@IrishGirlGamer‌ You can still read them at your leisure if you use the Librarian addon. I downloaded it because Eidetic Memory wasn't working properly and honestly I'll probably keep it around even when Eidetic Memory gets fixed.

It saves a copy of every book you find and notes the date/time you found it. You can mark the book as read or not read in the default reading interface with a single key. It even has a full text search bar.

I love it because I can grab all the books and notes without holding up my group and then later on my own, I can sit in the inn and read them at my leisure.

EDIT: Librarian Book Manager in case you'd like to try it.

I love reading books even the ones that aren't as interesting. I love the TES series and its lore so I read as many books as I can find.

Depends. How interesting is it? Lusty Argonian Maid? Read that 47 times.
I try to read all the 'LORE'/ quest specific books, but sometimes I skip this and that, it just depends on the book. I have found I am learning a lot of things I didn't know by stopping to do so, and I wonder why (if they don't) people don't. Everyone has their tastes and play styles I suppose.

Depends. I read when I have time. But who really has time?
Read when I have time or leisure to do so without being jumped by respawning enemies. Not all books are in a safe location to read straight away where you find them.

    The inevitable squirrel option.
Not sure it would work any other way but I don't like the way bookcases have random books on hence constantly change over time.

You end up not knowing which books you've read and which you haven't unless you get the librarian addon.

I would rather certain books be in certain areas (not individual bookcases) so that it's easier to keep track.

At first I read everything as i thought it was important to my journey, but once I realised how random they were, there seemed little point reading a book in a dungeon while mobs could spawn etc.

I always read all the leaflets/scrolls lying around on tables and in dungeons as and when I find them, the rest I now add to the librarian to read at my convenience.

I've been experimenting with an addon that lets me copy the book to the clipboard and using text to speech to read them which leads to some amusing mistranslations, but I find the colours of most of the books and the font used to be extremely hard on my eyes (don't have the best eyesight)

For your perusal: The Imperial Library. Every Elder Scrolls book from every Elder Scrolls title. (Except the Scrolls themselves, of course. How ironic.)

If I was to vote seriously, it would have been that I read as much as possible, to get the bonuses to skill lines.

Reading? No. I'm here for the skills ...
Let's not beat about the bush, after a while it gets very old reading all this stuff, the fact that there are SPs to be had once in a blue moon is the only reason I suspect most players bother at all.

Yes, I realise there are fans of the lore and some books I've read off-line are indeed interesting, but when I'm in-game pursuing quests then that is not the time I want to pause and read some ancient history.

If the books somehow related to the quest one was doing then that's be different, but since they're just a random selection from all the books in the game then it just doesn't seem worth taking the time, at that time.

I read every word of every book I find. Reading is why I play TESO.
I read each and every book I fall upon, but I am a completionist :open_mouth: .

I must say they are all very well written. Somehow, it's also a mark of respect for the devs, as I am sure it took a lot of time and hard work to write all this lore.

While it is not why I play, I do like to read every book at least once.
I even got an addon to track that part.
I was actually hoping I could read all books all the time. But as it turns out Librarian can only let you read the books that character already encountered.

I also recently got the Lorbook addon, but mostly so I would find all the Lorebooks for Mage Guild.
There is the added benefit of having more the read, of course.

Which is why I prefer it to some other options.

I installed it last week and have used it for a couple of days without complaints. I still have to find books, but it really reminds me of the Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim mechanism where you find a book and bag it, rather than getting all the in-game books dumped on you.

One other feature is it tells you can mark a books as read if you've read it and don't want to read it again.

    I'm finding it a very useful add-on.

Does it count if I read them all in the other TES games? :P
