EQ/UO too old (quite very good)
    WOW not my taste
Vanguard .. down cause full of bugs and left by players cause no support.

TESO now .. nice game .. full of bots/cheaters .. how many time it will stay ???

Cause botting has become the problem number one here.

TESO is new in a large subcription MMO with a monthly fee. Many people said that a monthly fee will not be followed. It is .. but now with botting ... dunno how long we will continue to play that ...

How long do you think players will stay seeking bots and goldsellers stealing the fun they got in ?

For me the answer is very few time.

Personnaly i have suspended my playing. till this resolved (not my account). And if not i will not play TESO anymore till i have some reading in forums that people dont see any more bots in he game.

    Why ?
No ressources in many zones, dungeons full of bots witch mean ok i can terminate my quest .. go hit one time the boss and leave .. very nice ! Dongeon done ...but i missed something ... did i get fun ? Ack nooooooooo better leave that ...

Gold buyers need to be banned definitively .. its not the time to say ohh poor boys they wanted to PL fast .. all here know MMO rules
They need to be definitively banned and its all.

Goldseller need to be chazed .. by law, by code and by all possible use.

Powerlevelers and powerleved need to be chased, destroyed banned definitively.

Ok TESO will loose some real accounts doing this but if it continue, the core base will go away to another MMO and it will stay online only goldsellers and goldbuyers.

But if you do it, you will win fair people, who like to play on a secure game and get fun. Most of all here in this forum are fair people. If we post its because we love TESO and dont want it to crash.
Actually thats a security problem and better for that to stop servers until this resolved .. many think the same .. post a questionand see the answers .. i am sure you will be impressed by the result ?

Cause if you let this continue the next stage will be what ?
    Hacking ?
    Database flood ?
Thèses *** will access to my CB card and personal infos ?

Why not ? You arent able to stop these mechanics so how can you stop professionals hackers ???

It has to be something server side. WoW and SWTOR have free-to-play options to some degree or another, and both don't have bots on the scale that ESO does. It's troubling to say the least.

My character ran up to a node on a starter island yesterday, was preparing to harvest it, and from beneath the ground I saw the tip of a pickax bite into the node, and it was gone.

How the heck do you report underground bots?

Agree. Ban the gold buyers as well.

As much as I agree, I'm skeptical that it's so easy.

How do you determine whether someone bought gold? How could zenimax tell someone paid real money to an external website?
You might be able to check whether someone received an unusual amount of gold without giving something in return, but what happens if the gold came from a clean account (in terms of money laundering)? Then there might be a considerable risk to ban also innocent Players.
Now you might add "everything is traceable to the bots", but I venture to doubt that seriously. I'm sure the professional botters have a number of intermediary accounts to clean their money over days. I mean I'm really no expert in IT, but wouldn't you need a gigantic datacenter to record (and analyse!) every single ingame Transaction over days and probably weeks

Bots do their business through email. They email you goods and gold. However, whats to say thats not a legit venture? Unless the gold seller is later banned and then retrace his emails and ban those gold buyers. However, gold buyers are actually playing and paying for the game so this Zenimax company is not going to permanent ban these players.

Cheaters should be banned. Buying gold = cheating. Therefore, gold buyers should be banned. Seriously folks, how can you defend cheating with a straight face?

no one is defending it. How about you tell us some way of determining who is a gold buyer that doesn't involve magic or ZMO taking on 500 forensic accountants? As a side quest maybe explain why if it's so easy no one has managed to do it?

Actually it is quite simple for a game company to monitor how much currency comes in and out of their game and in fact if they aren't doing it, they've dropped the ball. Any player account that has 5,000g one day and 100,000g the next gets flagged and investigated, simple as that. It's how Blizzard does it.

WE should be /report and /ban the players who BUY the gold. It is time that ZeniMax decided that loosing subs to bot armies /grief gameplay is worse of a problem then the loss of subs due to cheaters being banned.

I agreed with your post but this part is wrong.
How the hell i am supposed to know if someone is buying gold or just playing smart on the market? And even if i did, im not the Tamriel Police.

Zenimax (every MMO developer actually) should ban (suspend the first time?) the buyers on a regular basis.
I am afraid it wont happen or a good half of the population (read as customers) would be banned during the first month.

The "we" I mention does also refer to ZeniMax and not just ourselves. However in theory if you know people who "come into lots of gold" then you probably have logical intel that they bought gold.

Nonetheless... it is up to ZeniMax to enage it in the end...
    Indeed it is so...

Yesterday I would have said that anyone who says gold buying doesn't deserve a lifetime ban is defending the practice. I've changed my mind, now I support a "two strike" policy that gives a player one chance to go legit.

As for identifying gold buyers, write a program to do the forensic accounting for you. CCP did exactly that. I was shocked to discover that their security team put on a presentation at Fanfest 2014. I've been involved in security for decades and I've never seen a security team of any sort stand up publicly and explain exactly what problems they face and how they deal with them.

Warning, the video is an hour long and the it's a terribly boring presentation format, but what they have to say is extremely interesting.

FWIW, I highly recommend this video to anyone who is interested in the issues involved in RMT.

There are some people I don't like. I especially dislike the EP who run around in their pulsar/impulse/rainbow spamming groups like [insert name here]. If they ever really start banning gold buyers I would pay $40 and use his in-game name so that he received the gold and had to start a new character from scratch post-ban...

***, if it is only $40 to get anyone banned I might be willing to invest a couple hundred bucks and knock out a few opponent guild leaders.

    /sarcasm off

Please think through things before you start calling for everyone who receives 100k from a banned account to also get banned ie. don't be ***.

I don't know how the problem could feasibly be solved using current in-game mechanics. However EVE Online tackled the problem in a very unique way that appears to have worked.

EVE Online has an in-game item called a Pilot License Extension, this item is purchase by converting redeemed game time codes into the item using their website. These items are then sold by players for a given amount of gold. Someone can buy PLEX using the game's website and sell it to players in-game. This allowed players to buy gold, and at the same time make it harder and harder for companies to sell enough gold to make operating within the game profitable.

EVE is incredibly big, so this exact system would need to be adapted for use here in ESO. Something along those lines would probably help.

Note: I had no idea how long it had been since the last post. Since I can't quite figure out how to delete this my apologies folks!
