game's quality/success.

Great post. There are many of us, too. Unfortunately, to the untrained eye, 'most' people don't share that view... the reality is, of course, that most of us that feel this way are expressing that by playing ESO as opposed to bleating on the forums for hours on end.

We honestly need more positive threads like this one.

I guess all of us who do enjoy the game and are happy with it should take the time to make positive threads.

    1. The vast majority of players couldn't give a damn about the voice overs, they just click-clickety-click-click-click as fast as humanly possible, look for the big dumb arrow, rinse and repeat. About 2000 times and then they go "hey whats that, no more arrows and clicking, this game sucks."

    2. Most players don't want a challenge. They want to be max level and have the best gear, loiter around the bank, and pollute up everyone's screens with idiocy, once there's no more clicking and arrows.

    3. Population is hit or miss, can't really say much as it's hard to get a gauge on it on a mega-server. I never really had a sense I was playing with a lot of people at once, even at launch.

    4. I don't use add-ons. I play on hard-mode wherever possible.

    5. Most players don't want PVP. They want to join the zerg and get points they can spend on awards and stuff that they can show off around the bank. Then they get mad when they find out the point of PVP is to PVP.

It's a good game. I took a break for 2 months, came back and fell right into it again. Maybe most people who complain just play too damn much.

Never said nothing needs improved, in fact I used a positive message to point out several items I believe need to be improved. See what i did there? >:)

I am also not saying some "complaining" is unwarranted, just that I think it has become a bit to negative.

I'm mostly enjoying myself, trying to play PvP through the FPS lag. I've exhausted most of the solo content, so that's not really an option anymore.

And Bangkorai (AD VR10 zone) is a ghost town.
Life of a Nightblade (Screenshot Tumblr)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

I have to completely disagree with this. They ruined the beginning of the game. They ruined all of the bosses making them ridiculously easy. How am I benefitting exactly?

Anyway, lets not get off topic please.

Thanks for posting this OP! I am also having a great time in game. Yesterday I ran into a creepy old mine that was full of trolls and the atmosphere was vastly different from any of the other dungeons I've been in. It almost had the same creepiness that the Dunwich building in Fallout 3 had. Was great!

    lets see,
ninja nerf on biting jabs was reversed.
    OP classes were "balanced".
    armor dye is coming
    jerkin can be crafted
fps issue will be fixed (hopefully)
Molag Bal will more reliably spawn
    Sinmur will more reliably spawn
Numerous game breaking bugs are fixed

mmm... I don't know, I am grateful for what I got, you don't have to be.

    The truth is

I read the forums and start thinking that the game is crap:
    - FPS issues
    - class imbalance
    - weapon/armor imbalance
    - showstopping bugs, dcs, huge client downloads etc.

Then I log in and have AWESOME time in Tamriel =)
    Peace!

I don't know about that... I've provided a fair share of feedback and bug reports as I'm sure others are doing in game.

How do you know these were done through forum complainers and not through in game feedback?

Never saw a massive complaint about Spam on the forums, but after reporting it for months and getting a little upset towards the end, I got an email from support a fix was coming out - low and behold! I haven't received any Spam since then.

Pretty much this. Stay away from the forums and ESO is a great game. Sure its got its problems, some of which can be very annoying (I get terrible FPS all of a sudden) but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying my time.

Nice to read a positive post for once! Some positive feedback certainly doesn't hurt once in a while.

Myself, not being hit by the current FPS bug more than occasionally because I am just doing PvE, I can say that today I was going to "just clean up the guild bank and then have lunch", and here I am, logging out three hours later after being asked to join a pug in a public dungeon in Bangkorai which I hadn't completed, and spending way more time in it than I had planned. I had a blast. Most times I play, this game is a lot of fun, and regardless of some bugs and disappointments over these past few months, it keeps drawing me back. In its best moments, this game actually keeps me up at night. Only very few games do that to me.

Overall, there are so many things to like about ESO, and I really hope the recent problems hasn't made too many people give up on it. It deserves better.
