LOL, there were multiple threads about it being too loud right after that was implemented. Look it up.
Show me where you said you liked it after it was implemented. (now doesn't count as it is too late for you).

Clearly the majority of people prefer the old sounds. They were natural and atmospheric, and the new ones are muffled and have none of the excellent echo or terrain-specific effects.
At most, they could have just turned down the volume a little, but really, people had the ability to do that themselves.
I look to see them revert this change and either slightly tone down the volume, or possibly create a mount-specific volume slider.
