Should we be okay with that?
Dear god this company must be run by amateurs!
They only let us download the patch when server maintenence is done. Thus everyone downloads at the same time and the server resources are bottlenecked.
Why couldn't we download it in the background in bits and pieces like every other MMO out there instead of all at once AFTER maintence?
Getting 35.37mBs at 55% at the moment. For me, this is one long patch, and then I get to patch my wife's machine ...

I based my decision to let it run on the original 4Gb that it said, which will cost me $40 with my rural internet connection. I grudgingly decided to let it go since I wanted to play. Walked away, came back later, and now learning it's going to cost me $80-$90. Had I know that up front, I would have taken my computer to a friend/relative's place for the download...

I'm not being smug or otherwise in this reply, but I've never encountered that error. If I had, or do I will be looking it up here and online in general for fixes. Raging just prolongs frustration and results in, well, no results. Have you searched the forum for that problem?

They are probably in Canada, they charge outrageous internet fees in some places up there if you exceed your monthly download cap. Won't be long before they start doing it all over the place

Indeed I am. It's $10/Gb if I go over my 15 Gb/mo cap. Though, the first 15 Gb costs me $120, so it's not much cheaper.
My options are
a) crappy satellite with nasty latency. A non-starter for gaming, I think...
b) 4G
So ya, my router is a cell phone...
