All MMO's have AOE caps, and the only reason we even know ESO does is because something like 5 abilities in the game weren't obeying ZoS's cap rules and were hitting infinite targets and hitting targets through walls. They fixed that and the flaming began. Prior to the fix there were ALREADY AOE CAPS in place.
Nothing and I mean NOTHING will stop Humans from finding easier ways to kill other Humans, period end of story. In this case I'm talking about PvP. You could have all abilities hit only 1 player or have them all hit everything in range and players will still use the most effective formation/tactic/option available at that time with those mechanics in place to do exactly what they do now, and that is kill you better than you kill them.
LoL you never stop your crap? There is AoE cap, they always wanted it, and you still QQ. Stop trying to turn this to another BS game.
Technically human extinction would stop it.All MMO's have AOE caps, and the only reason we even know ESO does is because something like 5 abilities in the game weren't obeying ZoS's cap rules and were hitting infinite targets and hitting targets through walls. Where do you get the idea that removing the AoE cap thus making AoE more effective will result in more builds based on stamina for single target burst dmg?Krentar_RNX wrote: »TheGrandAlliance wrote: »No the problem isn't AoE caps.. the problem is that Light Armor+Destro/Restro staff is completely OP all other playstyles:
Thats a different issue, also wih AoE cap removed i think that you would see a lot of diffferent builds based into stamina for single target burst dmg.

Incorrect.
The game that ESO is specifically trying to copy, Does in fact..not have AOE caps.

Agreed. AoE cap, who cares. AoE is WAY TOO POWERFUL 1 on 1 or 1 vs zerg. Its the new mmo style that AoE is the king. I hope ZoS will change it. Pretty BS combat system where AoE is over any other.

Or are you'n?
All MMO's have AOE caps

So what makes them skilled? Unlimited AoE? Or...what? You want tools to stack 20 people & burn them down with the same damage you would do to 2 or 3? And it's your skill that would allow you to win?
TheGrandAlliance wrote: »Yes... I have noticed this whereas AoE is becomming "mainstream" MMORPG wise: No more skill required just spam away.
So proove me wrong, list all the MMO's with no AOE cap or DR whatsoever where an ability can hit every single target within it's range at full force.

Only need to name one and that would be Dark age of Camelot of course, which has always been on many peoples lists as the best PvP MMO ever made.
I could name some more like Tera, WaR online had no cap for a bit, they added cap then it sort of died after that (i wonder why). Age of Conan no aoe cap.
That just does not make sense. AOE exists to punish people from bunching up, and here bunching up actually protects from it... that's backwards.
.
You think knowing the AoE cap was removed they'll all bunch up in a ball or stay bunched up after getting wiped once? Instead of 25 in a ball you can have over 6 groups of 4. 25 players can do everything the 4 can except 6 times as much.Krentar_RNX wrote: »Where do you get the idea that removing the AoE cap thus making AoE more effective will result in more builds based on stamina for single target burst dmg?

AoE will be more effective? yes but a lot more risky. Without AoE caps run around with a ball of 25 players spaming impulse and spect to get massacred by 4 players that AoE Stun/Silence as soon as you get caught off guard.
I think that people will have to learn to spread and single assist targets and two handers are quite effective in that job.
Lol @ the analogous comparison of professional athletes to ESO players. How many sanctioned leagues do you know where they allow "professional" players to play unchecked competitively against "amateurs"? How many high school football players will continue pay to play against a NFL team after they get hit a couple times? What makes a professional player better in sport than a less skilled player? Should the professionals get 1 of their legs cut off so that the less skilled people can have a chance? That's what AoE caps are kinda doing.
