    That would be great.

    Would help with bot problem, at least to an extent.

    That being said, customer support is kinda lacking at the moment. Looking at subscription issues, where you are charged amount and then same amount is put on authorisation for no valid reason, authenticator could be a major issue.

    Honestly, with the botting as out of control as it is, this alone (the lack of authenticator protection for login) is reason enough to cancel -- simple prudence to safeguard one's information, until the time this is gotten under control, if they ever can.

    I don't want to do this, but the sheer number of bots and the stunning wall of silence on Zenimax's part is alarming. :o

    This is getting close to the real issue/problem with bots in ESO. There isn't enough back-end account verification/review. Other games have much tighter account processing systems and that's why they don't have bot problems as bad.

    ZoS is famous for their silence and horrible PR. They are about as transparent as a brick wall covered in peanut butter wrapped in reflective foil.

    Account traffic reviewing would help with bots, agreed. However, front end account verification will have little or no impact, the 'botter' would just have an authenticator to login the same as everyone else, it wouldn't impact what they are doing in the slightest.

    You know why "silence" ?1 Its because you and I (until June 8th) are a Beta testers for a flawless lunch for Elder Bots on a platforms PS4 & Xbox1 - you think Sony or Microsoft would take this broken, sorry ass, bot and hackers infested product to run on there systems ?! That's why its delayed now - they don't give a $hit about PC version - you and me nothing, but lab rats to them and a quick money grabber too - win / win.

    The game doesn't have EU servers in EU.. I think Authenticators are gonna have to wait. The game has two factor email authentication, too.

    yes, an authenticator would be a great idea to add, provided they don't mess that one up as well.

    Authenticators help reduce stolen accounts, many of the bot and spamming come from stolen accounts, let alone the gold they scoop up from stealing the account

    I've gotten ads for gold sellers on my real email account which was only given to Zeni when I signed up. It is not used in the game anywhere. Looks to me like their servers have been hacked because they had to get my email from billing / registration.
    If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

    I really want one too. I would feel much safer with all the bots going around. We all know they aren't paying for their accounts from the money they earned at their day job...Cuz they don't have one! (Other than botting). But seriously, you need one. Even old man EQ1 has one.

    I really don't believe the majority of bot farmers are using stolen accounts. Most likely they are accounts setup using stolen credit cards and using a authenticator on those types is not going to make a bit of difference. As far as Zenimax knows, they are legitimate accounts until the CC company says otherwise. Really, what it comes down to, is that Zenimax takes whatever is necessary in battling bots, and announced to the community soon before it's too late. For a lot of people here, it seems like it's already past the point of no return.

    Of course not, this is a console game.

    Their priority right now is to spend the next 6 months fixing this mess in time for a Christmas release.

    In the meantime, they want you to keep paying.

    I won't support it. It's not subscription worthy. It was released too early, they've got rookies working in several departments, management and design decisions have been appalling.

    Only a die-hard fan could support this game right now.

    Below are some of the in-game issues we are currently working on fixing. Note that this list is not everything we’re working on, just the highest priority ones.

    General
    Botters - We are continuing to improve our process and security behind-the-scenes for combating botters in-game. This is an ongoing work in progress that we are fully dedicated to. Please keep in mind that we cannot go into detail on the various actions we’re taking to combat botting, as doing so could put our game and security at risk.

    ESO Support page article posted today;
    RIGHT NOW, BOTS ARE FARMING PUBLIC DUNGEON BOSSES AND NINJA PORTING TO GATHERING NODES. WHERE ARE YOU ON THIS ISSUE?
    Updated 05/16/2014 04:33 AM Published 05/16/2014 04:33 AM
    We currently find bots that are farming and remove them from the game as quickly as possible. We’re always looking at other methods to discourage and reduce the amount of botting. However, the issue is tricky because we don’t want to hurt normal players by changing the gameplay or implementing draconian measures. So the methods we use have to be well-considered and involve many people.
    source

    Mentioned in recent The Road Ahead article by Matt Firor;
    First and foremost, as I posted in my mini-update last week, we’re working every day to reduce gold farming and botting, which detract from the gameplay experience for everyone. You may have seen Customer Support GMs in the game over the last week actively banning bots in dungeons. We’re also doing a lot of work behind the scenes to keep the game honest and will continue to do so. Please keep helping us by reporting botting and spamming activity in-game.

    etc. etc.

    Just flailing around with generalistic nonsense adds nothing to the debate of this thread or forum for that matter.

    If you have played any other MMO, especially WoW or any Sony game, they had their servers hacked a while back now. The gold sellers will send emails to anyone on that list for a number of games.

    I agree. Give Zenimax some damn time to fight these vermin bots. And guess what, YOU can help. Report. If you find a bot/goldfarmer and you do not report it, you are HELPING the bots, which pretty much takes away your right to complain about them, if you are not even bothered to help.

    And if you think Zenimax just isn't working on this problem. They have bots as NUMBER ONE Priority. They have stated this AND shown this already.
