Oh. I thought they'd be lying on tables, on the ground or somewhere. This will screw autolooters so badly.
edit: No wait, autolooters would still pick them up, right? Anyhow, more micromanagement for everyone!

This will be fun. More trips back to merchants/crafting stations/bank to get rid of this stuff.
Hmmm, I think you missed the point. This stuff is WORTHLESS. As in zero gold value. And virtually NO chance for mats or exp on DC.
It needs to be destroyed.
But, the griefers will be happy to leave it in the containers for the next guy.

Aren't the containers instanced? So basically you are griefing yourself?

This is what the whole game is like for me. I mean I love the game...in theory...but then there's all this.
Containers are instanced. Craft exp isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. Mat extraction is pretty low, but not zero. When I was testing them, they were also leveled to your character regardless of what zone you looted them from. Don't know if this is still the case, but that gives them some usefulness as placeholder gear.

Recipes and motifs are now worth 0 g. Watch people delete their Imperial motifs.open add-on setting to delete 0g items, problem solve back to gaming
You're correct in that assumption, @Bookwyrm. Just posted a clarification in the patch notes, but the zero value for armor and weapons that you find also apply to anything you find in an interactable object, such as drawers or cabinets. That sounds like it might be a bug related to a mechanic that was added. The patch notes said that the armor and weapons that you see lying around in the world could now be picked up, but they would be worthless (monetarily) but could be used as gear in a pinch. It said nothing about adding these items to the loot tables, though, as far as being in boxes and bags. I'd report that. That seems off.

It's the new patch and part of the immersion element since before the open-world weapons/armor could not be picked up which is not usual in ES games. I imagine they added this to adhere to the franchise. I don't mind it so much.
